This isn't traditional news per say, but something cool from the 2005 Boards we ran across this morning. 2005 Boards member Tanglebrook has edited together a high quality video showcasing all the transformation sequences from the first 3 Transformers Movies. It lasts about 10 minutes, and takes you on a rapid fire walk down memory lane. Check it out below, and let him know what you think by clicking discuss!

It's been a while, hasn't it? With the new year, a new project has begun here on TFW2005 and that project is to bring back our Creative Spotlight features (which focus on the highlights of the various creative subforums here on TFW) for you dear readers. Things are a little different than before, as rather than feature a single TFW2005 member and interview them, we'll be sharing the love a lot more often than before. There are two big rules though: Only customs we select that are COMPLETED in the month of the Spotlight are included (WIPs will still be up for inclusion in the month they are finished) and we'll be limiting the spotlights to one creation per user, per month (unless the multiple customs are very clearly part of a set.) With the rules out of the way, let's move on to the customs!
Like the return of the Creative Spotlights? Sound off in the discussion thread! We'll be back after the month of Feburary with the next Spotlight and overall just thanks for sticking with TFW2005 through the New Year! Don't forget: Keep an eye out on the entire TFW2005 Network as we bring you our 2014 New York Toy Fair coverage in a few weeks, as well as the latest updates, news and rumors for Transformers: Age of Extinction and more! |

Mech Ideas, makers of the awesome Demolition Crue two pack, have provided an update to their upcoming Techno Toon Titan. The group has been quiet about the project for some time now, leading fans to think it had been possibly cancelled. Thankfully Cenokibble stopped by the other day to let us know that the project is still going and he provided us with a render of the two unofficial Animated Bots Bluster and Trench (aka Not-Animated Huffer and pipes). Cenokibble states that the figures will feature:

This is a preview figure out to market a bit earlier than the full AoE toy line which is set for May 2014. In the States, he is an Amazon.com exclusive, and due to their awesome Prime membership, folks could actually have this in hand the following day.

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard has recently updated the fandom regarding the long-delayed Transformers Universe game, announcing plans for the former MMORPG and current MOBA (or as they are referring to it as, MOTA- or Massively Online Tactical Action game.) to be released this Summer.
My name is Mark Gerhard and I’m the CEO & CTO of Jagex. We’re probably better known as the developers of the world’s largest free browser game RuneScape but now, following the past 3 years of development, Transformers Universe! Many of you joined us on our journey for the first time when we shared a sneak peek into our aspiration for the game back in 12/12/12. Since then we’ve refined our vision, gameplay, tech and team to bring you what we believe will be the start of an entertaining, social and competitive game for all of you to enjoy over the next decade and beyond! 2013 was a critical year in the evolution of Transformers Universe. It was essential that we just knuckled down and got on with the core gameplay, and that unfortunately meant there was not much news to share for anyone outside of Jagex. However from today onwards you can expect regular updates, and soon all start participating first-hand as the game moves from core development, through each stage of community participation, balancing, polish and iteration. So here’s the big news. We are 100% set to launch Transformers Universe this Summer, and will be progressively inviting an ever-widening portion of the BETA community to enjoy the game before opening it to the rest of the world this summer! With that in mind, let’s talk a bit more about the game itself. We’ve built a massively online, tactical action game, or MOTA as I like to call it! Transformers Universe offers fast-paced, battle centric, tactical action with a selection of game modes for core gamers, casual gamers and Transformers enthusiasts alike. As the Commander of a new squad, you will recruit, maintain and battle others with a unique collection of Transformers warriors created in collaboration with our friends at Hasbro. Autobots versus Decepticons, you’ll team up to play with and against other Commanders around the world in tactical and strategic online battles, competing for supremacy in the global faction war. Legendary Transformers characters will make special appearances – but more on that another time! Your squad of Bots are a faction-specific collection with their own play styles, weaponry, augment options and specialties. There are countless fighting strategies when battling them and we really believe they will crystallise, embody and capture both what Transformers is all about and your imaginations. So what’s next? Well, very soon we’re going to be releasing our first in-engine trailer, which will give you a first look at some of the playable Bots in the game. We’ll be posting up exclusive in-game screenshots soon, so you can see the game coming together. You will be the first people to see them, and naturally deserve nothing less. What else should you expect from Transformers Universe in 2014? After the trailer we’ll also be launching numerous other initiatives; kicking-off our BETA program first, revealing and detailing the games major features and modes, spotlighting the new characters that you’ll be able to own in-game and a whole lot more. The best place to get all relevant information will be right here on this website. You’re a central part of what will make the Transformers Universe community special, so please do sign up to our channels on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and the official forums. 2014 is the launch year for Transformers Universe and the start of an epic journey as you #testyourmetal. Soon you’ll be able to experience this for yourself as we roll out to BETA. |

