Some of you guys might remember our report on Frito-Lay's Transformers 4 Age of Extinction campaign in Turkey. Each package includes a password card which include different character images such as 3D renders or package arts which we see on toy packages.
Fellow 2005 Boards member ersankasal managed to collect most of them, and kindly scanned and posted them in our forum. They include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Drift, Hound, Lockdown, Grimlock, Strafe, and... Slog! He was rumored to have a Generations Voyager class toy, but most considered him a Slug typo. There he is, in his full glory, appears to be based on Generation 1 Sludge which takes the form of an Apatosaurus. You can check out his package art, and other images at the attachments after the jump, and follow TFW as we bring you the best news, first! |

New images have surfaced in Japanese hobby magazines of an Optimus EVA Prime - an Optimus Prime styled version of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime EVA-01. The deco closely matches Optimus Prime's - but is it a cross over too far for you, readers?
According to our sponsors Robot Kingdom, this one is coming in 2015. |

Hasbro was kind enough to send through a care package with some of the upcoming Age of Extinction toys. TFW2005 has photo galleries and thoughts on them all for you today. Yes, many of them are out via multiple channels already and our awesome community has been sharing their thoughts, but since they are still technically not out yet, hopefully you'll still find it worth a read

Courtesy of a new Amazon Japan listing for the next issue of the Transformers Generations Volume 1, we have our look at the exclusive figure being offered. This year it is repaint of the Transformers Classics Astrotrain mold as Trainbot Shouki. Additional pictures from Hero-x show the figure in full and in all three modes. Also revealed is Shouki's Targetmaster partner, Daniel, which is a reuse of the Powercore Combiner minicon Groundspike. In space shuttle mode, Shouki reveals a Decepticon symbol, which along with Daniel's color scheme, acts a secondary homage to Micromaster Skystalker. This figure will be available as a bonus only if you order the new Generations book. No word yet on when it will be made available to order.
For now, enjoy this really cool and unexpected character choice and discuss on the 2005 Boards! |

Here is a very appropriate and awesome thing to share with you on this 30th anniversary of Transformers! 2005 Boards member CautionLowSign has shared with us via Facebook something extremely rare and awesome from the earliest days of Transformers Generation 1 - the original photograph slides used to create the box and instruction leaflet photography of Generation 1 Optimus Prime and Grimlock.
The Optimus Prime photos were used in the original Generation 1 Optimus Prime instruction booklet which used photos of the toy. The pictures of Grimlock, meanwhile, were used on Grimlock's box for the sequence depicting the transformation of the toy (the "Start... change... change... finish" sequence). These are a fantastic glimpse at a real part of Transformers history, a part of the rarely seen behind the scenes process that created the earliest Transformers packaging - be sure to check out his Facebook gallery of these rare photos and be sure to tell him thanks for sharing! |

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction director Michael Bay, updated his website with a VERY special announcement. Golden Globe winning actor John Goodman (The Big Lebowski) and Oscar nominated actor Ken Watanabe (Inception, Godzilla) will join the voice cast of the movie as Hound and Drift, alongside some returning voice actors, such as Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, John DiMaggio, Mark Ryan, Robert Foxworth and Reno Wilson.
DiMaggio (voice of Leadfoot from Dark of the Moon) will provide the voice of Crosshairs, while Mark Ryan (Bumblebee, Jetfire) will take the throne from Lance Henriksen as the voice of Lockdown. Welker will be the voice of Galvatron and Foxworth and Wilson will reprise their roles as Ratchet and Brains. Here's what Michael Bay has to say; “I am pleased to welcome two gifted and versatile actors, John Goodman and Ken Watanabe, to the world of Transformers. And to reteam with Peter and Frank, who have brought Transformers characters alive from the beginning. I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the best voice talent in the business, and together we will introduce several exciting new robots to fans of the franchise around the world.” |

Transformers Columbia Facebook page just posted the official images of Transformers 4 Age of Extinction Leader Class Bumblebee.
We heard rumours about a third leader figure alongside Optimus Prime and Grimlock. Most of us have hoped that it would be a new character like Galvatron, until we saw this one at the Australian Toy Fair early this year. It appears that it's a repaint of the Dark of the Moon Leader Bumblebee with his new TF4 paint scheme. And minus the Mechtech weapon. Check out the images at the attachments. |

Via Transformers Colombia, we have a look at two of the Target Exclusive Silver Knight Optimus Prime toys in package - the Titan class figure, and the Flip & Change version. Both versions interestingly are redecos of the existing new model Optimus Prime, though their box artwork shows a sleeker, more streamlined design. Make of that what you will folks!

Jagex have revealed the next two characters for their Transformers Universe MOTA game. The first of the two new additions is Showdown, an Autobot brawler who fought in the pits of Kaon and comes armed with a hammer and a minigun. On the Decepticon side, Mismatch has been unveiled. Mismatch is a Decepticon hotrod who is into grave robbing - and comes armed with a rotary saw for carving up victims of the latest Decepticon assault for parts.

We have with us a couple of Transformers: Age Of Extinction Toy Commercials from Hasbro. Throughout the last couple of days, we've been receiving a lot of info from Hasbro. It's clear that we will see more commercials as the movie release date approaches. Also, the toyline Street Date is only a week away. Hasbro has taken new initiatives to design the toys this time and focuses more on simpler transformations; a trend which started with late Beast Hunters toylines.
The first one is for the One-Step Changers. The commercial emphasizes on the fact that the kids no longer need lengthy Instruction Sheets to transform their favorite figures. The second commercial is for the Age Of Extinction Construct Bots. It shows the new gimmicks seen on the figures and the mix-and-match capabilities. |

Botcon has updated their website with the design for the Botcon 2014 T-Shirt. The artwork for the shirt features Scorponok from the Botcon 2014 boxed set striking an awesome pose, illustrated against the backdrop of the Star Seeker / pirate faction symbol. It's a great follow on to the artwork for the boxed set which we saw earlier today.
Speaking of the boxed set, an image showing all five of the figures in the set posed together is now online. The five figures - Ferak, Cannonball, Ginrai, Devcon and Scorponok - are available with the purchase of a Primus or Golden Ticket Primus Package, and will also be available with the purchase of a non-attending Iacon package, when it goes online next week. Botcon 2014 will be held over the weekend of 19-22 June in Pasadena California, with special guests including Susan Blu (Generation 1 Arcee and voice director of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Transformers Animated and the first 11 episodes of Transformers Prime), James Roberts (writer of the More than Meets the Eye comic series), Marty Isenberg (writer and story editor of Transformers Animated and co-writer / co-editor of Beast Machines), Derrick J. Wyatt (art director and lead character designer of Transformers Animated), David Kaye (voice of Beast Wars Megatron, Unicron Trilogy Megatron and Animated Optimus Prime), Hal Rayle (Generation 1 Snarl), Michael McConnohie (Generation 1 Tracks and Cosmos), Jack Angel (Generation 1 Ultra Magnus), Samantha Newark (Generation 1 Ariel), and the creative team and voice cast of Transformers Rescue Bots!
