Good news everybody! It appears that more new Transformers toys have started to trickle out into the US market. Just yesterday, we reported the spotting of the new Generations voyagers Blitzwing and Springer. Tonight, we have a sighting of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 3. Both sightings come from the Pacific North West. This new wave of toys consists of Autobot Ratchet, Dreadwing and Skystalker. These were spotted at a Target in Seattle, WA.

Hopefully these two recent sightings means more figures will be hitting the shelves soon! Click the title bar to check out the photographic proof and discuss your strategy for locking down the latest Transformer toys.

Director Michael Bay was interviewed by Moviefone regarding his upcoming movies; Ninja Turtles and Transformers 4. Mr. Bay had lots to say; specifically how he got into the Transformers Franchise in the first place, how he’s leaving it and redesigning old and introducing new robot characters for Transformers 4.

Well it’s more about how you approach these films, like for example, on “Tranformers,” you already have the built in audience.

See, I was not a fan of Transformers [at first]. Hasbro was talking about giving me a whole Transformers story, and I’m like, “If I can do this really real. If I can make them believable, I think I could have something here.” I’m not a Hollywood guy. My friends are normal guys. I’ve got this guy from Texas. He’s like, “Mike, that “Transformers” [movie] seems like a dumb idea.” And I’m like, “Yeah, I know, but just give it a second.” And then I showed him the shot of the Scorponoks jumping out of the sand with Tyrese [Gibson] running. He saw that image and he went, “I see what you’re doing.” You’ll always have haters, but the last movie? One-hundred-twenty million people saw that movie. There’s still a lot of fans of that franchise. And I’m a huge Transformers fan now, and I protect that brand.

Yeah, because then you’re limited in what you can do and what you can show.

Yeah. You know there are a couple of historians of Transformers. I would do my designs of the robots and they’re like, “What if you just add a little bit more ears to Optimus?” But they’re really hands off. We’ve redesigned them in “Transformers 4,” and there’s some really cool sh*t in it. I’m literally redesigning every character, top to bottom. There’s a reason why they’re redesigned, but it’s also to keep it new and fresh to me. I think the fans will appreciate some of this new stuff we have in the movie and some of the new characters.

I know when you did “Transformers 3,” you were kind of done...

Yeah, and this is literally a true story. I went to the [Transformers] ride in Universal, and there’s a two-and-a-half-hour line, and you just see all these kids -- it’s the most popular ride they’ve had since Jurassic Park -- and I’m like... It’s hard to let go of your franchise. You don’t want someone to f*ck it up. So I at least wanted to set it up on some good footing. Because you’re going to get a different kind of director [who is] not going to want to follow in my footsteps. Directors feel very territorial. So they’re going to go to a more inexperienced director. It’s just the way Hollywood works. And I’m thinking, “God, so I’ll redesign it, set it up... Someone’s gonna f*ck this up. This is way too big of a thing.” And I’m looking at all these kids and I’m like, “F*ck, I gotta do one more.” And then I brought Mark [Wahlberg] into it. So now we’ve got a movie star, we’ve got full redesigns. At least it’ll be on good footing.

File this one under "rumor" for now, but the Robot Kingdom preorder page for the Aga-Con Hong Kong version of Generations Metroplex makes an interesting reference that it is "expected to have SDCC style color".

We have no idea what this could mean - or indeed, what exactly SDCC style color even means - but an informed opinion is that SDCC style color might literally mean "colored like the SDCC one". If this is the correct interpretation of this reference, then it heavily implies we might be getting a special San Diego Comic Con edition of Generations 30th Anniversary Metroplex this July.

Hasbro have yet to officially announce their SDCC exclusives - when they do, we will update our main page with news on what they are.

Previously, we told you about Transformers 4 Filming at Sham Shui Po. On that article a name of a new Chinese actor was mentioned. That was Huang Xiaoming.

Today, Asian Pop News is reporting a second name along with Huang Xiaoming; that is award winning Chinese actor and singer Chen Kun.

We do not know if they will indeed get a chance to be in the the next installment of the Transformers Live Action Movie Series, but the chances are a bit high judging by the celebrity status of the Chinese actors mentioned above.

Another name dropped is Tong Dawei.

Dallas News is reporting Transformers 4 will be filmed in Texas. This is no surprise since Jack Reynor's character is a Texas racing driver. The site also reveals some tiny tidbits.

