Mobage have sent us a press release about the next event for the Transformers Legends Mobile Game from Mobage. The event is named Heavy Metal War, Part 1 and begins today at 5pm and runs through June 20th. This event is based on the classic Generation 1 cartoon episode of the same name, with the premise being that while Megatron and Optimus Prime duel for the fate of the Autobot base, the Constructicons Long Haul, Hook and Bonecrusher launch a covert assault on Telertraan I. This time out though it's not Dinobots in their way but Autobots Ironhide, Wheeljack, Ratchet and Brawn.
Presumably those are the new episode cards and the bosses - and with the event being based on Heavy Metal War, could we be seeing the gigantic Decepticon combiner Devastator soon? Read on to check out the full press release. |

McDonalds' Japanese branch has updated their website with details of their upcoming Transformers Go! Happy Meal (called Happy Set in Japan) promotion. The promotion we assume is running under the Transformers Go! banner as that is the current incarnation of the Transformers Prime series in Japan, but these promo toys are very much Transformers Prime based. There's four versions - the first two, released on 21 June 2013, feature Optimus Prime with sword slash action and Megatron with missile shooting action. On 28 June 2013 Bumblebee with punching action and Bulkhead with missile shooting action will also be released. Check out some small pictures of all four promotional toys attached to this post.

2005 Boards member xe07 has kindly shared with us a nice look at Beast Hunters Sharkticon Megatron. A few key things to note on this one is that there seems to have been a miscommunication between the packaging guys and the ones writing the instructions - while the packaging calls him Megatron and has him wielding the awesomely named Tartarex Warp Sword, the story chapter and instructions refer to Megatron as Sharkticon Megatron, and his weapon as the Sharktooth Spear. In addition Megatron features a new faction sigil shown only on the toy, packaging and instructions use the vanilla Decepticon logo.
The instructions do reveal two new bits of information to us - the black redeco of Beast Hunters Bumblebee will be named Night Shadow Bumblebee, and more importantly, the sequel to the Transformers Exiles novel will be Transformers Retribution, coming in Fall 2013! |

The Takara-Tomy Mall has updated with news on the availability of the Tokyo Toy Show Masterpiece Tiger Track. Unlike past Tokyo Toy Show exclusives from Takara-Tomy, this one won't necessarily be available at the Tokyo Toy Show, and instead will be preordered there, with the possibility of a lottery drawing if more people want to purchase Tiger Track than available toys allows. Here are the full details, with translation provided to us by Griffin-of-oz:
Due to limited quantities, it will be a reservation lottery. Obtain reservation/entry on the 17th (Monday) and 18th June (Tuesday), from 10am each day. Limit one reservation per person. If there are less reservations placed than toys, everyone gets one. If there are more reservations than toys, it comes down to a random lottery. Winners will then be contacted by the email they provided on the reservation. Toys will then be shipped out late June. Price 6,000 yen (about $64) - Cash on delivery only. It is worth noting that a portion of Tiger Track may be held back from this drawing, given the numbers already being offered through online retailers and the fact that in-hand pictures are circulating. On a related note, the linked page also has a few lines by way of a bio for Masterpiece Tiger Track: Autobot warrior Tiger Track Transforms from robot into a Lamborghini Countach LP500S. A cool-headed hunter, who is good at fighting without being detected by the enemy, and is held in high regard by his commander, Convoy. Includes gun and missile launcher, plus black version pile drivers. |

Takara-tomy have uploaded a trailer for Transformers Go! on to their Youtube channel. The preview shows a brief clip of Kenzan racing into action and transforming - in Feudal Japan, no less! The clip demonstrates that the animation will be a hybrid of styles, combining cel animation with CG robots, and combining the detailed Japanese stock transformation style with the on-the-fly style used in Transformers Prime.
Also of interest is that there are some brief snippets of character bio (in Japanese). The combined modes are named GouKenzan, GouJinbu and GouGanoh based on which one out of Kenzan, Jinbu and Ganoh forms the upper body. In the footage Jinbu can also be heard describing himself as possessing advanced speed or agility, and Ganoh boasts that his power is "number one". Although not confirmed in the video, this fan would expect that these attributes carry over to the respective combined forms. Check out the video clip below - and it might also be worth noting that there will also apparently be a McDonalds Happy Meal special DVD. |

Site sponsor Robotkingdom.com has updated their Facebook page with packaging images of 1 of the more extensive retooled figures we've seen this year, Generations Sandstorm! They actually have this figure in-stock and ready to ship, so it might not be too much longer before we see this at US retail. To wet your appetite further, here's the character bio:
SANDSTORM lives for action. His only real fear is a fear of boredom. As a result, he takes unnecessary risks, both in combat and out - risks that can sometimes threaten the success of his missions. He lives fast, loud, and dangerously - traits that make him fun to hang out with most of the time. But his fellow AUTOBOTS are getting a little sick of his habit of giving away his position to the DECEPTICONS just so he has the opportunity to enjoy a fight. Read on to check out Sandstorm in-package! |

More and more Set Images from Transformers 4 Principal Photography are surfacing faster than you can say "Quidditch".
This new batch of photos from Fan-Girl.org and various other sites, give us a good look at Jack Reynor and Mark Wahlberg in front, Nicola Peltz and T. J. Miller in the back of the Chevrolet Sonic RS. The car is modified for Rally type racing including the racing seats… indicating this may be Jack Reynor character's (who is rumored to be a Racing Car Driver) Race Car. Check out the new images at the thread. |

