The official Transformers Facebook page has posted a brief preview passage from the new Aligned-continuity novel Transformers Retribution, available in bookstores from tomorrow. In this passage, Optimus Prime and Megatron realise that they are being manipulated by the nefarious Quintesson race - and Optimus Prime learns that even the collective wisdom in the Matrix of Leadership may not help him!
Check out the brief excerpt and then be sure to check out the full novel when it hits stores tomorrow. |

Simon Furman has posted some notes on his blog regarding next week's new issue of Transformers Regeneration 1, issue #98. Without spoiling anything, he teases a lot of the developments in the issue - including that by the time you are finished reading, "this issue should leave no one in any doubt about [Jhiaxus'] lofty niche in the pantheon of Transformers villainy". Sounds like we might learn a bit more about the goals of Jhiaxus in this series!
Check out Simon's thoughts here. That's not all though, because artist Stephen Baskerville has also shared a piece of art - featuring "affirmative action" Rodimus Prime - on his Facebook page. Be sure to check it out as well as we get ready for issue #98 of the final arc of this conclusion of the original Marvel Comics Generation 1 story! |

Shout! Factory have put up listings for a new DVD release of the original Transformers Generation 1 cartoon series. The packaging art looks largely the same as the previous releases - just with a "thrilling thirty" logo on the packaging - so expect these to be the same as their last release, just reissued in time for the 30th anniversary. They are due for release on 4/29/14, so they will be right on time to celebrate the anniversary! Check out the order pages on Shout's website:

Idle Hands Blog has received info from Hasbro UK after the Toy Fair regarding their upcoming toylines planned for 2014.
Among the info we can see when we’ll see certain Transformers: Age Of Extinction figures. There are some never before heard info as well. Also, the blog informs us of the Battle Master toyline as well as the new Rescue Bots toyline featuring Optimus Primal. We will also see Angry Birds Transformers as well. This could very well be a line similar to the Star Wars Transformers Optimus Primal: Ages 3-7, Available Autumn 2014 Introducing Optimus Prime as you have never seen him before! This large-scale Optimus Primal figure converts from robot to T-Rex! The Optimus Primal figure comes to life with lights and over 20 sounds and phrases and offers distinct play with 2 modes- Bot and Dino. Easily convery from robot to T-Rex with a simple twist, but Optimus Primal has one touch conversion from Dino to Bot mode. Other features include real Dino chomping action, a rescue platform in Dino mode that works with the 2 inch figure world and a working rescue drill. We are hiding the Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction toy info from the front page due to Spoiler reasons. Check them out after the jump. |

Professor Hov reports finding the Generations deluxe Wave 2 figures at his local Target store in Hollywood, California. This wave features the Fall of Cybertron version of Skywarp, the old but new again Armada Starscream, Targetmaster Scoop and a three pack of combining Assault Minicons.
Hopefully this is a sign that new Legends, Voyagers and other Transformer toys will be hitting the shelves soon! Are you finding new Transformer toys at your local retail stores? Share your findings in our Sightings Forum! |

It was only about a week ago that we brought you the news of Amazon listing a First Edition Transformers: Age of Extinction Optimus Prime figure. Many of us had speculated that this particular mold was a Voyager.
Looks like we were dead wrong. Thanks to TFW2005 member Niv3k courtesy of the Planet Iacon Facebook page, we have a size comparison image of the figure standing alongside MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Leader class Optimus Prime. As we can see here... he's HUGE. As in, he's Leader-sized. He actually appears to be slightly bigger than ROTF Leader Prime. The listing on Amazon is unfortunately no longer up, although it should come back soon. The figure's large size should go a long way towards justifying its $60 price. However, this does, of course, raise a few questions. If this one is actually Leader-sized, then what does it mean for the NYCC Prime, which was reportedly a Leader figure as well? Are there TWO Leader Primes in this line? Was the NYCC one simply mislabeled, and is actually a Voyager? It HAS been reported that the NYCC Prime was rather small for a Voyager, so... Speculate away in the discussion thread! UPDATE: We now have a few other images as well - one with Prime in a cool looking pose, and another comparison image with ROTF Leader Prime. |

Thanks to Brazilian site Omelete, we have a new article that might spoil some of the plot points from Transformers: Age of Extinction.
There's no confirmation, so you can take it with a grain of salt. But it surely is consistent with what we already know about the movie. And there are some interesting details. You can read it after the jump if you don't mind the possible SPOILERS. Enjoy! |

With the Nuremberg and New York Toy Fair events just on the horizon, TFW2005 Site Sponsor Big Bad Toy Store has revealed just who is new in 2014's fifth Generations wave of Deluxes: Arcee and Chromia! Originally discovered in a Hasbro database leak back in October, this is the first semi-official reveal that these toys actually exist. The contents of Wave 4 are not known at this time (with Wave 3 being Rattrap, Crosscut, and Tankor. Preorders for Wave 3 are also up on BBTS over here.) The wave is currently listed as a March 2014 release, but with the wave prior being listed as April, the date might be an error.
As there are no photos, it is not known at this time what the upcoming fembots look like, or what molds they are. Do you think they'll share a mold? Do you think they'll be retools of a prior release? Sound off in the discussion thread by clicking here. Be sure to stick with the TFW2005 network over the next few weeks as we bring you the latest Toy Fair news as it happens. |

Shogo Hasui, the current lead designer of the TakaraTomy Masterpiece Transformers line, recently updated his Twitter feed with the image mirrored here showing off the upcoming the missile launcher from Masterpiece Wheeljack MP-20. A Google translation of the tweet text gives us a little more information about the the launcher:
"Magnet gun of the right shoulder of the MP-20 foil Jack is supposed to be able to give them some elevation, pulling out the missile part. The missile is at least detachable from the launcher, and the missile can be pulled out. However, there's no indication of anything further as to whether or not it has a feature to launch it by way of any sort of trigger. Either way, it's still really exciting to see more and more of this anticipated release! |

Producer Jeff Kline spoke to Keep Me Current, to let us in on the fact that the next Transformers animated series is in production:
"Q: Of everything you’ve done, and everything you could do, why comic books? A: Well, I’ve been almost five years going back and forth between the coasts. I’d like to live here more full-time. But it’s really hard to run a show from 3,000 miles away and, for the time being anyway, it seems like it’s going to be a hard time to get the networks to let me run an animated series out of Portland. I do still have a development deal with Hasbro. I have another “Transformers” series coming; that’s in full-blown production right now. I have a documentary I executive-produced that’s coming out this year, as well as other TV and movie projects, but I’ve been looking for something I can do from here. With comic books, you don’t have to be on a studio lot. It’s a lot of working with freelancers who can be anywhere in the country. It’s a business that’s very used to happening not in person. So, it’s a good business to start from my home in Cape Elizabeth." |
