As if the first look at Slipstream from the Transformers Collectors Club Subscription yesterday was not enough, today the TFCC has shared a look at the bio card of Ultra Mammoth. The mighty Maximal looks particularly awesome in this artwork of him making his way through a frozen tundra. Check out the original posting on the TFCC's Facebook page!

Ultra Mammoth is one of the six Transformers Collector's Club Subscription service figures. You can get him and his five compadres by signing up for the subscription service before the final date of 10 September. Find out more over at the Transformers Collector's Club homepage!

Here is a bit of a tease for you - we just recently got Transformers Prime Rumble in hand and if you will pardon the pun, his instructions are more than meets the eye! The instructions, as has been the case with some Transformers toys in the past, feature a sneak peek at an alternate head for the Rumble mold. Unlike the existing head which features two distinct eyes and a fairly squared off look, the new head features a pointed crest in the middle, a visor and a more rounded chin. Could this head be intended for a new character down the line, and if so, who?

Read on to check out some more pictures we have snapped from the instructions including a shot of the head on the toy next to the alternate head shown on the instructions.

Also be sure to check back on the site over the weekend when we will (with a little Energon and a lot of luck) be bringing you full galleries of both Transformers Prime Rumble and his casemate Sergeant Kup.

This evening we have some instore photos of the new Transformers GDO Asia Exclusive deluxe Transformers deliciously dangling from the pegs of a Canadian Toys R Us. 2005 Board member Saundowaivu has shared these photos with us and states that the new deluxes were found at a Toys R Us in Belleville, Ontario. Something interesting to note, is the North American release of these figures will come packged in vehicle mode, as opposed to the Asia release which featured the characters packaged in robot mode. Included in this wave of deluxes are; Springer, Cliffjumper, Wheelie and Swerve.

Get your hunting caps on Canadians! Hopefully, these will be showing up in Toys R Us stores in the states shortly.

Awhile back we reported on partnership with eHobby and the Transformers Collectors Club. Since then, eHobby has released this past Botcon's exclusive Boxset. Now it seems like eHobby's turn to shell out the exclusives. Thanks to 2005 Board member PoweredConvoy for sharing his newsletter with us, we have what appears to be a tease of possible upcoming exclusives shown in the form of Shattered Glass Soundwave, Blaster, Rewind, Eject, Ramhorn, Ratbat and Dial. Could we be seeing our first Generation 1 Shattered Glass exclusives? Looks possible.

Keep it on TFW as we update with more information as it becomes available!

Hey there, Fall of Cybertron fans! Enjoying the game so far? Why not enjoy it with more of your fellow fans? TOMORROW (September 1st) starting at 11 AM Eastern, there will be a TFW2005 Community Playdate for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Whether it be through attempting to go through every wave in Escalation, or teaming up with (or against) your fellow TFW bros in the various competitive game modes, this weekend would be the time to do it, across all three platforms. There are no special events or prizes planned for this. It is just an excuse to have some fun with a bunch of TFW2005 bros.

While you do NOT have to register for the playdate, it'd be much appreciated if interested players submitted their Xbox Live gamertag/PSN profile name in the thread for ease of access. Steam players, you can do the same OR simply join the pre-existing Steam group that a bunch of TFW2005 users have set up. Gamertags will be added to the first post in the thread until the event itself starts. Please do mention which platform your account name is for when you post in the thread. Further details, such as organization and the gamertag list so far, are in the first post of the thread. Hit the Discuss link to take the jump.

TFW2005 Site sponsor, Bigbadtoystore, has sent us an update letting us know that their exclusive Transformers Prime Dark Energon figures are up for preorder. These figures are not available for individual preorders. The four deluxes will be sold as a set and the two voyagers will be sold as a set.

This BBTS Exclusive Set will include the following figures, as well as a bonus DVD:

Deluxe
Defender Wheeljack
Knockout
Starscream
Defender Bumblebee

Voyager
Optimus Prime
Megatron

Each of these translucent figures is the result of exposure to Dark Energon, which twists the mind and powers the body, eventually corrupting and destroying the user. With the Decepticons trying to use the Dark Energon to take over earth, Optimus Prime and the other Autobots are forced to expose themselves to it, so that they are able to take on the Decepticons on their own terms. Will they be able to defeat Megatron and his crew in time for Ratchet to reverse the process, flush the Dark Energon from their systems and save them from a horrid fate?

