For our next gallery update, we wish to draw your attention to the sterling work that 2005 photo staff member SydneyY has been doing on the latest all-new Transformers molds to come out of Japan, the Transformers Go! Samurai Swordbots. Named Kenzan, Jinbu and Ganoh, these three Autobots were awakened when Budora and Gaidora of the Predacon Oni Team attempted to seize an artifact known as "Legendisc". Armed with weapons befitting their samurai backstory, the trio also possess a special combination ability to allow the three to merge into three distinct combined forms, emphasizing and powering up each Autobot's unique skills and abilities.
As toys, the trio hark back to the Transformers Galaxy Force / Transformers Cybertron line of big and chunky toys with futuristic alternate modes and simpler transformations, but cool and playable gimmicks to go with it. Of the three Kenzan is a bit of an all-rounder with a cool (and refreshingly big) car mode. He's nicely proportioned and poseable in robot mode, and a nice detail is a topknot on the back of his head. Jinbu has a slender build to emphasize that he's all about speed - though this makes him the weakest of the three, with overlong legs. Lastly Ganoh is a big, chunky robot with a nice heft to him, who fights with a drill-tipped spear. He turns into a nice, big fire rescue vehicle, and is the most solidly built of the three. The main gimmick of the trio is their ability to combine. All three can form either the arms & head, torso or legs of a combiner. Each of the three comes with a "Kabuto" which attaches to the combined forms to complete the look. Of the three combiners, Gokenzan is the most balanced and solid of the three, thanks to Ganoh's big legs providing some nice stability. Gojinbu and Goganoh both have a very cool look, but as Kenzan and Jinbu respectively form slimmer legs than Ganoh, standing the combined forms can sometimes prove challenging. Overall these three toys are great and retro-styled, inoffensively reminding us of an earlier era of Transformers and the sister series to Transformers, Brave. The retro style may not appeal to all, but it is carried off very well, and there is a whole lot of fun to be had in combining these three into their reassuringly huge combined modes. Keith's Fantasy Club teamed up with Auto Assembly to bring fans the Auto Assembly 2013 custom figure kit - Bad Cop! Based on the concepts for Transformers Universe Barricade, this kit includes everything you need to customize a First Edition Transformers Prime Vehicon into a Transformers Prime Barricade.
The kit is nice and easy to do - all you need is a little superglue to fix on the lightbar, and a careful hand to apply the stickers. Since the head is on a balljoint you can just pop the Vehicon's head off and plug in the Barricade head, though I found I needed to just gently shave a little plastic off the socket for the ball joint for the best fit. The final effect is excellent - the new head perfectly captures the look and feel of a Transformers Prime character, and the half a dozen main stickers - two for the doors, two for the rear wheel arches and a two-part one for the roof - help to complete the look. In vehicle mode, Bad Cop looks very cool and dynamic, with the additional details added by the stickers complementing the existing look of the Vehicon's vehicle mode nicely. In robot mode, some of the new details are hidden but the stickers on the vehicle's sides are now on the arms, which together with the new head gives the robot mode its own identity. Bad Cop was produced in very limited quantities for Auto Assembly. If you were able to get your hands on one of these kits, congratulations, you own one of the cooler third party "garage kit" sets on the market. If you are a fan of Transformers Prime and get a chance to pick up this kit, I recommend you go for it - it is a great complement to any Transformers Prime collection. Wal-Mart have updated their site listings for the Bot Shots Combaticons Five Pack with a pair of images of the set. The images show the five Combaticons in and out of box - although only one mode for each are shown so it is hard to work out who is going to be a reuse of which mold - that being said this set seems to debut a new mold for Vortex, as he appears to be our first helicopter Bot Shot! Check out the images to see him and Decepticon Brawl, Blast-Off, Onslaught and Swindle in Bot Shot form!

Few months ago the production studio of Transformers 4 including producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura initiated a Reality TV Show in China to select new actors for Transformers 4. Now, they have selected four artists for the movie after four months (wait-a-minute… Transformers 4, Four Actors, Four Months!?! Oh, I see what they did there!).
"I want everybody to have fun," Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the film's producer who has produced all the Transformers movies, told China.org.cn about the producers' decision to recruit actors through a TV contest aired on the China Movie Channel. "We are always looking for different ways to learn about other cultures. This is a great way to see people's passion and excitement. It allows for everybody to have fun together," he added. Byron Li, Austin Lin, Candice Zhao, Teresa Daley eventually won the much-coveted movie parts Sunday night on the "'Transformers 4 Chinese Actors Talent Search Reality Show," launched by Paramount Pictures in cooperation with Jiaflix and the China Movie Channel in April. The contest was open to both professional and amateur actors, attracting more than 70,000 contestants. You can read more thanks to the lengthy article by China.org. |