"No plot has been released for the film, but Mark Wahlberg will star along with Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz. The home of Wahlberg’s good-guy character will be a farmhouse in Pflugerville. Bay has previously said the film will take a different direction with many new actors.

The Austin Film Commission confirmed three to four weeks of filming in the small towns of Lockhart, Taylor, Elgin and Pflugerville.

A large Austin production office opened in March, but location scouting dates to November. There was initial interest in the Circuit of the Americas racetrack southeast of Austin, but instead the Austin Film Commission says the focus is on small towns that remind Bay of Robert Frank’s 1950s photos collected in the classic book The Americans.

In Taylor, 30 minutes from Austin, a police chase will close downtown and a railroad overpass, said Deby Lannen, the city’s Main Street program manager. A car will be exploded in the city’s Robinson Park. “It’s pretty exciting,” she said.

Lockhart’s Caldwell County Courthouse square will be another filming location, with Taylor and Lockhart combined into one fictional town on screen. Robots will chase down the good guys throughout Central Texas including in Elgin."

So, who’s the Police Car going to be? Prowl? Barricade (No, wait.. he's dead. Oh well!)? Some other Robot or just an ordinary Cop Car? You guess…

By way of Cybergundam and Dengeki Hobby's June 2013 edition, we can share an image of the Transformers GT series packaging. The GT series toys - and specifically the first releases in the series, Optimus Prime and Star Saber - are packaged in a wide, square box, with the toy in vehicle mode on the left visible through a window, and artwork of the robot on the right. Between the toy and the artwork in roughly the center of the packaging is the Race Queen figure. The boxes look very nice for display, although significantly bigger than the Transformers Alternity packaging, which previous versions of these molds were packaged in.

Word reaches us via 2005 Boards member Onslaught24 that the Transformers Subscription Service figures - first revealed at Botcon 2012, with orders taken back in September of last year - have been delayed. The new delivery date for the figures to Fun Publications is now expected to be in June. No reason is given for the delay.

It is worth considering that although no reason is given for the delay, past Botcon Q&A sessions have indicated that the Transformers Collectors Club figures - exclusives or member freebie figures - have tended to be produced alongside the Botcon figures for that year. Given the late June date for Botcon, this delay would also be consistent with the production of the Botcon figures, so this fan would venture that the delay is on a factory level.

We will of course provide an update once more information is available.

Toy-World.com.uk has posted scans from the May 2013 edition of Figure King. The big news in these scans are fresh images of the Japanese Generations Blaster and Skywarp, notably Skywarp's purple seems a shade lighter in these images making him appear a little closer to the animation colors of another Decepticon, Cyclonus. A series of Masterpiece Prowl resin prototype images, showing how the shoulder cannons deploy, are also shown. Other items shown off on these pages include Kre-O's Japanese release (unchanged from the US version) and Transformers Go!'s April releases (all of which we have seen previously). Check out the scans attached to this post.

2014 is bringing us the 30th anniversary of Transformers as well as Transformers 4; and the anniversary celebrations have already begun in the Generations line! First up in this 30th anniversary series we have for you a look at a pair of toys that have literally just been spotted at US retail - Legends Class Optimus Prime with Roller and Bumblebee with Blaze Master.

Both of these two packs are rather cool little toys. The Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are each approximately the size of a Cyberverse Commander or Scout class toy, and are based on their IDW Comics designs - Optimus from the Mike Costa ongoing, and Bumblebee on his Robots in Disguise design, although with an Earth alternate mode. They have decent articulation for their size, though Bumblebee lacks movement in his head. Their partners, Roller and Blaze Master, are light on transformation - vehicle to robot boils down to standing them up - but they serve as fun accessories to the main 'bots in their two packs. They're effectively Targetmasters with alternate modes, Targetmaster Micromasters if you will.

Overall, these are fun toys. They are simple, but great value considering they include two figures for only slightly more than a Cyberverse Commander. The designs on them are excellent, full of detail and good articulation. Well worth picking up when they hit US retail.

Some pictures of a prototype for what is claimed to be a third party unlicensed trailer for Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime have been posted on the Planet Iacon Facebook group. The images show a trailer, scaled for the Leader Class Striker Optimus Prime mold, which transforms from the usual boxy Optimus Prime trailer into a full-on weapons arch, as seen in Transformers Dark of the Moon.

No information as yet on who is making this, estimated prices or when a release can be anticipated. If and when more information becomes available, we will update you.

