Just when you thought you'd seen it all after Toy Fair this weekend, ACToys drops another bombshell on us - there's a little bit of Beast Wars coming to the Transformers Generations line. Beast Wars Megatron, the suave arch-villain masterfully voiced by David Kaye (yessss) is getting an all-new Voyager class toy in the Generations line. He's a reuse of the excellent Grimlock mold sporting a new head.
It's an awesome tribute to a fan favorite character - check out the pictures of this unpainted mold-test showing off the new head by visiting the link above or our mirror attached to this story. |

Toy Fair 2013 has come and gone for us here at TFW2005.com, and boy was it crazy. We do our best to get the info and images up to you quickly, and for the most part, that doesn't allow us to curate, refine and enhance the pictures we take. We just want to get em all to you quick, and let you sort them out while the show is in full swing.
That being said, we've started to go through our image sets from the weekend, are picking out the best ones and giving them a little extra love. Attached to the story are some of the hottest shots from the show. Not necessarily the hottest as in new & never seen - just some good looking pictures in their own right. To see them all - read on! If you are looking for comprehensive coverage, check our - Toy Fair News category. If you'd like to see non-Transformers "pretty pictures" - check out the story on Toyark.com |

A bit of surprising news today, as Generations Sandstorm has been confirmed via a product listing on the Hasbro Live Chat customer service page. Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed that a small orange VTOL-based aircraft possibly resembling Sandstorm was on the packaging for Generations Metroplex at Toy Fair, possibly as an extreme remold of the recently revealed Generations Springer?
(The product numbers for Highbrow and Banzai-Tron on the page are reportedly the same numbers as the Hunt for the Decepticons Voyagers from 2010. No Headmaster or Action Master love in sight, sadly.) Be sure to keep it here on TFW2005 as we bring you the latest Transformers news as it happens. |

The official Transformers Kre-O site has updated with a trio of documents giving the bios for the Kre-O Micro-Changers Preview Wave, Wave 1 and Combiners Wave 1. The bios are all written in a firmly tongue-in-cheek style, with some highlights including:
Galvatron's Bio - Nothing stands before Galvatron! I am supreme! I am totally awesome! I am the scariest thing ever to come out of the mouth of a weirdly pudgy planet monster! Look upon me and despair! Spinister's Hobby - Hiding fusion bombs in the Autobot restroom. Airachnid's Fondest Memory - The time I webbed ARCEE to the floor and let INSECTICON tickle her. Dirge's Favorite Childhood Pet - I had a pet toucan, but it ran away. Springer - Yeah, I could turn into a car, too. I just don’t feel like it. Devastator's Favorite TV Show - The one with the guys who blow stuff up all the time. That's just a taste - head on over to the Kre-O official site to check out the rest! |

Our fellow fans over at the Allspark get the credit for digging up this bit of news. The latest edition of Kidscreen magazine contains some news on Transformers Prime Beast Hunters including the fate of Transformers Prime itself. The article puts forward that Prime season 3, Beast Hunters, will now only contain 13 episodes and it will mark the final chapter of the Transformers Prime series.
That being said, the article goes on to say that a "new iteration of the animated TV series" is due in late 2014, and while there is no word on what this new series might be, chances are it will be set in the Aligned Continuity. With all the effort Hasbro has put into creating this cohesive continuity for Transformers - a continuity presently covering two novels, two prequel video games, the upcoming MMOG "Transformers Universe", three comic book miniseries, 65 episodes and a TV movie - it is unlikely that the Aligned Continuity is going away so soon. Read the original post on The Allspark by clicking here. |

The excitement from Toy Fair 2013 continues! A careful ear from board member Scaleface catches a discussion between an attendee and a Hasbro representative from a Toy Fair 2013 video (embedded below) discussing the possibilities of the recently-announced (and now, highly anticipated) Generations Metroplex. During this discussion (around the 4:45 mark), one such possibility is Metroplex redecoed into - Metrotitan!
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNTEzMjI5ODA0.html For those of you unfamiliar with Metrotitan, if you click the resource link in the previous statement, you will discover that Metrotitan is a Japanense exclusive deco of G1 Metroplex as a Destron (Decepiticon) from the Japanese series Transformers: Zone. Hasbro certainly has created modern toys with obscure references, such as Generations Sky Shadow. That coupled with the obvious necessity for such a large toy as Generations Metroplex (!) to have a good redeco in order for Hasbro to recoup some of the mold costs as well as the referenced discussion of this news bit, certainly makes this a possibility! Now, while all of this certainly seems like a viable reality, we are still posting this as a "rumor", as this is not an "official" confirmation of Metrotitan actually being produced, so take this with a grain of salt, so to speak. By all means, join in on the discussion already taking place by clicking the link below. Also, certainly feel free to check out our coverage of Toy Fair 2013! |

The third in our little trifecta of news derived from the updated Transformers.com is this news that the three remaining members of the Abominus combiner group - Blight, Rippersnapper and Windrazor - may also be getting single carded releases. Our evidence suggesting this comes from the "Choose your own adventure" game once again. Inside the in-game database, all five of the Predacons that form Abominus are shown with bios and repackaged weapons from other Legion class toys. The individual bios are unlikely to be shown on the packaging for Abominus, if yesterday's Kre-O Combiner bios are anything to go by together with the recent trend to reducing bios on packaging.
Granted it is not proof positive - but all the signs seem to be pointing to both a single release Abominus and a store exclusive "combiner boxed set" just like in Generation 1. As always, watch this space. |