– Translucent figures show the effects of Dark Energon infusion
– Unique paint schemes of fan-favorite characters
– Autobots and Decepticons have taken on new faction logos: Autobot Dark Energon Defenders and Dark Energon Decepticons

2005 Boards member thygriever recently attended the PAX Prime Seattle and had an opportunity to check out the new iOS Transformers mobile card game, titled Transformers Legends, which is being developed by ngmoco whose previous credits include the popular fantasy title Rage of the Bahamut.

Here's a quick rundown of the information shared with us by thygriever:
  • Single player lets you pick a side Autobot or Decepticon to start out your deck. However on the cybertron mission map you can play as either Autobot or Decepticon. The interface for the map and the menu look very slick.
  • You can collect cards for both factions and they can be mixed and matched for multiplayer. Looks like for missions, you can only use the type of card for that faction's missions.
  • You collect cards playing "tap" mini games. Tapping the enemy gives you energon/money, not sure if there's a difference. Or occasionally a card. There is a completion meter on top to show your progress (presumably to repeat a mission to get all the items).
  • Rare cards are basically rare drops, a percentage.
  • He showed me his STACKED deck of cards (well he is the dev!), basically showed me the best cards like my favorite art which was robot mode Grimlock, which looked amazingggg. It seems every transformer has 2 cards, 1 for each mode.
  • When you view your cards, the card image moves based on your tilt to give a cool motion effect. The presentation of the card/art really makes a big difference.
  • You can EQUIP weapons you get to any robot. Basically he showed me his Grimlock had Optimus Prime's powerful rifle, to make him even stronger. Mix and match.
  • You can upgrade all cards. He showed me Grimlock's card when clicked had a bunch of upgrade slots. Not sure what the upgrades were exactly.
  • My biggest concern was the IPA. He told me it was basically more energy (or energon) to play more games. Obviously for a game like this, the money maker is to buy more play time to collect more cards.
  • There's also some kind of "space bridge" function that you can collect something to complete it or buy parts of it. I think he said completing it gives you a rare card.

The image attached to this story is a look at the booth swag, a pair of cloths adorned with the developer's interpretation of the Optimus Prime and Ravage designs. They were being given away for signing up for the beta.

For your enjoyment tonight we have a new Transformers toy gallery! Here for you now we have our very own gallery of Transformers Prime Rumble! Decepticon Rumble is a part of the new Wave 5 assortment along with Sergeant Kup. Rumble is a great little toy, transforming from a compact car to a robot with some really beefy upper arms. To go with the looks, Rumble's got some great poseability - a full range of motion in the head and excellent leg articulation, with only the shoulders being somewhat limited by the way they tend to catch on part of the backpack. His accessories - twin piledrivers / guns are also rather cool, fitting neatly over the hands and capturing both the feel of the Transformers Prime "hands turn into arms" style and the Generation 1 original's own "arms turn into piledrivers".

All in all, a toy I can heartily recommend when it gets released at US retail, and we just might have some good news on that front for you later on. For now, open the link below to check out the gallery and read on to check out a full review!

Kup's an interesting one - he's a great toy at heart, a real action hero design with bulky legs and powerful arms (plus a nice big pair of cannons). He's just very, very obviously a green version of Ironhide.

In any event that is not a knock against Kup. He is a very cool and rather poseable toy but like with Rumble he's got some limitations on the shoulders again - this time it's on how far you can meaningfully rotate the head before he's looking at his own shoulder pads. There's also a panel from the hood of the truck which sticks up awkwardly from the back of the robot. The arms and legs have a nice range of motion and like Rumble the feet are very well articulated letting you put Kup in a variety of stances. The weapons are pretty cool too - a pair of twin cannons, which can be hand-held or arm-mounted, or combined into a single hyper-bazooka class weapon.

All in all he is a very enjoyable toy who manages to overcome his few flaws to deliver a solid and fun little robot. The one deal breaker is going to be if you want this in the reds and blacks of Ironhide - though right now the only way to do that would appear to be by going for the Arms Micron release next month.

E-Hobby has sent out their newest letter and has also updated their website with a new advertisement for their upcoming Shattered Glass toy exclusive. The exclusive, in partnership with the Transformers Collectors' Club, will be a Shattered Glass Soundwave vs. Blaster set. From the image shared, it looks like four cassettes will be included; Shattered Glass Slugfest, Ratbat, Rewind/Eject and Ramhorn. Note that the exclusive will use the Slugfest cassette mold in this set instead of the previously thought, and much rarer, Dial cassette.
