Alfes2000, who you may know from his blog site providing lots of great looks at new Japanese releases, has tweeted a few in-hand images of the Japanese Transformers Generations release of Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime. Evident from these images is that all the flat red on the US Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime is shiny here, and the blue is a bit darker to match - does the higher-quality paint job make the difference for you? Share your thoughts in the linked discussion thread!

Takara-Tomy have made one other update to their website today - they've added a page for their next Transformers Prime store exclusive, Darkness Unicron, now referred to as Nightmare Unicron. According to the story text on the linked page, Nightmare Unicron appeared when the spark of Gaia Unicron was sealed away and he represents the still partially unsealed "true" incarnation of the Chaos Bringer, the story is a little fuzzy on this detail by our translation.
As speculated, Darkness / Nightmare Unicron is going to be a black version of the Chaos Bringer, so in his Gaia Armor form he'll blend well with Darkness Megatron or Nemesis Prime. The page also specifies the launch of a content, the "Second Arms Improvement Content", a customizing contest for Japanese fans. It runs from 9th of January to the end of February. There are various prizes including a sound stage with Optimus Prime voice clips, a new Arms Micron Shining R.A. O and giveaways of Nemesis Prime. By our reading Nightmare Unicron isn't being given away through this contest, so it's likely this is the Darkness Unicron teased for a March release a while back as a Yodobashi Camera store exclusive, only available at the Akihabara (Tokyo) and Umeda (Osaka) branches. |

Holy packaging errors Batman! Thanks to an error-packaged Beast Hunters Soundwave picked up at retail by 2005 Boards member Yobuster, we have confirmation of our third Predacon in the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters mainline! Ripclaw, a character previously featured as a Kre-O building set release, will also be getting a Deluxe Class toy as a part of what is assumed to be Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 2. Ripclaw features a pretty nifty looking dragon mode, and in robot mode, she features a pretty awesome battle claw on her right arm. Yes, you read that right - Ripclaw's bio, shown on this cardback, also confirms she will be a female Predacon villain for the Autobots to fight.
Check out the cardback scan by clicking on the thumbnail attached to this story, with massive thanks to Yobuster for sharing it with us all! |

Here's a bit of release news for you - the Transformers Prime Dark Energon Voyagers have been released! They've been sighted at retail in Singapore, and fret not, because Big Bad Toy Store are also reporting that they now have these en route and in stock very shortly. In the mean time, check out these quick in-box pictures, which also includes a look at the bios for these toys.
Big Bad Toy Store is still taking preorders for these toys, either as a set of two, or as singles - Optimus Prime and Megatron. |

Transformers Asia has posted an update to their Facebook page teasing at the next Asia exclusive premium series released. The banner posted confirms that APS-02 will be a Decepticon - and the blurred out text cannot hide the fact that the full name of the character is Decepticon Brawl. Like the APS-01 Striker Optimus Prime, we presume this will be the 2007 Movie Leader Class Decepticon Brawl, with an updated / premium deco.
Keep it TFW for more news and pictures when they surface. |

As 2012 draws to a close, you might be forgiven for thinking "there can't possibly be any more new toy sightings this year". That being said, we have one more happy sighting to report for you - the Generations Deluxe Wave 3 has been spotted at the Bellevue, WA Toys R Us by 2005 Boards members Liege Prime and Deceptichage! So far the only one confirmed sighted is Ultra Magnus - but with all five in the same case, chances are that merely means someone got there first and bought up the other four new molds - Starscream, Kickback, Sideswipe and Air Raid.
The hunt is on! Happy hunting everyone! Share news of what you find with other local fans by way of our Transformers Sightings section. |

Site sponsor BigBadToyStore has listed a pre-order for the iGear PP05P Patrol Specialist. This release, limited to 500 pieces, features a new deco, pistol, and headsculpt. Unlike the previous Specialist releases, Patrol Specialist does not include an enormous amount of accessories, which some of you might actually appreciate.
Our experts on the TFW2005 boards are suggesting that this figure may be based on the Off Road Patrol Micromaster Tote. Patrol Specialist is expected to arrive around April 2013. Please note that this is a third-party product not produced or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara. |

