Takara-Tomy have updated their website with the announcement of a new line of Transformers toys. The line is named "Transformers Legends" but should not be confused with the Legends size class or the mobile game from Mobage. This line, Transformers Legends, is billed as "various characters who have appeared in the 30 year history of the Transformers, getting new releases with a modern interpretation and modern technology" (our paraphrasing of online translations)
The first two releases in the line have been revealed as Rattrap and Optimus Primal, from Beast Wars - and you might notice that for this line Takara-Tomy has reverted to the original Japanese names, so these two are being called Rattle and Convoy, respectively. Rattrap / Rattle is the new Generations Deluxe class toy, while Convoy is the original Beast Wars Ultra class toy, using the remolding from the 10th anniversary Golden Disk reissue set. Given the billing of the series - that it is a celebration of characters from throughout the 30 years of Transformers - it seems likely that this line will also see some characters from other lines as well. We'd guess that the likes of the Generations Leader Jetfire and Deluxe Tankor will ultimately find a home in this line too. As always, watch this space for more news. Rattle and Convoy, the first releases in the line, are due to arrive in October 2014. |

Siliconera has posted a preview article for the Wayforward developed Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark strategy RPG for the Nintendo 3DS. The game looks set to play out in a similar fashion to the Fire Emblem or Advance Wars series, with you able to move units on a 2D grid, while the skirmishes between units play out in 3D cutscenes.
What is revealed here are some of the mechanics that underpin the gameplay of the title. Each character will have seven different attacks of varying strength, each one needing an escalating number of points to use. A point is earned by a character each turn, with bonus points awarded for blocking enemy attacks. Part of the strategy sounds set to revolve around picking whether to employ low-level attacks to harass enemies, or to take a few rounds to stock some points to bring out a more powerful attack. Each character is also going to have a character-specific super move, which is activated by using a specific amount of Energon, which is limited for each mission, so you need to think carefully about which moves you use. One of the example super moves given is Optimus Prime's Vanguard ability, which makes enemies focus on Optimus to give other allies time to withdraw or regroup. Check out the full article on Siliconera here. |

Our sponsors TFSource have sent us some updated information on the Warbotron unofficial Computron project, in the form of a first look at the unofficial Afterburner in the group. WB-03A is going to be the first unofficial Technobot to see a release, a very Generation 1 styled take on the Tron lightcycle design that defined Afterburner.
Check out the images attached to this post, and check out TFSource's preorder page for this figure - according to TFSource, he's due in July 2014. |

Next up in our new Transformers toy galleries, we've got a look at Generations Deluxe Tankor to share with you. "Fat Tankor" as he is known (though not to his face) is a part of the upcoming Generations 2014 Deluxe Wave 3 along with Rattrap, an assortment which celebrates the Beast era of Transformers.
Tankor is a homage to the Beast Machines Vehicon general Tankor, whose initial Mega class toy in 1999 was extremely cool but very inaccurate to the show model. This version of Tankor is much closer to how Tankor looked on the show, with the possible exception of his short legs. Tankor's transformation is very simple, yet works extremely well and has no excess vehicle parts hanging off the robot mode, which is a rarity among Transformers toys. Tankor is also very nicely poseable. His transformation rules out waist rotation, but almost everything else you could ask from a Deluxe class toy is there and is unimpeded giving a great range of motion. The articulated claw hands are a nice touch and let Tankor get a grasp on extra weapons, other Transformers... it's a really cool touch. The tank cannon is attached with a c-clip, but does not have to come off to transform. The only thing that would have been nice with it would have been if it could have rotated to aim at targets around the tank mode, rather than being fixed straight forwards. Overall, Generations Tankor is a very cool representation of the Beast Machines character. He's a toy who is squat but powerful looking, and a lot of fun to play about with, pose and transform. He's not yet arrived at US retail, but while you wait, please check out our gallery to see what you think of this release: Generations Vehicon Tankor Gallery |

3rd Party group Warbotron is on a roll. Following the announcement of their third combiner, a not-Computron and the first full reveal of their not-Afterburner from the project, we now have our first look at the central figure. Shown on their Facebook page, this version of the Technobot Scattershot is shown here as a grey prototype. No jet mode images thus far, but he does come with a pair of axes.

United States Patent & Trademark Office is revealing another possible new Trademark for the Transformers Franchise. We say this since it is also categorized under the same description as any other Hasbro Transformers Trademark would go.
However, the main description is as follows: "Interactive entertainment software, namely, computer game software, computer game programs, computer game cartridges, computer game discs; interactive multimedia computer game programs; downloadable game software for use in connection with computers, communication devices and mobile telephones; pre-recorded laser and video disc featuring an animated cartoon series" Titled as "Flexium", you can retrieve the documents by clicking here. What do you think this new Trademark is? Speculate at the thread associated with this news post. |

This Gift Card is the same gift card as the one given out during the 1st Transformers Movie but with a different paint scheme to represent the new look of the 4th movie. In our own familiar words… a Repaint. Check out the images, after the jump. |

No Transformers Live Action Movie is complete without a Coloring & Activity Book. This time ChirpyBird has published the Transformers: Age Of Extinction Coloring & Activity Book under the License of Hasbro.
2005 Boards Member pie125 has found 2 books and both of them are filled with cool stuff to keep your little kid(s) entertained. The book even has some Bios of various characters in the movie but we already know the details. What's interesting is that the name "Bulkhead" is among a list of words on a Word Search game. We've mirrored the images. Check'em out, after the jump. |

Facebook page The Ragin Nation has posted a new Render of Transformers: Age Of Extinction Bumblebee.
Very much like his new 2014 Concept Camaro Vehicle Mode, this new Bee is sleeker than his previous versions. Based on the image, it's clear that the new Bumblebee Battle Mask is unmistakable inspired by the head of an actual Bumblebee. |

The spot as a more somber mood than previous ones, with Mark Wahlberg delivering some powerful narration ending with the line "it's judgement day" from which the spot has gained its nickname.
