TFW2005.com member vproject just recently got the upcoming Transformers: Prime figure - voyager Skyquake! vproject provides some photos of the figure (mirrored here, access them after the jump), the bio and technical specifications, and some brief thoughts of the figure in the form of a pictorial view (post #60). While many of us may already have the Dreadwing figure of the same mold, vproject reports that this new color scheme looks really great in person as well as Skyquake sporting a modified version of Dreadwing's weapon in the form of his signature Gatling gun.

After the current McDonalds Happy Meal promotion featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Moshi Monsters is over, McDonalds will be switching over to a Transformers Prime/Hello Kitty rotation of toys. A flip from the previous promotion where only vehicle modes were offered, this time around the Happy Meal offerings will be of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Breakdown, Megatron and Starscream in their robot modes.

The hunt continues this holiday season! After we reported earlier thatFall of Cybertron Soundwave's minions had been found at retail, fans were wondering where their master was. Well, the walking apartment complex of destruction himself was found at a Toys R Us in Indio, California today by 2005 Board member Floating Cat and he shared some pictures via Twitter. His wave mate/powered up form, Soundblaster, was also found as well.
Check out his haul and receipt by clicking the title bar. Happy hunting! |

Bleeding Cool News has posted the March 2013 solicits from IDW, which includes a nice slice of Transformers comic action. Coming in 2013 are More than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise #15, Regeneration 1 #89 and More than Meets the Eye Volume 3 - collecting the Shadowplay arc and the annual. Also out in March 2013 is a print version of the digital-first Fall of Cybertron miniseries, and another Transformers Spotlight one-shot - this one is a new Spotlight Bumblebee, set during the timeframe of the Costa ongoing series where Bumblebee took leadership of the Autobots on Earth. Editor and Robots in Disguise writer John Barber is at the helm on this one, and given his penchant for tying together loose (and sometimes contradictory) plot threads in the Movie series comics this one could be a real treat.
The full solicits and the rest of the covers can be viewed after the break. Be warned a lot of these covers might have spoilers in them, especially More than Meets the Eye #15's cover. Suffice is to say March is going to give us some very interesting comics to read! |

Going almost hand in hand with our last news story, we have more unofficial Predaking toy news. 2005 Board member, Cenokibble, has stopped by to share with us prototype pictures of Mastermind Creations' first offering from their Reformated Ferocicons project. First teased at this past years TFcon 3rd Party Panel, Project Bull aka Not-Tantrum is revealed, giving us our first good look at the design aesthetic these figures will have. Shown in these pictures are the Bull mode, bull mode with weapons attached (A G1 style foot/cannon and daggers), leg mode, and of course, robot mode. Complete with evil sneer. Also shown in these pics is the combined mode's sword. Named the Oppenheimer sword, It practically dwarfs Voyager Classic Prime.
See all these amazing pictures by clicking the title bar. The fans once again have a choice with their 3rd Party combiners. The only question is if you plan on starting your new combiner with a closed fist or a leg up? Discuss in our 3rd party forum! |

Recently, we reported on a new 3rd Party combiner. This time around, an unofficial Predaking figure. At the time of reporting, a third party group had not yet laid claim to the figure and details, other than a teaser of the combined robot itself, were sparse. The name of the company is Unique Toys from Singapore and they've started a Facebook page for fans to friend and watch all the progress of this beast. They've been pummeling us with news since this project's announcement and in just over a week we now have:

Just in time for the holidays for our youngest fans, we have news of an all-new release in the Transformers Rescue Bots line. This large non-transforming Electronic Energizer Optimus Prime was spotted in San Antonio, TX by 2005 Boards member raiden225005. It's in a similar vein to the Powerbots and Revving Robots that have been released in the past for the movie series. raiden225005 reports that the cross sell on the box also shows a Bumblebee, but only the Optimus Prime was to be found on shelves.

As if the Decepticon Data Disks making it to US retail yesterday was not enough, we are getting reports that the Autobot Data Disks have been found at retail in Singapore. The Diskbots - Eject, Rewind, Ramhorn and Sunder - are paired with Soundwave's opposite number, Blaster - who himself is just recently out through some Asian outlets. Here's hoping they make it to US retail in the new year so fans can assemble the Communicators and their cassette minions for the Classics series!

Generation One variant collectors take notice! In a bit of . . . interesting news to say the least, the Commemorative Series Optimus Prime is seeing a re-release. While this in itself isn't odd news in light of some of the other re-releases we've been seeing, the nature of this one is a bit more interesting. From our Cybertron.CA forums, member Bruticus reports that this reissue is in the Commemorative packaging . . . but it's the 25th anniversary Optimus Prime figure! The notable differences of the figures are the shades of reds, blues, and grays used for the toy parts. The Autobot symbols appear to be tampo-stamped onto the figure as well (whereas the Commemorative issue has a label sheet).

