Courtesy of the Higekuma Toy Blog, we now have in-hand photos of the recently released United EX Jet Master Prime Mode and Combat Master Prime Mode five-packs from Takara-Tomy. These sets are redecos of the Skyburst and Bombshock Power Core Combiners five packs respectively, featuring more cohesive color schemes. Alfes2000 has also posted comparison images with previous versions of the two molds here and here.

Autobase Aichi on Facebook has posted a selection of photos of a new display in Bic Camera stores advertising various Transformers releases from Takara-Tomy for the remaining part of the year. On display we have various releases including:
  • Masterpiece Convoy Version 2 (Out Now)
  • Masterpiece Lambor (Sideswipe)
  • Masterpiece Red Alert
  • Transformers United EX Grim Master Prime Mode
  • Transformers Prime Arms Micron Wheeljack
  • Transformers Prime Arms Master Optimus Prime
  • Transformers Prime Arms Micron Orion Pax (a Bic Camera exclusive)
This new display reveals a few things we did not know about these releases, such as the fact that Arms Micron Wheeljack will come with both an Arms Micron sword and one of the normal swords from the Hasbro release. We've also got a clear look at the Bic Camera exclusive Orion Pax, the Takara-Tomy release of the Deluxe class Optimus Prime from the First Edition two pack. These pictures reveal that Orion will feature the regular "masked" Optimus head rather than a retooled head, and Decepticon symbols.

Check out all the pictures by opening the link above or read on with this story to check out our mirror.

Once again, AT&T's U-Verse listings come through with a slightly expanded description for an upcoming episode of Transformers Prime. This upcoming episode, Hard Knocks, seems to be the third part of an arc that began with yesterday's new episode Legacy - and it promises a good amount of Knock Out and Stascream action for all you fans of these two characters.

Check out the full description below - spoiler tagged for your protection:

When their desperate efforts to acquire the coveted Omega Keys take an unexpected and frantic turn, Knock Out is able to take advantage of the power of sound while Starscream uses his efforts to focus on the power of hyper-speed.

Popping in Wal-Marts now just in time for Halloween are Transformers Prime branded costumes! There's an Optimus Prime costume (pictured) as well as a Bumblebee costume. Perfect if you have any young fans in need of a costume of their favorite robots in disguise! This particular sighting comes from the Wal-Mart in Saint Marys, GA but doubtless they will be popping up in Wal-Marts all across the nation very soon.

Unicron comes in a standard Voyager class window box, but instead of showing his alternate mode in the bottom right the box is graced with an image of the bizarre combined form of Unicron and Arms Micron Optimus Prime. Hot on the heels of Michael Bay interviews, another famous name from the Transformers Live Action Movie Franchise is talking about Transformers 4… and 5.

Actor Glenn Morshower had this to say to Examiner last weekend at the Con X KC in Kansas City, Missouri:

"After I did the opening ceremonies for the ride, Steven Spielberg walked up to me and chatted and said 'You know we've got you set to do the fourth one and probably the fifth one on the heels of that," said on how he was approached about the new sequels. "So, I guess in December we are on our way to making 4 and 5."

Back-To-Back shooting for movies (especially sequels) is not uncommon; famous examples being Back To The Future 2 & 3, The Matrix Reloaded & The Matrix Revolutions as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 & Part 2.

This latest development sheds a light on the statement made by Michael Bay himself, where he said Transformers 4 is "probably" the last Transformers movie he directs.

By way of Robot Kingdom's Facebook page we have the first announcement of a project from a new group on the unofficial Transformers scene. Planet X, as they are known, have released some teasers of something called Project Genesis - an ambitious project to mark their entry into the scene, as by all indications it is a full-scale version of War for Cybertron Omega Supreme! Will this ambitious unlicensed project deliver the goods?