During the earliest days of Transformers 4 Filming, a mysterious Ambulance was spotted among the bunch of Autobots; Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Hound and the unnamed Veyron and Corvette.
Today, another image gives us a clear look at this mysterious Ambulance. However, it's hard to tell if it is indeed an Autobot or just a regular Ambulance kept for safety reasons. Another theory suggests that this is Autobot Medic; Ratchet. There are of course some theories to back that claim. One is that we have not heard of Ratchet (or other Bots who survived Chicago) so far. Two, Hummer; which was Movie Ratchet's Vehicle Mode is now no longer in production. More speculations suggest a new character like Autobot First-Aid. But, we are yet to know the actual info. So, what do you think? Speculate at the thread associated with this News Post. |

Sponsors Robot Kingdom have added more images of Generations Voyager Sandstorm to their Facebook page. These new images show Sandstorm in all his modes out of package, and he looks very sharp as expected. He's a remold of the new Generations Voyager Springer (on shelves now!) but he's such an extensive remold that he is, effectively, a complete new toy. Check out the images at the link above or mirrored with this post.

Yesterday, we heard unfortunate news of a fire breakout on a Transformers 4 Set in Texas. Many rumors sprang out of it, including one mentioning that this will delay the Principal Photography of Transformers 4.
Director Michael Bay stopped by his site to make an Official Statement regarding what happened: "Shooting of Transformers 4 is going great with Wahlberg and the new cast. We are having a great time in Texas. I’m reading how the news makes everything more dramatic than real life. I guess the truth was just too unexciting. Yes there was a small smoldering fire at a house and no, no one was injured during the fire. And no, no one “just narrowly escaped” as the news dramatically states. A crew member though twisted his ankle after falling in a gopher hole on the ranch. The fire was put out in a brief 15 minutes by a great fire crew on set. It was an attic fire and cause is unknown. No we were not shooting in the attic, we were shooting outside on the ranch. Michael" |

Zap2it has updated with a synopsis of episode 11 of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, Persuasion. There's a promise of a long-awaited confrontation between two powerful warriors, and a moment which sounds like it will call back to two character's rivalries from the original Marvel Transformers comics. Highlight the text below to see the synopsis:
Megatron appeals to Ratchet; Optimus takes on the Predacon. Transformers Prime Beast Hunters will return on June 28, 2013 with Evolution, the ninth episode of this season. Persuasion will air on July 12, 2013. |

Amazon has listed some new preorders for IDW Transformers trade paperbacks, which are set for a release in November (and one in early December). The new volumes include:
Transformers Art of Prime, due November 5 and (presumably) an artbook covering the complete 68 episode run of Transformers Prime, from Darkness Rising to Predacons Rising. Transformers More than Meets the Eye Volume 5, due 19 November and widely expected to contain the "Remain in Light" arc. Transformers the Movie Collection Volume 2, due on 19 November. At just over 300 pages long, it will contain between 12 and 14 issues of the movie tie-in comics, most likely these will be the Revenge of the Fallen adaptation plus the Defiance and Alliance prequels. Transformers Classics UK Volume 5, due on 3 December. No indication of which issues are included is given, but The Legacy of Unicron (Marvel UK 146-151) should be in this volume, given that the previous volume covered up as far as Marvel UK 145. Details on these are sparse right now, but we will update when more information comes to light. |

News in from Tokyo Toy Show 2013 - it would seem that Japanese studio Art Storm / Fewture, who have previously made the ES and EM Gokin versions of the Mugen Calibur from Japanese Anime series Dorvack have acquired a Transformers license from Takara-Tomy - which means officially licensed Roadbuster versions of both these Mugen Caliburs!
To take a quick step back and explain, ES Gokin is a small, transformable, super-deformed (large head in proportion to body) figure, while the EM Gokin version is a normal proportioned release, but does not transform. Regrettably the version that would have the biggest appeal - that is, a full transformable one with normal proportions - was not made by Art Storm but CM's Corporation. Regardless, these are both very cool pieces, and doubtless the EM Gokin Roadbuster will look good in a collection display regardless of its lack of an alternate mode - this fan would imagine it would look rather cool next to the Mech Ideas Apex and Geminus figures. This news comes to you via the Cybergundam blog. |

Just a quick note to let you know that the figures are in our warehouse! We are going to do the best we can to get them out before BotCon (no guarantees). But we need your help. If you have moved since the program started last fall, we need you log in at: mastercollector.com/fss/event.cfm?eid=3 and update your address. This needs to be done by Monday morning 9am Eastern Time so we can work on generating the shipping documents. We cannot be responsible for reshipments for anything that is sent to an incorrect address. If you can't remember your password, go to the club: TransformersClub.com/shop and use the "remember me" function under the My Account tab. Please do not call as we are preparing for BotCon and we don't have the capacity to handle many calls and get ready for the show. After the first shipment goes out, we will let you know what the billing dates will be for the two installments. We appreciate your patience in this program. The delay has been very frustrating to us as well, and the manufacturer has assured us that it won't happen again. We know you will love your figures! Thanks for your support, The wait is almost over! |
