Japanese blogger Tagoal has posted up some in hand images of Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 5. Up first is Night Shadow Bumblebee. This latest version of Bumblebee is a redeco of the Beast Hunters Wave 1 Bumblebee, which means lots of spikes, lots of missiles, and a bow to fire those missiles! This Bumblebee sports the black with yellow-gold racing stripes look that the Autobot scout sported throughout the third and final season of Transformers Prime.

3rd Party group, Fansproject has got their booth setup at this years TFcon 2013 and they have a few upcoming items on display for fans to drool over. First up is the final member of the unofficial Stunticons, M3 (or Not-Motormaster). Shown only in vehicle mode right now. Also on display are the next two figures in their Function X line, Quadruple U and Smart Robin. Quadruple U (aka Weirdwolf) is shown in nearly full color, while Smart Robin is still shown in clear/grey plastic.
Fansproject mentions that more will be revealed after the 3rd party panel, so watch this space! In the meantime, click the title bar to discuss the new M3 Stunticon images. Or click here to discuss the Function X pictures. |

Today we want to share with all of you with something a bit special - a toy that never made it to general US retail! For your enjoyment today, we have a look at the never-released Transformers Animated Activators Electromagnetic Soundwave.
Soundwave in Transformers Animated, rather than being a member of Megatron's Decepticons, was a creation of the human genius Isaac Sumdac which had evolved and taken on a life of his own through exposure to the Allspark powered key held by Sumdac's daughter, Sari. The "Electromagnetic" Soundwave was featured prominently in the cliffhanger ending of the season 3 Transformers Animated episode as a gigantic version of the Decepticon. This makes it more ironic that the redeco was used on the smaller version of Soundwave. As a toy, the deco looks very sharp. The white and teal in vehicle mode go together nicely, and the purple windows give the vehicle a bit of personality. Robot mode adds more black into the mix, which contrasts nicely against the white and creates a unique and fun deco. As far as the toy itself goes, Soundwave is simple to transform, moving between modes in less than five steps, and featuring good all round articulation including elbow and knee swivels, lateral outward movement on the shoulders and full movement on the head. Overall, Electromagnetic Soundwave is a fun little toy with a nice and different deco. A few have been appearing on eBay lately for reasonable prices, if you are a fan of Animated or a fan of Soundwave, you definitely ought to look into it. Open the link below for a look at the unreleased Transformers toy goodness! Transformers Animated Activators Electromagnetic Soundwave Gallery |

Next up from Tagoal is a look at Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 5 Autobot Prowl. Autobot Prowl is a reworked version of Wave 2's Deluxe Smokescreen. Prowl gives up the Shadow Quill Armor in exchange for a new head with a Prime-style take on Prowl's head (which seems to draw inspiration from Animated Prowl) and a lightbar. In this fan's view the new deco looks very handsome, and will doubtless be a great "off screen character" to add to any Transformers Prime collection - doubly so if you need a "good cop" to balance out any Auto Assembly Bad Cop Decepticons hanging around!

Start checking your mailboxes, the next Transformers Collectors Club Subscription Service figure is arriving! The second figure in this series is the female Seeker, Slipstream. Slipstream originated as an opposite-gender clone of Starscream in Transformers Animated; here she represents the aligned continuity version of Slipstream as featured in Transformers Exiles. She's a new version of Prime First Edition Starscream with a new head.
Keep an eye on your mailboxes for la femme Starscream! |

Back in the US, we have a new Transformers toy sighting for you! The next wave of Beast Hunters Deluxe Class toys has been sighted in California, mere days after Deluxe Wave 4 also arrived on the scene. Deluxe Wave 5 adds Night Shadow Bumblebee and Prowl into the mix, and is the last of the 2013 Deluxe class assortments - the next Beast Hunters Deluxe assortment are the simplified Deluxes which Hasbro has indicated are considered part of the 2014 product line.
Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 5 was sighted in a Target in the Fox Hills mall, Culver City in California, and also in a West Hollywood Target. As seems to be a trend of late, Target seems like the best place to start your hunt for these new toys! |

The third and final of our Summer Wonderfest 2013 licensed Transformers products comes to you via the Facebook of online retailer Amiami (NSFW). Sentinel, who make the Riobot series, have unveiled a prototype of their Gigantic Action Megazarak, better known as Scorponok. This robot stands roughly the same height as Fortress Maximus, if not a bit taller. Weapons including Scorponok's rifle and Zarak Shield are included, and it seems as though there will be alternate head parts for a toy / Headmasters style head or a Rebirth style head.

Next up from the Summer Wonderfestival 2013 by way of the Habaryan Twitter feed is a look at the prototype of CMs Corporation's Brave Gokin Excel Suit. The Excel Suit is based on the exo-suits worn by Spike and Daniel Witwicky in Transformers the Movie and Generation 1 Season 3. This image shows that in addition to the Excel Suit itself, CMs are making presumably non-poseable Spike and Daniel figures to go with the suit. This image also shows that this will be a big set, given how tall the prototype looks next to Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy.

News is reaching us from Summer Wonderfest 2013 in Japan of a series of new licensed Transformers items being produced in conjunction with the 30th anniversary. First up is this Ultimetal series Optimus Prime by Action Toys. It stands 440mm / 17 inches tall, and features diecast, remote controlled light and sound, mouthpiece vibration while speaking, and removable panels to show mechanical parts inside. It's a non-transforming figure, though, and based on past releases from Action Toys, the pricetag is expected to be quite hefty.