Hisashi Yuki has updated his Twitter feed with new images showing the upcoming Generations Titan Class Metroplex with other Transformers toys to hammer home just how huge this thing is going to be. The latest pair of images shows three Legion / Legends Class Transformers (Starscream and Optimus Prime from Reveal the Shield Legends Class and Beast Hunters Legion Airachnid) on Metroplex's battle station mode looking very small indeed! The second image shows off the various Generations Data Disk toys lined up along the side of the battle station mode - and impressively enough, they are only marginally larger than Metroplex's wheels! Metroplex is looking ginormous - truly a toy worthy of the first of the Citybots.

Look out Chicago - there's more Bayhem headed in your direction! On Location Vacations reports that Transformers 4 director Michael Bay has been in Chicago scouting for possible filming locations. Their report indicates that Mr Bay and crew were starting out on LaSalle St, near Randolph St, and then proceeded south toward the Board Of Trade Building. Could these be future filming locations for Transformers 4? Keep it TFW and we'll share with you what we learn as the story unfolds.

Perfect Effect has returned to their roots for their next release - the PW-01 and PW-02 Master Swords. The swords are aestheitically based on the Perfect Effect God Swords, but scaled for the Fortress / Brave / Grand Maximus toys. They lack the ability to break down into their component parts, instead featuring an optional long handle to be wielded by Omega Prime or a handguard to let them attach to the Maximus type Transformers. This news comes to you via Hobbybase.

Maketoys have announced their next major project, following on from the popular Giant and the perennially delayed Chaos Paladin. Next up from them is an unnofficial and unlicensed reinterpretation of Computron, that takes a few liberties with the designs of the team members, especially Strafe. Revealed so far are Quantron itself (Computron), Blindfire (Strafe), Celeritas (Lightspeed) and Metalstorm (Scattershot).

ROSWELL
ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Gobits
FUNCTION: Warrior / Communications
“I am not trying to prove I am better then you, I am trying to prove I am just as good!”

Profile: Originally a beautiful humanoid, when the Terrorist Gobits nearly destroyed their planet, she was forced to take on the form of a robotic space craft to aid in the war against BIKEMURDER. As the battles raged on, she became a seasoned warrior and trusted solider, so much so that in the absence of CAPTAIN-1 and TURBOLAG, she is left to command the whole Good Gobit army. In a recent mission; ROSWELL and a skeleton crew of bots, tried to find a solution to their home world and universe being wiped out by an unknown cosmic factor; it resulted in ROSWELL having to change her robotic form to match that of the local esthetic in a strange new dimension where everything was “More Than Meets the Eye”. Thanks to the Modifier, a machine from her home universe, she has finally achieved a design, color and body that she is somewhat pleased with, but even ROSWELL feels it could be better.

Abilities: Like all other Gobits, she has the standards of robot mode flight and high powered laser based pulse blasts from her fists. Unique to her design is that in UFO mode she is capable of light speed travel. Armed with her Path Cannon she can fire a short range blast that emits small sized black holes. ROSWELL is always looking to upgrade her weaponry to keep up with the ongoing conflict.

Weaknesses: She always drives to be better and thus some of her teammates feel she pushes herself to her to the point of exhaustion. She also can be a little vain sometimes, as she used to be a very curvaceous and beautiful humanoid and is not pleased with her more current blocky robot body.

Another new image has been posted on TFYuki's Twitter stream. This one shows Generations Metroplex in battle station mode - with Generation 1 Metroplex in battle station mode comfortably sitting on his deck with room to spare. Yes, this is a toy that is so huge it can comfortably fit Citybots on its deck with space to spare! We can't wait to add him to our collection later this year - can you?

A second scan from a Takara-Tomy retailer catalog, this time by way of Robot Kingdom, shows us a look at the Transformers Go! Ninja team. They are a trio of animal themed robots who can combine into three different giant robot combinations like the vehicle transformation Samurai team. They are Gekisomaru the lion, Hishomaru the phoenix and Sensuimaru the shark. Yes, Transformers Go! will give you a ninja star wielding shark for your collection!

The scans also show (in small callouts on the larger scan with the artwork) the three different combinations of both teams. One of the scans also shows what Takara-Tomy's Hunter Smokescreen will look like - he will be a pure white version of the Beast Hunters mold, without many of the extra paint details Hasbro added - in fact the picture is unclear but it looks like there isn't any red paint on him at all.

Check out these scans attached to this story.