Now that the first trailer for Transformers: Age Of Extinction is out there, we are slowly starting to hear more about Transformers 4 Merchandise.
For the 4th movie, it seems as though we have quite a lot of licensed material based on the Hasbro Property. And one such license holder is Tech4Kids. For the upcoming Michael Bay movie, the company will be manufacturing super-deformed figures based on their most famous toy line; The Mash'ems. This product line will contain figures such as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Drift, Crosshairs and Lockdown (speculated as AOE Mash'ems Series 1 and 2). The company will also manufacture AOE Spar Bags. The bags are water filled and will feature Optimus Prime or Lockdown posing (image from head to toe, not just the faces). In order to spar with the Spar Bags the kids can purchase Bumblebee Fists (again, kind of Super-deformed fists). The fists will contain motion activated sound effects. We have no info regarding whether there will be a Decepticon inspired set of fists, since punching Optimus as Bumblebee just wouldn't feel right. The company will also manufacture similar merchandise for the upcoming movie "Ninja Turtles". Image Courtesy: Idle Hands Blog. |

Yesterday we brought you details of Transformers: Age Of Extinction merchandise by Tech4Kids. Today we are bringing you TF4 merchandise info from another license-holder; Nikko Radio Control.
Many months back, we revealed for the first time that popular radio controlled toy vehicle manufacturer Nikko R/C has signed a 3 year deal with Hasbro to manufacture R/C Vehicles based on the vehicles from Transformers: Age Of Extinction. A month ago, we saw a brief glimpse of the toyline thanks to the UK Toy Fair 2014. Today, we have with us the official images and info courtesy of Nikko.
All toys come with LED lights and sounds as well as shock-proof bodies. Both transforming and non-transforming Bumblebee R/C cars are of 1:16 Scale. Same applies for the Lockdown non-transforming vehicle (image not included) as well. Optimus Prime transforming R/C vehicle will come with his Sword Of Judgment and Sentinel Shield while Bumblebee will also carry a shield (yet unnamed). Speaking of "unnamed", the company will also manufacture a mysterious Age Of Extinction R/C Helicopter that they will keep unnamed for spoiler reasons. The helicopter is a 3.5 channel radio controlled vehicle. You can check out all the images we got, after the jump. Right now, most of you are waiting for the actual reveal of the Hasbro's "Authentic Transformer" toyline. We are only 9 days away from Toy Fair New York 2014 and be sure to stay tuned with TFW2005; we bring you the best Transformers news… always. |

Thanks to The Mary Sue website, he now have an exclusive interview with Mairghread Scott, writer of the 4 part comic series ''Meet Windblade''.
It's a really good interview where she talks about Windblade, the bots appearing alongside her, and her place in the Transformers world. Also article includes exclusive previews of Windblade supporting characters by artist Sarah Stone; Blurr, Chromia, and Starscream! Here's a little snippet from the article. You can read the rest of it from here, and check the new character art after the jump. ''Jaydot: The TFWiki entry about Windblade is pretty sparse. We know she’s got a “fancy sword” and turns into a jet, and there’s almost literally no other info about her. Without getting into too much background detail, which I understand might be spoilery, can you elaborate at all on who/what Windblade is? Mairghread: To be fair, beyond being a jet and a sword fighter I started with a pretty blank slate when I developed Windblade, so don’t fault the wiki for that one. The most important thing for me when constructing Windblade was to make her a fully three-dimensional (read: flawed) character, so if I had to pick one word to describe her I would say that Windblade is trying. She’s an optimistic, hard-working Transformers character who is genuinely interested in helping others, but she’s also been dropped in the aftermath of a millennia (for real) long war that she was not really part of, so while she’s a very competent character, she’s way behind the curve when it comes to knowing who’s who and what’s what on Cybertron. This actually makes Transfomers: Windblade a really good starting point for new readers because almost everything on Cybertron is as new to her as it is to someone just entering the brand.'' |
