CBMTrailers is at it again. This time it's the official B-Roll footage of Transformers 4 Age of Extinction, which is an incredibly close behind the scenes footage, just focused on actors and production alone, without any commentary.
Check out director Michael Bay and great set of actors including Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Li Bingbing do their thing on a regular day on set. |

A fun little interview was done with actor Stanley Tucci, who is playing Joshua Joyce in the soon to be released Age of Extinction blockbuster. Nothing ground breaking in the video below (no spoilers), but we do hear a little more about Tucci's character as well as his experience on set. Check it out.

A couple of photos have been circulating the internet that may have revealed a pair of this year's BotCon at-show exclusives. The images reveal what looks to be an Alpha Trion and Shokaract figure, both of which we've seen rumored prior. It looks like the rumored list is proving true so far, we'll know for sure soon enough!

We have been at today's customizing class at Botcon 2014 and we have a new Transformer to show for it! This year's exclusive was Primal Prime, a very sharp reworking of the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal. He's got some nice clear red plastic going on and we think the finished product is particularly awesome! Check out a few quick pics from our hotel room attached to this post and read on for our more in-depth thoughts.
Be sure to keep it TFW for more toy news throughout the weekend, including coverage of the main panels, pictures of the Hasbro display cases and more! If you're at Botcon, why not also join us at Charlies' Bar after hours on 20 June? |

As early BotCon goers begin to pick up their Primus packages we've received word from social media outlets that the freebie figure is Flamewar, which we've seen rumored previously.
We're also starting to hear word of more at-show exclusives, which apparently will include the Fall of Cybertron Fireflight mold as Energon Sixshot. If you also look at the comic cover in the attached image we can see what appears to be Apelinq (top left) and Flareup (bottom left). Keep it locked here on TFW as more news and confirmations trickle in. |

This year's Botcon is underway and those lucky few among us who get to pick up our packages early now have the convention boxed set and comic in-hand. As with previous years Fun Publications have listed the exclusives and the numbers available in the back of the comic, but this year, they did not name the figures in each set. That said, by reading the comic the names become clear - and a photo shared with us by Deltagod confirms the last set. The sets are as follows:
Knight 3-Pack (limited to 1,750 sets) - Alpha Trizer (Prime Thundertron redeco), Apelinq (Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal) and Flareup (Prime Mainline Arcee) Pirate 2-Pack (limited to 1,550 sets) - Hunter (not Shokaract per se, but the original form of Shokaract from Reaching the Omega Point's backstory. He uses the Rampage retool of Prime First Edition Megatron). The other figure in the set is Brimstone, not Sixshot as previously reported. He's a redeco of Fall of Cybertron Fireflight. Clone 2-Pack (limited to 2,000 sets) - Pounce and Wingspan, from the Prime Vehicon and Jet Vehicon toys. Kre-O Botcon Anniversary 6-Pack (limited to 1,500 sets) |

As Botcon 2014 gets underway, we are remembering convention exclusive toy sets from years past. Today are the 2009 & 2010 sets, Wings of Honor and Generation 2 Redux. In 2009 core figures included new versions of Kup, Scourge, and the Sweeps! In 2010 all had the theme of Generation 2 colors. Well, almost all of them, since there was a pretty awesome RID character in there too, none other than Sky Byte!
And since things are already jumping off in Pasadena, you might even be able to find some early sellers for this years Botcon 2014 sets! ![]() Wings of Honor Thunderclash Flak Landshark Scourge Kup Leozack Razorclaw Elita-1 Banzai-Tron Skyquake Sweep Two, Six, Seven ![]() Generation 2 Redux Spark Clench Breakdown Streetstar Sky Byte Decepticon Slice Turbomaster Double Punch Rapido Cindersaur Sharkticon 3 Pack G2 Sideswipe Check back all week for more Botcon figures on eBay! *Note: These links go to search results, and there may not be any listings for that particular toy at the time of clicking. |

A few short clips have been posted with interviews by Takara Masterpiece designers Hironori Kobayashi, and the man from whom he is taking the Masterpiece line over from, Shogo Hasui. Thanks to TFW2005 boards member zy80, we also have a few tidbits from the videos to share with you, mostly having to do with what the designers' favorite Transformers are, what they've designed, and their thoughts on the future of the Masterpiece line.
Mr. Kobayashi says... • His first experience with Transformers was around the age of 10. • He favors the G1 Season 1 Autobots, and likes Sharkticon in particular. • When asked which were his favorites amongst the toys he designed, he responded with his favorite Masterpiece being Grimlock, Revenge of the Fallen Devastator, and Age of Extinction Evasion Mode Optimus Prime (a surprise, as we hadn't known this before. Many consider Evasion Mode Optimus Prime to be one of the best Age of Extinction figures). • He will work hard to design future Masterpieces to give everyone a positive surprise, and asks everyone to please support Transformers and the Masterpiece series! And Mr. Hasui says... • His first experience with Transformers was also at 10 years old, when everyone gathered all their Transformers at a friend's home. He could never forget the feeling of seeing all the toys lined up together. Hence that is why he will emphasize on scale when toys are placed beside one another • He favors the G1 Decepticons, especially Bruticus. Combiners and military vehicles were appealing to him. With all those weapons on him, Bruticus is the symbol for Decepticons • At the end of interview, he mentions that the recent Masterpieces have emphasized on scale. In the future, there will be more exciting developments in the Masterpiece series Check it out and discuss after the jump! |

Nintendo news website Nintendo Everything is reporting that Activision PR has informed them that the Wii U (and 3DS) versions of Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will unfortunately be lacking Escalation mode, the popular co-op survival mode - the only multiplayer component of the game. This is despite the Wii U version of the game being sold for the same price as the Xbox 350, PS3, and PC versions ($49.99).
You can discuss this unfortunate revelation after the jump. |

In an expert move by Hasbro they have finally shown their cards from their SDCC hand and have revealed that they had another exclusive set just waiting to trump those who may have been left wanting something else after the previous set reveal.
The second set is a Dinobot playset obviously meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the brand taking the Age of Extinction Dinobot molds and adding a classic G1 inspired paint job to them. Voyager Grimlock is joined by Deluxe scale Snarl, Slug, and Strafe all sporting their paint schemes reminscent of their G1 counterparts. If that wasn't enough to scratch that retro G1 itch, it all comes packed into a playset style box which resembles the famous Autobot Ark crashed into the side of Mount St. Hilary which any G1 fan is sure to recognize. This set be be available at San Diego Comic Con (Booth #3329) and will cost you $159.99. As always Hasbro says they will have a limited stock available on HasbroToyShop.com as well. Check out the full release on IGN by clicking here. |
