2005 Boards member kylash327 has sent us some pics of an awesome Walmart store display piece. Perching above the Transformers: Age of Extinction toy shelves, looming like a vast, predatory bird (with two heads) is this Strafe display piece. It looks imposing and makes a nice break from the Optimus, Grimlock and Bumblebee centric advertising seen so far. Be sure to check out the pics, and once again a big thanks to kylash327 for sending this out way.

Via Geek Culture, we can share some photos from the TRU Singapore midnight opening event to commemorate the official launch of the Transformers: Age of Extinction toyline. Similar events are also being held by Toys R Us stores in Taiwan and Malaysia.
Geek Culture has some pictures of some of the special items available at the event including some nice "Then and Now" Optimus Prime metal figures (for the purchase of a Platinum edition Optimus Prime / Grimlock set) and two of the four silver chrome versions of the Age of Extinction Deluxes. Bumblebee and Slug shown in hand here, and we have heard that the other two who are on offer are the other two Wave 1 Deluxes, Scorn and Crosshairs. Be sure to check out all of the pictures, and a big thanks once again to Geek Culture for sharing these pics with us. |

Zap2it has updated with the titles of the next two episodes of Transformers Rescue Bots. The new episodes look set to carry on showing through June, with Bots and Robbers on 14 June 2014 and Rescue Dog on 21 June 2014. Of possible interest is that Bots and Robbers was also the name of the police themed playset from the toyline - a coincidence born out of the appealing nature of the pun, or something more?

Good tidings for fans in Singapore - sighted at the TRU midnight opening were the Age of Extinction Generations Deluxe class Wave 2 (that's Stafe, Drift, and Slash for those keeping track). This bodes extremely well for those hoping to find these at US retail tomorrow when the brick and mortar street date arrives. Watch this space folks!

A toy catalog given out at the midnight launch of the Transformers: Age of Extinction toyline has given us our first look at the Generations Deluxe Lockdown toy. The toy features the non-faceplated version of Lockdown's head - no bizarre green dome here! - and his main weapon is the face-gun from the trailer. No clue if said weapon can attach to the head or shoulders to recreate the scene from the movie.
Big thanks to Daimchoc of our 2005 Boards and SiuGui Mok on Facebook for sharing this look at the bounty-hunter villain of Age of Extinction with us! |

Toys R Us Japan like Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and others held a special launch event for the new Transformers: Age of Extinction toyline (called Transformers: Lost Age in Japan). The launch event featured an autograph session with the Takara-Tomy design team, some very cool display pieces and an autograph board for fans to sign and leave their 30th birthday wishes for Transformers, which became covered with sketches of fan-favorite characters such as Optimus Prime, Rodimus, Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Dai Atlas and Rung.
Check out these pictures of the event, with a big thanks to 2005 Boards member Masabon for sharing them with us. |

2005 Boards Member tigermask44 has found a Transformers: Age Of Extinction Generations Leader Class Optimus Prime with a red paint variance.
The original has a bright red paint application while the one he bought at Target has a much more darker red instead. The color difference is seen more clearly on the Vector Shield (the shield has a different name on the Generations version). |

Action figure blog Come, See, Toys has updated with some in-hand images and thoughts on the new Marvel Infinite Series Death's Head figure. The freelance peacekeeping agent finally has a 3.75 inch action figure all of his own through this line.
Now you might be asking, why is a Transformers website talking about a Marvel action figure? Isn't that something you'd visit Toyark for? Well, Death's Head has a rich history with Transformers through a series of stories written in the 1980s by Simon Furman, starting with "Wanted: Galvatron - Dead or Alive!" In this story, Autobot leader Rodimus Prime placed a bounty on the head of the insane Decepticon leader - and Death's Head stepped up to hunt the Decepticon and claim the prize! He would go on to feature in numerous other stories, before joining the "main" Marvel universe, but not before he crossed paths with Doctor Who. For a long time, fans have wanted to add a Death's Head to their Transformers collection - well the good news is now you can, and by all appearances, Death's Head seems to scale well with Deluxes, so he'll look good chilling with your Universe Cyclonus and Generations Scourge. Be sure to check out more pics and thoughts on this one over at the Come, See Toys blog. And for all your other action figure toy news needs, head on over to the Toyark! |

2005 Boards member payres and Adam Pawlus of 16bit.com report that the latest wave of Dollar Store "Classics" Legion class Transformers releases have a variant on the Bumblebee in the assortment. The Bumblebee has previously been sighted with a big red Autobot sigil on his chest - this variant features a black sigil on the chest. If you're a completionist for Bumblebee, you may want to hunt down this variant figure.
It is worth noting that the stock photos for these are misleading. The stock photos show a Bumblebee with no Autobot symbol on his chest, and show Optimus Prime and Starscream from the same assortment with the bonus weapons of the previous wave of dollar store Legions. To date, no Optimus Prime or Starscream in this version of the packaging have been sighted with the weapons, and no "symbol-less" Bumblebee either. Equally, while the packaging advertises "heat the rubsign to reveal the shield", none of the three released actually feature rubsigns. |

Thanks to TFW2005 boards members SoundBlaster7 and daimchoc we have several in-hand images of the Takara Age Of Extinction figures. Many fans have already gotten their hands on Hasbro releases (today marks the official launch day) so hopefully these images will help your decision on picking up either Hasbro's releases or ordering Takara's versions (or maybe you'll just buy both version!).
Including in the galleries by Alfes2010 are AD-01 Optimus Prime, AD-02 Evasion Optimus Prime, AD-03 Grimlock, and AD-06 Crosshairs. We also received images from boards member daimchoc which include figures such as AD-09 Protoform Optimus Prime, AD-11 Dispensor, and AD-14 Jolt among a few others. Check out all the images after the jump! |

Just when you thought Takara-Tomy had exhausted the list of "unusual things a Transformer can turn into" (which includes shoes, working computer mice and ice lollies) we learn of this latest Optimus Prime coming out in Japan - who transforms from a fully articulated robot into a working pen.
Yes indeed Transformers fans. The bar on "weird yet cool things Optimus can turn into" has been deftly raised. Big thanks to uranusdd of our 2005 boards for the news tip and attached scan showing the prototype. Autobots, transform... and write up! |

And our member is also providing us with images from the Transformers Malaysia Facebook Page and the Toys "R" Us Malaysia Facebook Page where we see them having a good time at the launch. Toys R Us Japan have updated their website with official images of the Japanese market Transformers Movie Advance series releases for June, Dino and Soundblaster. Dino was an Autobot who featured in Transformers Dark of the Moon, but never had a toy release back then - this release finally lets fans add Dino to their Autobot lineup. He's a remolded Revenge of the Fallen Sideways. Alongside Dino is Soundblaster or "Darkside Soundwave" as he is officially known. He's a redeco of the Dark of the Moon Soundwave who was intended to be released as a part of the post Dark of the Moon movie all-stars line which never saw a release.
Both are arriving next month, in June - until then, check out these updated official images of the pair. |

Renderform have unveiled one of their next projects, which is a collaboration with online store Toy Dojo. This set, P.A.X. is a new head for Toyworld's Orion (aka unofficial IDW Optimus Prime) which looks much closer to the source material. It's a 200 piece limited edition run - and for long time 2005 Boards members, you may be interested to know that the initial sculpt was done by long-time boards member Weewoo - who you might remember for her awesome and professional level CGI fanart of Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime.