The Transformers Live Action Movie Blog is reporting that Transformers 4 will begin shooting in May 2013. This information comes via a Collider interview with Transformers 4 lead actor, Mark Wahlberg. Mark also goes into a little bit of detail on how him and Michael Bay ended up working together for the project:
“That’s why Transformers came about, because we had such a great time working together [on Pain and Gain]. We kind of complemented each other throughout the entire process, what he does and what I do and what we were able to do together, and then after that I was like ‘Dude we gotta work together again,’ and he was like, ‘Well I got a project, you interested?’ (laughs)” “We’re shooting Transformers in May, and then I believe we’re gonna do Ted 2 right after. They’re working on it now and we’ve kind of gone through the negotiation process. The great thing about it is Seth’s ideas for the second one are sick. He comes from the world of episodic television so he knows how to tell the stories, man, in a way that most people don’t, like for instance The Italian Job we’ve been trying to do the sequel for 10 years. He’s a different kind of guy.” You can view the interview with Mark from Collider at the link above. |

We've got one more toy to showcase to wrap up our coverage of Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Wave 3, so without further ado, here's Fall of Cybertron Air Raid!
Air Raid is a remolded and retooled version of Shockwave, who was arguably the best of the initial three deluxe releases in this round of Generations. Air Raid gets an excellently done and very detailed new head, a new chest, plus a new gunblade weapon and a second sword weapon. It's the new weapons where the appeal of the toy lies, because the gunblade (replacing Shockwave's arm cannon) can not only convert between a gun and a sword form, but it can break down into the gunblade portion and a second gun (which looks a bit like something the Generation 1 Aerialbots used). The second gun can attach to the arm like Shockwave's arm cannon, giving you already a good selection of options for displaying this guy, and that's not without getting into the sword accessory, which can be combined with the gunblade (or its components) in a couple of different ways to form some rather impressive swords! In short - half the fun of this toy comes from his accessories and in plugging them together to make a whole bunch of different weapon combos. That is ultimately why if you are thinking of passing on Air Raid you should probably think again - he's just plain fun. This fan had the most fun he has had with a Transformer toy in a good while fiddling around with this one figuring out the many different weapon combinations, a selection of which are showcased in our gallery. 2005 Boards member D-Drive has passed along to us some information from the online version of Previews detailing some new releases in Wave 2 of the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commanders. According to the listing, Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Wave 2 will add two new characters into the mix - Trailcutter (aka Trailbreaker) and Hardshell - the David Kaye voiced Insecticon who played a pivitol role in Toxicity and Hurt in Prime's second season.
There's no pictures as yet as the listing was accompanied by a picture of Wave 1's Bulkhead. Even so it's two more toys to look forward to including our first Prime series Insecticon. The full text of the listing follows: TF PRIME BEAST HUNTER COMMANDER AF ASST 201302 A new faction has joined the fight between the Autobots and the Decepticons - the monstrous Predacons! This war needs leaders, and the Transformers Prime Beast Hunter Commander Action Figures give collectors the leaders they need! In addition to Predaking, Bulkhead, and Optimus Prime, fans will also find Trailcutter and Hardshell to collect! |

Movie Replicas Direct has posted up some more listings for upcoming Transformers releases, complete with in package pictures. Headlining here is our first look at the Beast Hunters Predacon Leader Predaking in box - note that for Beast Hunters we are seeing a return to full-on squared boxes rather than the ones with angled corners we saw on the Prime and Fall of Cybertron Voyagers.
There's also a selection of Kre-Os in package. No new revelations on sets being released under the Kre-O Beast Hunters banner except that the Beast Blade Optimus Prime set will feature Optimus Prime and Laserback as a set of two - making this Laserback's second toy appearance. By way of these listings and a pair of eBay auctions we have a look at the Rescue Bots "'bot and human" two packs in package. Lastly on an aside those waiting for Beast Hunters might not have too long to wait, and 2005 Boards member Canonball reports that a Fred Meyer store in Portland, OR is putting out the shelf tags for Beast Hunters already. |

Here's a weird nugget of news for you. 2005 Boards members ScottyP and Counterpunch were out at a "Toy City" store in Cary Towne Center in Cary, NC. They found this guy on the pegs - a single pack release of Iron Claw, from a Mini-Con 8-Pack released in parts of Europe in October 2010. Their thought is this might be a new run of "Market 6" exclusive single pack Mini-Cons - and who knows, perhaps we'll see some of the others from that exclusive 8-Pack turn up?
