Massive Black, who did concept work for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers Dark of the Moon, have published a new volume collecting their concept work. The volume shows many heretofore unseen bits of work from both of the Transformers live action sequels as well as other projects that Massive Black has worked on, such as Infamous and G.I. Joe. A preview of the contents of the book is available on the website of the publisher, Ballistic Publishing.
Like what you see? Buy Massive Black Volume 2 at Amazon to support more volumes collecting concept work like this in future. |

New images posted on the ACToys BBS reveal a new third party Fall of Cybertron Onslaught figure. This toy, based more strongly on the concept artworks, is a similar size to the Voyager Class Grimlock and also includes additional combiner parts for the other Combaticons. As yet we have no information on who is making this unlicensed version of Onslaught - for now, check out the images to see what a "four Deluxes and Voyager core" style Bruticus might look like.

The Transformers Collector's Club have revealed another new addition to their Subscription Service. Joining the previously announced Chromedome, Treadshot and Fisitron for the Subscription Service Series Two is Barricade! This bad cop is based on the Transformers Universe aligned continuity design and is a straight up redeco of the Beast Hunters Prowl mold. One thing to bear in mind is that these images are mockups and may change in the final release version.

One of the first "big guys" of the G1 days, Omega Supreme has seen a few different (and not always official) incarnations. First seen during the 80's "G1" run of Transformers, the character was sparsely used until the Takara PVC and Hasbro Heroes of Cybertron line. He would pop up again during Energon before hiding away again for awhile. A surprising reissue and an appearance of Omega in the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron game have kept the character in the spotlight (not to mention a highly sought after 3rd party figure based on the character).

New scans from the September 2013 edition of Figure King magazine have been posted online via a Japanese image board. The September releases from Takara-Tomy are featured front and center with the gigantic Titan Class Metroplex getting a lot of attention - he's stomping into Japanese retail next month, in all his guns akimbo chrome faced glory. The other Generations release due next month, the Legends class two-pack of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee (and their Targetmasters) are also featured, alongside other new Generations releases due later in 2013 including the Megatron and Starscream Legends pack, and the Japanese release of Voyager Class Sandstorm.
The new toy goodness does not stop there, with space also being given to the coverage of the September Transformers Go! releases Judora (gold and purple Beast Hunters Skystalker for the Japanese market), Sensuimaru, Masterpiece Prowl (who can fit inside the compartments of Titan Metroplex!) and Transformers GT Maximus. The Transformers coverage in Figure King's September 2013 edition is rounded out with a look at the new Kabaya Transformers Gum and Gaia Scramble sets. |

Rumored to be appearing in Transformers 4 earlier this year, SuperHeroHype is reporting that they have received word that when production starts shooting in Chicago today it may indeed involve the Dinobots. The filming is expected to take place at McCormick Square. Do you think the Dinobots would translate well on the big screen? Click on the discussion link and let us know.

Chicago Tribune has posted some pics of Transformers 4 filming over at Chicago. It seems as though even the city of Chicago is a stand-in for China just as Detroit was.
During the early days of Transformers 4 filming, there were some rumors of Dinobots maybe appearing in Hong Kong. With the latest rumor of Dinobots scene may be filmed for Transformers 4 at Chicago today, there's now more fuel for this fire. The images also reveal the new Camera Crane which actor Mark Wahlberg spoke about recently. |

By way of this post on Reddit, we have a potential motherlode of Transformers 4 casting news for you! What you can find at Reddit is a Transformers 4 casting sheet distributed to extras which gives lots of character names - including confirmation that yes, Dinobots of some description are in Transformers 4! The casting sheet details over a dozen stunt experts being assigned to "Dinobot stunts" which, assuming this casting sheet is genuine and not a hoax, confirms Dinobots for Transformers 4 and also seemingly confirms they will be involved in some kind of major set piece.
That is not all that this sheet reveals though - there are lots of character names listed, including a group of robots! The robots are listed under Pic Cars and include: New Optimus, Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Drift, Hound, Lambo, Pagani, Cyclonus Two new names jump right out at us there - Crosshairs and Cyclonus are new to us. Crosshairs might be a new name for Slingshot who was previously rumored here. Cyclonus is completely new to us, but if his inclusion follows the original character's associations, then it might support the rumors of Galvatron appearing in Transformers 4 (although as the Movie series does its own thing, this is entirely conjecture on our part). Note that this listing also seems to confirm Drift, who was rumored to be the Bugatti at the same time as Slingshot was given as the name of the Corvette Stingray. Of interest also is that of the four named Autobots, three of them were seen in these on set videos driving through the streets of Detroit - material which again suggests that Drift and Crosshairs are the Bugatti and the Corvette respectively. The casting sheet also details the names of several of the human actors: Mark Wahlberg as Cade Stanley Tucci as Joshua Kelsey Grammer as (Harold) Attinger, previously confirmed Nicola Peltz as Tessa Jack Reynor as Shane Sophia Myles as Darcy Li Bingbing as Su Yueming Titus Welliver as Savoy TJ Miller as Lucas James Bachman as Gill Wembley Melanie Specht, Abigail Klein and Victoria Summer are all listed as playing executive assistants to Joshua Lastly, Ty Smith is listed as playing "SOG Agent #3", which leads one to question just what is SOG? The final item in this exceedingly long news post is that there are several set and scene descriptions. Spoilers ahead, these detail some potential plot points. There are many references to KSI, which is described as a campus. Several scenes are set to take place there involving Attinger, Joshua (Stanley Tucci's character) and Cade, Mark Wahlberg's character. The sequence of scenes appears to go that Cade is questioned by Attinger before being rescued by Bumblebee, Cade is also threatened and ridiculed by Joshua (something called Yeager Enterprises are also ridiculed). In what seems to be a separate scene bringing us back round to Dinobots, there is a scene listed where Darcy (Sophia Myles) challenges Joshua on a fossil find. Other scenes involving KSI involve the Autobots conducting surveillance, and there is a reference to five Autobots which are presumably Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Hound, Crosshairs and Drift. Crosshairs is specifically called for to do a driveby of the KSI campus. Lastly there are some stunts involving a Decepticon fighter, which have it crashing through a grating and back onto a street, and also doing the classic Hollywood stunt of flying down a tunnel with a fireball chasing it. Many of the stunts above are listed as taking place today August 24 and tomorrow August 25, so let's hope for some set videos to back up some of this material soon. |

TFW2005 member Sam Nickelson has shared this on-set picture from Chicago with the rest of us in the fandom. This latest set picture shows a wall of propaganda posters which tells us something about the tone of the next installment of the Transformers Movie series and how humanity are going to be viewing Cybertronians. Among the posters we can see:
The general atmosphere these posters are creating is one of fear and paranoia among the human populace - it seems that following Transformers Dark of the Moon, humanity is seeing all Transformers, good, evil and neutral, as a potential threat. It sounds as though Transformers 4 will be putting an almost X-Men type spin on the concept of "Robots in Disguise" - hiding from a populace that fears and hates them, that they are still honor-bound to protect and defend. |

Via Weibo we have a look at another unlicensed third party Fall of Cybertron Transformer. This latest one to be unveiled is an unofficial Fall of Cybertron Metroplex, based on his in-game design from Fall of Cybertron. He is shown to transform into a battle station in these renders, a mobile battle-base mode is not demonstrated.
Check out the images attached to this story. Is an unofficial Metroplex needed in a world where Hasbro have already given us a Classics style Metroplex, especially when the price tag is likely to be in excess of that of an official Metroplex? Share your thoughts in the discussion thread on our 2005 Boards. |