Courtesy of toy-world.com.hk wehave scans from the Japanese hobby magazine Figure King for January 2013. There's not a tremendous amount of new and exciting material within - there's a look at the upcoming Transformers Prime Wildrider, Frenzy and Rumble figures as well as the Arms Micron five packs, Masterpiece Soundwave, Rumble and Ravage, Japanese Generations Combaticons and Animation style Encore Devastator. All items we have seen plenty of lately. What is interesting though for Bot Shots fans are some Japan-only BeCool releases including a green Jazz, a yellow "Rescue" Ratchet and an orange-brown Megatron. Don't read too much into these though - BeCool is not being marketed as a Transformers series, so these might be mere recolors for the sake of looking cool.

Naturally take this with a pinch of salt, but we have some good news for UK fans right here.
Amazon.co.uk have put up a listing for "Transformers Masterpiece Optimus Prime". There's no pictures attached to the listing, but other details including the description of features and the product number all match up. The great thing is the price - a mere £35 (about $60 according to the latest exchange rates) After months of back-and-forth with Toys R Us UK about a release for Masterpiece Optimus Prime, is Amazon UK going to serve up the goods as well, at an almost too good to be true price to boot? Let's keep our fingers crossed that Amazon UK honors this preorder price and makes a whole lot of happy UK Transformers fans in early 2013. |

Autobase Aiichi reports that the latest Transformers Prime Arms Micron series store campaign special will be a papercraft trailer intended for Ultra Magnus. Starting today, 31 December, participating Edion stores will be giving out the papercraft trailers with a purchase of 3'000 yen or more on Transformers Prime merchandise.
However, Autobase Aiichi notes that unlike the picture shown in the Edion catalog (at left) the distributed material was the same as the trailer released for Arms Master Optimus Prime. The catalog was published before the final confirmation of the goods was received. In other words, do not believe all that is reported - all that is being released is another papercraft Optimus Prime trailer, and not an Ultra Magnus trailer. |

2005 Boards member uranusdd has shared with us a look at a new third party accessory set. This set is from a group called Dream Works (no, not that Dreamworks) and it's an upgrade for First Edition Transformers Prime Bulkhead. Among the numerous features of the set are optional double arm cannons - as seen on the show - plus they can combine with other parts in the set to form an approximation of the Forge of Solus Prime. Check out the pictures, attached to this story.

Preorders have now gone up for a hugely anticipated release of 2013 - Terminus Hexatron, the not-Sixshot, from Mastermind Creations. Done in Mastermind's unique high-detail style Terminus Hexatron is a big robot boasting all six alternate modes of the original Sixshot (and yeah, probably the secret Wingwolf mode as well, Ultra Magnus beware).
Check out the preorder links below. He's due around April time, if your wallets have any money left after Encore Fortress Maxmus: Mastermind Terminus Hexatron at Big Bad Toy Store Mastermind Terminus Hexatron at TFSource |

2013 just arrived and this year Transformers fans can enjoy Transformers: Prime Season 3 - Beast Hunters on Hasbro-Discovery Hub.
Back in last October at the New York Comic Con 2012, we saw for the first time what exactly Beast Hunters is. Before that, we’ve only known it through a mysterious new trademark filed by Hasbro, which TFW2005 revealed for the first time. At NYCC 2012 we were treated to a small clip from the 3rd Season. However, it was not very clear and the camera was all shaky. You Tube user, TransEpisodes3 has recently uploaded a 720p HD version of the same clip from the show. You can enjoy it below: Transformers: Prime is rumored to return this Spring. |

We'll pass on word of further exciting new product reveals from the official Transformers Facebook page, so keep it TFW for all the latest news. |