Time to churn the rumor mill. Tonyformer of 2005 Boards is informing us that we might get to see the creation process of the Dinobots of Transformers 4 in an upcoming Featurette by ILM (Industrial Light & Magic; the CGI artists of Transformers Live Action Movies). Exact date for the ILM Featurette is not set, but we can expect to see it the same way we saw the previous Featurettes of Driller and Devastator for Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen respectively.
According to Tonyformer - ILM team members will be wearing special Transformers 4 caps during the Featurette. The caps will have the current TF4 Logo with [Robot] Dinosaur claw prints. Hearing what Tonyformer said, 2005 Boards Member TunaKaan quickly whipped up a mock logo. We thought to share his creativity by posting the image with this news post. |

Fans of black Prime repaints rejoice! Hobby Ark Toy Story on Facebook has listed a new preorder for an upcoming Black version of Arms Micron 28, Lio Convoy. This figure has been made available previously as Transformers Prime Thundertron and as the previously mentioned Arms Micron Lio Convoy. The figure is listed for a December 2013 release. Interestingly, for an Arms Micron release, the listing mentions it will not require stickers and will come fully painted. No mention in the listing on the figures Micron figure, or if it will even include one.

More and more evidence is popping up left and right with info carrying the involvement of the Dinobots for Transformers 4. The latest news is from a sheet announcing upcoming toylines for Toys "R" Us.
Assuming that the sheet is legit, it seems as though we'll be seeing a TF4 Toyline with greater emphasis on the Dinobots. The image is from a twitter account by demoncarnotaur and till we receive concreate evidence, keep this toyline news as a RUMOR. |

Also in Transformers comics news, digital entertainment company Madefire announced on their Twitter Feed that Transformers Autocracy, Episode 1 has now been released as a "Motion Comic." Motion Comics are a hybrid between a comic book and a cartoon, with limited animation, sound effects, and even music being added to the digital version of a comic book. This marks the first time that a Transformers book has been adapted into this format.
A link to a short preview appears after the break. |

While Charticon 2013 just wrapped up a few weekends ago, there is still cool things happening as a result of Charlotte, North Carolina's inaugural, unofficial Transformers convention! One of the events at the convention was a charity auction for an organization named A Child's Place. TFW2005's own flywheels organized the Charticon 2013 Charity Auction, and several members here from TFW2005.COM also helped flywheels with the auction as well giving their own donations to the charity. Charticon and A Child's Place updated their Facebook pages with this:
"The Charticon event raised more than $3,000 for A Child's Place. The event organizers were even kind enough to donate some Transformer toys to our client children too."If you're curious, A Child's Place is an organization that "works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education." It strives to help "families [who] are the working poor. For them, homelessness is not a way of life; it’s a time in their lives. By minimizing the impact of this difficult time on the children and their academic growth, ACP contributes to their likelihood of breaking the cycle of poverty." For more information about A Child's Place, be sure to visit their Facebook page as well as their website! Many thanks to all who donated and participated in the charity auction and the donation! A special "thank you" to Charticon 2013 guest and voice actor Hal Rayle for his wonderful work as the charity auction's auctioneer! You can check out photos of him in action after the jump! If you would be interested in sending a donation, please contact A Child's Place directly or contact the Charticon Staff by sending an email to charticon@gmail.com (title the message "I would like to make a donation"). |

Calvin Johnson is a star wide receiver for the Detroit Lions. He was nicknamed Megatron due to his freakish athletic ability. Since hitting the NFL, he's signed with Nike, and Hasbro has embraced his Megatron monicker. Previously, they've released Calvin Johnson "Megatron" themed kicks and gear. Now, it seems that CJ81 is getting his own toy! Well, maybe. eBay seller lena81822 who is known for getting stuff in China very early, put up several auctions for a Generations Megatron Bomber (one out now), in a deco featuring Calvin Johnson's autograph, a football with a Decepticon symbol, and the G1 inspired gradient seen on CJ's previous Nike/TF sneaker releases.
This could have been a "lunch time special" by the guys at the factory in China, it could be a round of test shots done by Hasbro never to see the light of day,a very small batch could have been done for promotional purposes and these are the extras. Or, it could be the preview copies for a wide release. No one knows, but feel free to check out all the images over on eBay! |