The chaos of San Diego Comic Con has receded, and we are getting back to normal here at TFW2005. Today we've put up a full gallery of SDCC Metroplex, showing off all the differences. Overall Metroplex is generally the same as his mass retail release. The differences are - 2 guns instead of one, chrome face and thighs, metallic sticker sheet, 12 pack of decoy figures, and a fancy larger box.
We've highlighted those for you in our gallery - you can check all the pictures here: SDCC Metroplex Full Gallery. We've also added some key shots to this story. If you'd like to see the retail release, a more thorough photo set from different angles are here: Generations Metroplex Full Gallery. Do you need the 2 guns, chrome parts, but weren't able to go to SD for the con? Check em out on eBay, they're going fast! |

Metro News Canada has conducted an over-the-phone interview with actor Mark Wahlberg regarding his new movies "2 Guns" and "Transformers 4".
Of course he was tight-lipped but said that he is playing "a single dad who’s trying to raise a very attractive teenage girl in the real world." Also he mentioned his daily routine while filming: "I don’t go out at night anymore, so that makes it a lot easier. I go home, I’ll eat dinner, I’ll read the script and prepare for the next day’s work, and go to bed right away. I’ll wake up with a little bit of time to say my prayers, read my prayer book, maybe do a little workout, and then get back at it. And then steal a cat nap whenever I can during the work day — but (‘Transformers’ director) Michael (Bay), once he starts working, he doesn’t like to stop." |

More news on the Mark Wahlberg front tonight - it seems that Transformers 4 is going to be a true family production in that Mark Wahlberg is not going to be the only member of his family in the movie! Mark Wahlberg's children visited the set in Detroit, Mark Wahlberg told Jimmy Fallon in an interview, and they were excited for their dad being in a movie for the first time ever, prompting Mark Wahlberg to ask Michael Bay if his kids could be in the movie. One impromptu audition later, and all four of the young Wahlbergs are going to appear in Transformers 4, possibly at scenes filmed in Chicago.

MTV had the pleasure of interviewing actor Mark Wahlberg and they dropped the good ol’ Dinobots question.
When asked whether there would be any Dinobots on Transformers 4 the actor replied "None of your business. You don't want me to get replaced halfway through production for divulging secrets". Mr. Wahlberg mentioned that the new installment feels unlike anything that has come before it, thanks in part to the character he has taken on. "It feels like a completely different movie, very fresh," he said. "Obviously, it's a really interesting dynamic, being a young, single dad having a teenage daughter, trying to succeed as an inventor, having very little means and also trying to provide for my family. Then all hell breaks loose." |

Today we are proud to share with you our first Botcon 2013 Exclusive Toy Galleries. Tonight we are kicking off with galleries of the five toys from this year's convention boxed set, Machine Wars Termination.
This year's boxed set showcased the myriad of the different aesthetics that exist in the Transformers line today, with the sleek clean designs of the Prime series, the retro styles of Generations and the highly detailed style of the Movie series. Though the styles vary, the choice of a unified theme in the colors - muted, homaging the original toys, and generally militaristic themed - means that the set does gel together nicely. And while some (Megaplex) stick out a bit, they all stand well as having generally some nice attractive decos, and being a fun homage to an obscure era of Transformers. Check out the galleries of the five boxed set toys by opening the link below - and check back again tomorrow for our next update! More new Transformers goodness has reached US stores! This time it's the second assortment of the cool Kre-O Micro Changer Combiners, which adds Defensor, Piranacon and Abominus into the mix. These three each include four transformable Kreons - with the remaining team members available in the blind-bagged single figure assortments. The four Kreons can transform, or be combined into a single, larger, robot. Many thanks to C310 Ginrai for the heads up, who spotted these in the Mission Valley Target in California!

Transformers 4 is filming in Detroit today at the set that was designed to double up as Hong Kong, and by all accounts, the action being filmed is a positively explosive action / fight scene involving Mark Wahlberg and others running out of a restaurant and sheltering behind Autobot Hound in vehicle mode. Lots of pictures of the filming have been posted, both from people observing the set and from news outlets including Michigan Movies and More and The Detroit Free Press, the latter of whom also has a report about what is going on today on set.
There are also some videos showing the action being filmed on set, of which this one by PishPosh.tv on Vimeo shows the lead up to the explosions (and Autobot Hound!) while this one from MLive shows a better view on the explosions which are in typical Michael Bay fashion. |

The next event for the Transformers Legends game has been posted, and begins today! Hot on the heels of the "Full Assault" event, we now have an event called "Covert Operations" which brings us a clash between Autobots Prowl and Blaster (and by the looks of it, his cassettes) and Soundwave (who has also brought minions along)
Autobot operations have seen a series of setbacks lately. Each incident in itself may seem harmless, but the Autobots Blaster and Prowl have seen a pattern emerging where every major Autobot operation is slowly hampered and brought to a slowdown. Too delicate for a regular Decepticon ploy, this Decepticon operation is all about stealth, infiltration and hit and run attacks. In a response the Autobots send their best operatives that are the perfect fit to counter this new threat… The poster is also tagged "arrival of the evolution cards" so we might also see some new gameplay features added with this event. |