Japanese store Yamashiroya in Ueno has a new display showing off the next release for the Masterpiece Transformers line, MP-12 Lambor aka Masterpiece Sideswipe. As well as showing Sideswipe in both his modes the display has a healthy amount of artwork, concept drawings and other material to showcase the new Masterpiece. Particularly awesome are the concept sketches showing how Red Alert and Sideswipe's head has subtle differences, and the scale chart from the original cartoon which designer Hasui Yuki is using to determine the appropriate scale of Sideswipe in relation to MP-10 Convoy Version 2.0.

Check out all the images attached to this story. Huge thanks to 2005 Boards member Masabon for sending all of these our way!

Takara-Tomy have updated their Transformers site with official photos and news of the next two store exclusive Transformers Prime releases, Orion Pax and Thundercracker. Orion Pax (who is a bit overphotoshopped here - he presumably won't look so pink in the final article) is a Bic Camera and Joshin exclusive release, and comes with a gold chrome version of R.A., and is the first Japanese release for the Deluxe class mold from the First Edition two pack. Thundercracker reuses the same tooling as Arms Micron Skywarp, and is exclusive to Aeon, Yamada and Yodabashi Camera. His Arms Micron partner is a silver chrome version of Skywarp's Baro.

Additionally, the Takara-Tomy Transformers PR Twitter account has tweeted out an in-hand picture of Thundercracker.

The Allspark has once again provided a translation of the Transformers United EX packaging bios. This time out they have provided the fandom with a translation of the Choppermaster VS Rollermaster set story and bio. The story chronicles a battle between the two Transformers, while like with Jetmaster, the bios provide some hints at the identities of both Transformers. The stories and bios are also loaded with references to everything from the obvious to the obscure, leaning heavily on the obscure side of things with Firebugs, Microtrailers and Spanner all getting references.

So who are Rollermaster and Choppermaster really? Once again the actual names are not explicity stated, however it is all strongly implied. Rollermaster is stated to have been a former commander of Darkmount, wields a Targetmaster named Spanner, and coincidentally shares tech spec values with the Transformers United Straxus - all together implying that this is Straxus, who has hopped into a new body once again. Meanwhile Choppermaster is a master of chemical and incendiary weapons who was brought on board with Master Class at the recommendation of Jetmaster / Treadbolt - together with the helicopter alternate mode, it is suggested that Choppermaster is Treadbolt's fellow Sky Patrol Micromaster teamster, Blazemaster (the fact the story title is "In the Blazing Alps, indirectly dropping part of the name, helps)

Check out the full translation and story notes over at the Allspark.

If you are a UK or Europe based Transformers fan who has been enjoying getting new Transformers comic action on a weekly basis from IDW, we have some bad news for you. Visitors to Comixology's Transformers section in the UK and some parts of Europe are being greeted with the message "I'm sorry, the content you are requesting isn't currently available in your area. We apologize for the inconvenience."

According to IDW's Twitter account, it is down to a rights issue:

It's a rights issue, but unfortunately we can't offer digital Transformers comics in the UK.

However it is not just the UK. According to the IDW forums this has been a developing issue for the past few weeks, affecting regions including the Netherlands and Italy. The UK is just the latest region to be hit by this Comixology withdrawal of IDW digital downloads on Transformers comics.

This means for those in affected areas, buying paper copies of Transformers comics is now the only way to experience the stellar work that IDW is putting out. But for digital only series, such as Fall of Cybertron, Autocracy and the upcoming Monstrosity? Sorry, you are out of luck, at least until these are collected in a trade paperback.

The reasoning for this sudden move is presently unclear, but perhaps those who remember the Dreamwave era of Transformers comics will remember a similar blackout following the awarding of European Transformers comics rights to Panini, which led to Dreamwave being barred from selling their comics in Europe for a time. With the comic rights in the UK currently with Titan, could this be a similar situation? Unless an official statement is made, we may never know. What is clear is that this is a bad day for European Transformers comic fans. But at least we still presently have print versions of IDW's comics to enjoy.
