UK Toy Fair 2013 started today and other Toy Fairs (including the famous New York Toy Fair 2013) are to happen across the globe soon. Hong Kong Toy Fair 2013 was recently concluded at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Though the presence of Hasbro was not heard, Transformers did make an appearance. Calibre toy company was there with their Transformers Movie Resin Statues. Thanks to You Tube page Atamaiidotcom, we now have with us, footage from the Toy Fair floor.
Movie Optimus Prime Resin Statue is 20 inches tall, posable with swappable hands and comes with Energon Swords and Axe. Movie Bumblebee Resin Statue is 14 inches tall, posable, scaled to Optimus Prime and also with swappable hands and weapons with a Battle Mask. The statues are Asian Exclusives with Optimus Prime going for US$ 1699 and Bumblebee for US$ 1399. Pretty expensive since the toys are "Limited Edition". Also you can buy your own small Movie Allspark for US$ 299. Enjoy the video below: Stay tunes with TFW2005 as we bring you the latest Toy Fair news. |

Official images of the Transformers Prime Arms Micron series Darkest Megatron aka Final Battle Megatron and Jet Vehicon General have been posted on Amazon Japan. The new images reveal that Jet Vehicon General is as speculated the white "elite" Jet Vehicon type who was under Starscream's command during the final battle of the episode Darkest Hour. Darkest / Final Battle Megatron is the Voyager as expected, primarily painted the same as the US mainline release, but with the grave-robbed right arm of a Prime incorporated as a series of paint apps (or a sticker...?) on the arm. He comes with the three Dark Matter Caliber Arms Microns redeone in darker plastics and with purple stickers to resemble the Dark Star Saber.

Toy Hobby has shared some images of a little promotional calendar that Takara-Tomy has released. It features the first two Transformers GT releases on the calendar with GT Prime featured for June-July and GT Saber featured for August-September. GT Saber's page even features his motto "Let's say go!" (which makes this writer think that GT Prime's must say "Roll Out!" in Japanese)
The calendar also gives the names of the Race Queen figures who are coming with the toys - Misaki comes with GT Prime and Anna comes with GT Saber. To top it all off, there's some new artwork on the calendar pages. |

By way of the Japanese micro-blogging Weibo site of Mr Elljay, we have our first two pictures of the FansProject Breakdown in robot mode. This unauthorised unofficial take on the Stunticon Lamboghini combines the classic Generation 1 look of the character with modern Classics style aesthetics. It is already confirmed that he will be joined by the other four Stunticons for an unofficial unlicensed take on Menasor - check out our mirror of the images attached to this story.

Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have broken a couple of major bits of news tonight. The first of them is the reveal of prototypes of the next two releases from FansProject, Function X-2 Weirdwolf and Function X-3 Brainstorm. So far only resin prototypes of the alternate forms are seen. As always bear in mind if you please that these are not officially licensed or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara-Tomy.

Several days ago, we first reported that Shockwave would be the new release featured in Wave 2 of the Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Voyager Assortment. This was based off of a listing in Previews.
Courtesy of TFW2005 sponsor BigBadToyStore, the assortment breakdown has been revealed on their pre-order page for the assortment. For those worried that Hasbro would shortpack Shockwave and make him impossible to find, worry not! Shockwave will come two to a case, with one each of Optimus Prime and Predaking carrying over from Wave 1. The pre-orders for the various Voyager Wave 2 collection currently carry a February release date. Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters toyline is now a very familiar name among the Transformers Fans. It has come a long way since being just a trademark at USPTO.
We’ve been hearing and seeing quite a lot of Toys from the upcoming 3rd Season of Transformers: Prime. But what about Role Play Accessories? 2005 Boards Member hardreturn is bringing us something very cool from Walmart; Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Optimus Prime Mask. Priced at US$ 14.92 this new Optimus Prime Mask features a pull-down visor and it appears as though it has replaced his regular Mouthplate. It’s hard to tell at the moment, but again… the color Green is emphasized. You can take a good look at the new Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Optimus Prime Mask by clicking on the Image attached with this news post. |

Third part group Perfect Effect has updated their website with new colored prototype photos of the Motobot Aranea. This new transforming motorcycle robot, based on various female spider Transformers characters, is an extensive retool of the first Motobot, RC.
Besides the substantial bodywork, Aranea comes with a variety melee weaponry, and based on one blurred photo, a third spider mode! Check out all the photos after the jump, and remember, this is not an official toy, neither produced nor endorsed by Hasbro or Takara Tomy. |

Fellow TFW contributor Protoman has tweeted some new photos of the BTS Nova Lord prototype. Interestingly enough, parts of the jet mode are based on the Rise Of Cobra Night Raven from GI Joe. Modes are the following:
Just to let you know....... The robot mode is 18 inches tall. To give you an idea. Fortress Maximus is 23 inches tall......... This is a big move on BTS' part, moving from trailers for Classics Prime to their 1st fully fledged figure, and a big triple changer at that! |

Type-R has shared with us a link on the Cybergundam blog showing the latest scans from Februry's Dengeki Hobby magazine. First we have to a new Legends Prime figure (similar in nature to the Satellite Primes) under the new GT Banner. Safety Prime is the figures name and he is a repaint of the Legends Prowl mode. No word on how or when this figure will be available as of yet, but very possible an exclusive of sorts. Also shown in these scans is GT:03 Megatron. This remold of Alternity Convoy will come with a new head and a Race Queen Mini figure.
Check out the scans after the break! |

Now, for some unexpected Rescue Bots news! 2005 Board member Shark Jumper stumbled across a case of Rescue Bots single pack figures. Along with a picture of the case, he's provided us with a pic of the single pack for Heatwave. This figure appears identical to the upcoming Heatwave figure from the new 2-pack with Kade Burns. Whether or not these single packs will be available in lieu of the 2 packs, or if these will be available in addition to, is unknown currently. Other figures in the case include Chase Burns, Optimus and Bumblebee. The figures retail for $2.00 each and we're found at a Toys R Us in Fullerton, California.
Check out the pair of images provided by clicking the title bar. |

Here is something cool for the "high rollers" among us collectors - for the price of $232.91 US plus shipping, you can own a set of special Transformers edition silver coins from the New Zealand mint. The special NZ $2 coins are 1oz Silver each, and feature Optimus Prime and Megatron on the tails side, and HM Queen Elizabeth II on the heads side. They're legal tender in New Zealand, but why would you want to spend these special pieces?
The page with the order details is here. According to the page, the coins have a limited edition mintage of 5,000 sets. |
