2005 Board member Peaugh has uploaded his 1000th video review. In celebration of this monumentous occasion, he has reviewed something special. Or rather, a pair of something specials; test shots of Mech Ideas Apex and Geminus! This pair of Not-Wreckers based on G1 Twin Twist and Topspin, were announced in July back at TFcon. Peaugh goes into detail how the figures will transform, what accessories they come with and provides size comparisons with other Not-Wreckers Defender and Assaulter from Fansproject.

Takara-Tomy have opened a new website for their version of Transformers Bot Shots. Bot Shots are coming to Japan as "BeCool" (a play on the Japanese pronunciation of "vehicle"). At the moment the website includes a character lineup and a selection of video segments.
Of interest here is that BeCool is completely devoid of the Transformers name - both for the line name and also for the individual characters. In the videos instead of saying "TRANSFORM!!" they say "henkei" (meaning transform, but much more commonly used in Japanese media, where a bold shout of transform has always been more of a Transformers thing). The symbols on the chests have also been changed, and in some pictures - but not all - the individual BeCool releases sport eyes on their vehicle modes in the style of Disney & Pixar's Cars. |

Our sponsors Robot Kingdom have updated their Facebook with in-package pictures of the Takara-Tomy Cybertron Satellite campaign exclusive Dark Guard Optimus Prime. This black redeco of the First Edition Voyager Optimus Prime is a limited edition only available at select Yodobashi Camera stores in Japan.
On a related note, are you curious about the backstory behind this black version of Optimus Prime? 2005 Boards staff member SydneyY has your back and has shared with us a translation of the bio: To save his comrades who are infected with Dark Energon, Optimus Prime had his body covered with Energon Defence Coating. This black coating is an alloy Ratchet created by analysing and converting MECH's equipment, and is capable of shielding Transformers from Dark Energon or any biological weapons such as a virus. Optimus' mobility is reduced due to the added weight, but this is the only form he can guard himself from Dark Energon... |

TFW2005 member ruanxiaoguo has posted new, pre-production photos of his weapon accessories designed for ROTF and DOTM Leader Class Optimus Prime. The weapons, being produced by the new third party group Cubex, are highly screen accurate and styled after the transforming gas tank weapons used in the first two films.
The weapons are currently slated to be sold in pairs, in four finishes: Grey, Metallic Silver, Metallic Dark Silver, and Chrome. The guns are natively compatible with the Buster Optimus Prime variant of the mold that already features detachable gas tanks, but additional parts in this set will allow any version of the Leader class mold to mount them. The guns can also be combined with the weapons included with the most recent version, DOTM Striker Optimus Prime. Site sponsors BigBadToyStore and TFsource have both opened pre-orders for these items. Staff Note: Please be aware that this accessory is not produced or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara Tomy. |

Hasbro have begun advertising their 2012 Charity promotion. The promotion called "Be a Joy Maker" is being run in association with charity GenerationOn and Toys for Tots. The concept is simple - charitable individuals or groups can share what they are doing to help their communities; and for every project shared, Hasbro will donate a toy to Toys for Tots. The goal is to reach 100'000 projects / toy donations and at the current time they are standing at a little over 35'000. So here's a challenge to all you big-hearted fellows in the Transformers community - let's show them our best side and help GenerationOn hit that target! Find out more at the GenerationOn Share Joy page.
Also check out The Hub's commercial for all of this, which features clips from Transformers Rescue Bots: |

Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have updated with something particularly awesome today - official photos of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Predaking. You might remember that at the New York Comic Con where Predaking was first revealed his robot mode was kept under wraps - well BBTS has lifted the lid on that mystery! Predaking's robot mode looks pretty awesome with a good amount of black and orange with some silver on his legs and face. The color arrangement on the arms in particular is a possible callback to the original Predaking. Perhaps less pleasing for those who remember Beast Wars is a return of "beast claw hands", where the hands of a toy's robot mode are formed by the claws of the beast mode and consequently don't look much like real hands.
One other point of note is that these pictures reveal Predaking is bringing a third weapon to the battle along with his twin missile launchers - and appropriately, it's a sword formed out of the tail of his dragon mode. Read on and check out our mirror of the pictures. |

It's Thursday and that means a look at another piece of art from the Transformers Legends mobile game from Mobage. This week the official Transformers Facebook page has uploaded the artwork for Swoop in dino mode. Swoop is sporting a very Generation 1 look, and looks quite sharp.
The Transformers Movie Facebook page has also posted some art from the game, showing off Bumblebee. This Bumblebee is based on the Reveal the Shield incarnation of the Classics toy, the version which was updated to feature Bumblebee's black stripes from modern takes on the character from other media. |

Series three gives us the Ratchet Spanner, Wheeljack Kunai, Starscream Boomerang and Dobo the Dragonfly, who comes in two decos - green with red accents (Beast Wars Jetstorm themed) and a red version with green accents (Tonbotto, Jetstorm's Japanese release, for all intents and purposes). They're due out shortly, so it's something more to look forward to!
