In 2011, Earth went dark – at least, such was the tagline of Transformers 3! Transformers: Dark of the Moon was the third release in the Transformers live-action movie franchise, and rounded out a loose trilogy formed by the first three live action movies. As always director Michael Bay and Paramount delivered a special effects tour de force, this time in 3D! The Aligned continuity continued to grow and gather pace, with the first full season of Transformers Prime and a follow up to the novel Exodus, called Exiles. Hasbro also kicked off their push to expand the appeal of Transformers by introducing a new Playskool Heroes Transformers series, Transformers Rescue Bots, and they also introduced the new building-block system Kre-O, which was all about Transformers. Amid all this, Takara-Tomy rolled out a new Masterpiece Convoy, the MP-10 Convoy Version 2, which was a new and smaller interpretation of Optimus Prime in the Masterpiece series, setting the trend for a whole line of new Masterpieces…

Via a new listing on Toys R Us' Canadian site and Amazon.ca we have received confirmation that there is a new Rescue Bot toy coming soon to bolster the lineup. Rubble the Haul Bot is the name of this latest Rescue Bot, who was first revealed in the infamous Hasbro customer services product list leak. There are no pictures yet, but from his title, we would imagine he is a dump truck or similar type of construction vehicle. Stay tuned for more information.

More Age of Extinction sighting news for you tonight - it seems like the Age of Extinction Titan figures are also slipping through the street date of the line - 12 May for online and 17 May for brick and mortar, for those keeping track. The Titan figures are the big, non-transforming plastic figures with low poseability, perfect for younger fans. The first assortment of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Drift were spotted at a Kroger Marketplace in Fort Wayne IN by 2005 Boards member Rook Bartley!

Transformers Colombia Facebook page has been updated with some images from the Titan line for Transformers: Age Of Extinction and Transformers: Rescue Bots.

This is the first time we are seeing Titan figures of Grimlock, Blades, Boulder and the elusive Silver Knight Optimus Prime.

These Titan figures are actually non-transforming doll like plastic figures with limited articulation and should not be confused with the Titan Class which includes Metroplex.

This is the first time we are seeing the Silver Knight in a toy form. It is speculated that this is the third Robot Mode for Optimus Prime in Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

We've mirrored the images with this news post. Check 'em out, after the jump.

In 2012 the Transformers Prime toyline made its debut almost a year after the show first arrived on screens, with Japan also getting a toyline all of its own complete with several Japan-only releases. Transformers Prime entered its second season on the Hub, and a new Transformers show for younger audiences based on the Rescue Bots toys also launched. The Transformers returned to video game consoles with the Fall of Cybertron, with a line of Generations toys released to coincide with it. IDW relaunched its comics as well, with John Barber and James Roberts helming new ongoing series Robots in Disguise and More than Meets the Eye, while Simon Furman returned to the classic Generation 1 comics continuity that began with The Transformers #1 in 1984 in the form of the Regeneration 1 comic series.

Courtesy of an ebay auction listing, we have our first full look at in hand images of the upcoming Generations Rattrap figure! Beast Wars fans rejoice!

The auction shows off several in hand images of both the robot mode and beast mode, so we're starting to get a better idea of what this figure will be like. Although the uncertainty is still there due to the Age Of Extinction toy line, this figure should be released to toy store shelves around June.

Check out the images after the break and let us know how excited you are to add Rattrap to your collection!

At last another piece of the puzzle has been revealed! On the leaked Hasbro toy list some time ago, there were a series of listings for something called "Age of Extinction Legion class" in both single releases and two-pack releases. Via the Transformers Facebook page, we now know these releases are a mix of previous Cyberverse Legion figures (both past Movie Legends and Legion Cyberverse, and Prime Cyberverse). The two packs feature some larger toys from Transformers Energon and Beast Wars. It's a very odd assortment! Check out the images attached to this post, 16 in total.

Releases seen for this assortment so far:

Legion Single Packs

Bumblebee (from Revenge of the Fallen Legends Bumblebee)
Stinger (from Transformers Prime Cyberverse Legion Knock Out)
Optimus Prime (from Revenge of the Fallen Legends Optimus Prime)
Grimlock (from Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion Rippersnapper)

Legion Two Packs

Bumblebee and Strafe (Bumblebee as above, Strafe is a redeco of Beast Wars Basic Terrorsaur)
Stinger and Slug (Stinger is a redeco of Revenge of the Fallen Legends Sideways, Slug is a redeco of Beast Wars Neo Guiledart / Dinobots Triceradon)
Optimus Prime and Grimlock (Optimus Prime as above, Grimlock is a redeco of Transformers Energon Cruellock)

Legion Bumblebee VS Stinger set - Bumblebee is the Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Legion Bumblebee with a Prime Cyberverse Bumblebee blaster. Stinger is the Prime Legion Knock Out as before, with a Prime Cyberverse Ratchet blade weapon. Strafe is the Age of Extinction Generations Deluxe toy.

