Box Office Mojo is reporting that Transformers Age of Extinction brought in 8.75 Million dollars for early Thursday showings in the US. That is a bit lower than previous films early release numbers. Amazon has just listed a pre-order for Transformers Age of Extinction on Blu Ray. Talk about capitalizing on the hype! They also have an Amazon exclusive version that will come with a statue of Optimus Prime riding Grimlock as seen in the movie, standing 7.25 inches tall (and doesn't look half bad). Check out the full details and pre-order yours now over at Amazon.

Thanks to site sponsor TFsource for passing along this bit of rumored news regarding the MP-08X Masterpiece Grimlock. We'll need to mark this in the rumor file for now, but Takara is rumored to be selling a throne accessory separately to go along with your Grimlock figure. The throne is rumored to be quite large since it needs to accommodate a Grimlock Masterpiece figure, so you can imagine the impressive presence it will command on your display shelves.

You can preorder both the MP-08X Grimlock and this "mystery accessory" from TFsource and BigBadToyStore.

Composer Steve Jablonsky has updated his Official Fan Page with info regarding the release of Transformers: Age Of Extinction Score.

On June 26th, the composer wrote:
"Score album is mixed and ready for mastering! Working hard to get this out as soon as possible. More updates soon. Enjoy the movie this weekend. It's big."

Moments ago Mr. Jablonsky mentioned the following:
"The amazing Patricia Sullivan is mastering the score album today. Dinobots roll out!"

When the fans asked for a specific release date, he had this to say:
"We don't have an official release date yet. That is in the hands of the studio and record label. Releasing a score album is more complicated than you might think"

The composer also talked to HitFix about the music he did for the 4th Michael Bay Transformers movie.
"Michael said to me, 'This is new, let’s approach it as something new.' I put aside all my old themes and just started on brand new ideas. We have all these new characters: Mark Wahlberg, his daughter. There’s a new villain, Lockdown. I focused a lot of time writing a theme for him. He was one of my favorites."

We are getting reports that those who preordered the Hasbro version of Masterpiece Prowl with the UK branch of Toys R Us are receiving cancellation notices for their preorders. According to the cancellation note, Toys R Us have been informed by Hasbro that Masterpiece Prowl will no longer be available in Europe.

This is a blow to European Masterpiece collectors - though some may take some limited solace in the knowledge that it is potentially cheaper to import a Takara-Tomy Masterpiece Prowl than it is to buy one domestically.

The future of other Masterpiece releases for Europe, such as Grimlock and Sunstorm, is now in doubt, with all signs pointing to no European release for either of these toys.

Here is one of the true rarities among Transformers collectors for you, up on Ebay right now. There is an auction running for the unreleased Generation 2 versions of the Stunticons.

Less than a dozen sets of these are known to exist - it's a true rarity which virtually never comes onto the market. Check out these images of the full set of the five Stunticons including some super-rare shots of Motormaster with stickers and launchers which to our knowledge we've not seen on previous G2 Motormasters that have been traded on Ebay.

Funko have announced on their Facebook page that they are going to be producing a pair of limited edition "Hikari" (meaning "light") vinyls. The Optimus Prime and Bumblebee vinyl figures aren't quite the same standard as the Funko Pop Vinyls, but are instead made in translucent plastics and feature glitter to create an effect when light shines through them (hence the whole Hikari thing).

Funko are also giving away the #1 version of each vinyl through their Facebook page, open the above link for full details.

They also feature light up LED eyes. There's five styles out now - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Grimlock on the Autobot side and Starscreram and Soundwave on the Decepticon side. Titan UK's Transformers Magazine has rebranded again for Transformers: Age of Extinction, and with this latest rebranding, they are giving away little PVC Transformers figures on the cover of each issue. Bizarrely these PVCs are drawn from Transformers Prime rather than the movie series...

The list of figure giveaways is as follows:

Issue 1: Oprimus Prime and Breakdown - out now
Issue 2: Bumblebee and Arcee - 24th July
Issue 3: Megatron and Vehicon - 21st August
Issue 4: Ratchet and Starscream - 9th October
Issue 5: Bulkhead - 20th November

The magazine also comes with the standard assortment of puzzles, trivia, and all-new comic strips, with issue #1 featuring a story set between Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction delving into the backstory of Drift. As always these are likely to be non-canonical stories, but right now this is the only fiction being produced alongside Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Korean Super Mario Kart style kart racing game, Kart Racer, has recently had an update to celebrate the launch of Transformers: Age of Extinction. The game, produced by Nexon, has added Optimus Prime and Galvatron as playable characters in game, along with a series of accessories to allow you to customize your kart.

You can check out the official Korean language website for the game. Credit goes to Silicon Era for the English-language report that brought this to our attention.
