By way of some online store listings and an early image posted on our fellow fansite Fullmetalhero, we've got some more news of new toys coming your way next year as a part of the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters series. First things first, that early look image - what you're looking at is the first picture of an all-new Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Optimus Prime. The new Optimus design is a bulkier, brawnier look with elements of the War / Fall of Cybertron design worked in, particularly the "wings" on the back with the wheels on.
Secondly, by way of new solicits at online store Kapow Toys, we can confirm that the "Ultra" scaled Weaponizers will be returning for Beast Hunters. Moreover, three Weaponizers are listed - Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are there, presumably remolds / redecos of the existing Weaponizers, and making his debut in this size class is Ultra Magnus. With the big guy getting his third toy in the Prime line, what do you think his odds of showing up in the series are? Of course, new toys are no confirmation of the direction the fiction might take - but it's a good gauge of what we might want to start saving some money up for once these start hitting! Those Beast Hunters Weaponizers are due in February 2013 according to the listings, so we hopefully will not need to wait long to see more of them. |

Takara-Tomy have updated their Transformers website with details of another special promotional item. This time out, it is a papercraft trailer for the Weaponizer Class Arms Master Optimus Prime. This trailer is big enough to fit the Voyager Class mainline Optimus Prime inside it as well as having plenty of spots for mounting Arms Microns on it. It is available at Bic and Yodobashi Camera stores on 21 November with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers Prime products.

Here's a spot of news for you as far as spotting Transformers alumnus in other projects. There is word that Transformers live-action movie series director Michael Bay will be guest starring as himself in ABC's sci-fi comedy sitcom The Neighbors. Given the show is about a human family who move to a secluded community populated exclusively by aliens living in secret among humanity, maybe Michael Bay will be revealed as an alien? News and a little bit more information on SpoilerTV.

We've got a treat for you today - a gallery showing off the Fall of Cybertron Voyager Class Soundblaster. He's in the same case assortment as Fall of Cybertron Voyager Soundwave, and both were recently released in Australia. 2005 Boards member SydneyY picked up a Soundblaster and has shared a nice extensive gallery with us showing off this new toy.
The figure sculpt - whether you opt for the "New Soundwave" black of Soundblaster or the classic blue version - has great articulation. There's a great range of movement in the knees and elbows, rotatable wrists, arm and leg swivels on top of all the usual articulation. The head sculpt is also excellent. The figure's main gimmick is the ability to store the data disk minions in the chest, then deploy them so they auto-transform on launching from the chest. The auto-transform on Buzzsaw is quite simple, but fun. As for which one to pick up? SydneyY tells us that Soundwave has a really nice shade of blue, but he personally went for Soundblaster because like a good number of us he already has the War for Cybertron Soundwave mold (his is the cool United version with a shiny finish) and did not want to replace him in his collection. Check out the full gallery by opening the link below for an advance look at this toy to decide if he's going to be a must-buy when he makes it to US retail! TakaraTomy has updated their website listings for three future Arms Micron releases: AM-27 Ultra Magnus (a redeco of the recently release Voyager Ultra Magnus with a new Arms Micron hammer), AM-28 Leo Prime (a redeco of Thundertron in colors resembling those of Lio Convoy from Beast Wars II, with a Micron companion resembling Moon, from the same show.) and AM-29 Shockwave (Who is, oddly enough, the Takara release of Generations/Fall of Cybertron Shockwave, with a new Micron in place of his pre-existing cannon). All three are due for release in December of this year.

The official Transformers Facebook page has updated with artwork for Thundercracker's two cards from the upcoming Transformers Legends cell phone game. Like many other characters in the game, Thundercracker gets two cards in-game - one depicting his robot mode and one depicting his alternate mode. Check it out for the developer's take on Generation 1 Thundercracker - it's very much a Classics Seeker design with a bit of the E.J. Su designs going on in the legs!

Our fellow fans over at The Allspark have translated the seventh chapter of the Transformers United story. This chapter picks up on what happened to the Autobot Choppermaster after his battle with Rollermaster and Combatmaster. The good news is, he was rescued by Airmaster. The bad part, it was all a part of a Decepticon plan to track the location of the Master Class' base, and steal another set of Power Core Combiner drones - and it falls to the Decepticon Dozermaster to execute the plan!
This chapter introduces the two toys from the two-pack that accompanied it into the plot - Airmaster and Dozermaster. As usual hints are dropped at the identity of the two new characters - Airmaster is revealed to be a third member of the Micromaster Air Patrol, Sky High, while Dozermaster's bio drops some heavy hints that he's another Generation 2 character - the Autoroller, Roadblock. Check out the full post and translation over at The Allspark. |

Once again courtesy of Robot Kingdom's Facebook page we have a look at the Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Wave 3 toys out of package. These loose shots show off the robot and alternate modes of each of the five toys along with their weapons. Customization of the weapons seems to be the order of the day, with each of the large weapons being able to break down into smaller weapons, and some of these weapons - like Starscream's Scrapmaker - have enough pegs and ports on them to be combined with other weapons as well.
Check out the in-hand images of the five new Deluxe toys in this assortment - Ultra Magnus, Starscream, Kickback, Sideswipe and Air Raid - to see which ones you'll be hunting down when these hit retail in the coming months. |