2013 brought a year of endings and beginnings to the Transformers brand – not only was it the year that Transformers Prime ended, but it was also the year that saw several key members of the Transformers brand team, many of whom had worked on the brand since Transformers Armada or earlier, part ways with Hasbro – but not before unleashing the single biggest Transformer toy ever built. On the front of new beginnings, buzz and hype began to build for Transformers 4, and the Transformers Generations line transitioned to a new “comic pack in” style, bundling IDW’s Transformers comics with the Deluxe class toys.

The swarm of Transformers AOE merchandise continues to come in as the toy line release date inches closer. In this round up we've received a few notifications of retail purchases of the Dino Sparkers. These toys are targeted towards the younger audience of our fan base, but more importantly it features Optimus Prime and other Transformers riding Grimlock and the Dinobots, which obviously will become a staple image of the Age Of Extinction toy line.

Third Party group Megasteel revealed their next project titled MS-01, which will be their version of a roughly voyager sized Megatron figure. From the image we received it looks like this figure will be capturing some aesthetic cues from Megatron's from the Stormbringer IDW comic book.

No price or ordering information is up yet, but feel free to speculate about the project in the discussion thread!

For those collectors waiting on a bit of news on the status of the Transformers Subscription Service 2.0 offered by the Transformers Collector's Club, we have something for you! In an unexpected way, it appears some figures from the Subscription Service, as well as BotCon and the TCC Exclusive figure have been shown off a little earlier than expected.

Courtesy of in hand images from what appears to be a factory leak, we have our first look at the TFSS 2.0 figures Ironfist and Barricade, along with their assembled Micron partners. Also shown are our first images of the TCC Exclusive figure Transmutate in its motorcycle alternate mode. Wrapping up the surprise is an alt mode picture of one of BotCon's box set figures this year: Cannonball.

The good news is with this update we might be able to assume the TFSS figures are closer to being ready to be shipped out to fans. The bad news is, the surprise may have been ruined!

Check out the images after the jump.

If you want that little extra something to spice up your Transformers collection room, you could do a lot worse than check out these Age of Extinction wall decals from Fathead.com. Running to nearly $100 each, there are individual ones of Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Bumblebee and Lockdown, plus an Optimus Prime riding Grimlock and two sets of five smaller decals - one of the robots and one of the vehicle modes. They are pretty cool and nicely show off the artwork of the new movie's designs, so be sure to check it out if this is what interests you.

The official Transformers Facebook page has updated, today showing off the Target exclusive releases in the Age of Extinction line. The exclusive releases that will only be available from Target in the US include the following:

Voyager Grimlock and Deluxe Optimus Prime Two-Pack - Grimlock is the Fall of Cybertron toy, with a Generation 1 style deco. Optimus Prime is a silver chromed version of the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Optimus Prime, armed with one of the Generation 1 Predacon swords.
Construct Bots Grimlock and Optimus Prime Two-Pack - A set of the Construct Bots Age of Extinction Grimlock and Dinobot Rider Optimus Prime, with Optimus Prime once again in silver.
Smash and Change Silver Optimus Prime - The Age of Extinction Flip and Change / Smash and Change figure, redecoed in grey. Notice a trend developing?
Titan Silver Optimus - last but not least, the Titan Optimus Prime figure is also done up in silver as a "Silver Optimus", in this case it's a flat silver figure and largely completely unpainted save some gold effect that almost looks like yellowing.

The theme of the Target exclusives definitely seems to be based around offering "silver knight" versions of Optimus Prime.

Warbotron have updated their Facebook page with images of their unofficial Combaticon Brawl, WB01-B "Noisy". This unlicensed Transformer is heavily based on the original 1986 Decepticon Brawl, and comes with an assortment of weapons including the ability to wield the tank gun as a rifle. Check out the new images and see what you make of this new release.

Happy 30th birthday Transformers!

On the 30th birthday of Transformers we arrive in 2014. In this concluding chapter please join us as we look ahead to the promise of the 30th anniversary year of the Transformers, and catch up on what has already transpired this year, on this day, 30 years on from that very first Marvel Transformers comic written by Mantlo and Macchio and edited by Bob Budiansky which started it all.
