Despite negative reviews from the critics, Transformers: Age Of Extinction has passed $100 Million Domestically while earning a total of $301.3 Million Globally.
The Hollywood Reporter states: "Michael Bay's 3D tentpole becomes the first film of 2014 so far to conquer the $100 million threshold in North America; overseas, it opens to $90 million in China, the biggest debut of all time. The 3D film scored the top debut of the year internationally, even though it won't roll out in most of Europe and Latin America until after the World Cup. In addition to China, the tentpole generated big returns in Russia, where it took in $21.7 million, the second biggest launch of all time, with 3D grosses representing 80 percent. And it did nearly as much in South Korea, nabbing the top opening of the year with $21.5 million." You can read more at THR. |

Thanks to Daim Choc of the 2005 Boards for pointing out Facebook user Oscar Fung's in hand shots of the Toys R Us Evolution of Bumblebee 2 Pack. This is our first chance to grab deluxe TF4 Bumblebee in his modern/concept Camaro form. Since they are dropping in HK, should only be a matter of time before they hit the States. Check em out after the break!

Concept artist Wesley Burt has shared a large collection of concept arts for Transformers: Age of Extinction on his Facebook page. The concepts should all be fairly recognizable for what they are meant to be, but there are some interesting takes in here including Strafe with two heads in his robot mode, alternate head designs for Hound, Drift and Lockdown, plus alternate robot mode designs for Crosshairs. There's also some gorgeous sketches of the various major set pieces of the movie included within. Check them all out!

In a recent interview with Huffington post writer of Transformers: Age of Extinction, Ehren Kruger, talked about the creative process that goes into making a Transformers movie.
Over the course of the interview Kruger - who also wrote Transformers: Dark of the Moon and co-wrote Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - explains some of the decisions that were made in the creation of Age of Extinction, such as the decision to use an older human lead with Mark Wahlberg. The key factor that a lot of online news outlets have homed in on, though, is the one thread that director Michael Bay has repeatedly said "no" to when it has been pitched by Ehren Kruger, which is the use of the planet-sized and planet-eating baddie Unicron. Unicron, while he's been talked about, has been put back into the toybox because he's just too big to do until they can find the right story - or a way to make him make sense. Given how other live-action projects have struggled with giant-sized planet-eaters - we're looking at you, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - this might not be a bad call. Click here to check out the full interview on Huffington Post, which gives a great insight into the creative process behind the Transformers movies and also a good view into the role Michael Bay plays in the whole thing. |

Hat tip to TFW2005 boards member Krommdor for letting us know the Kre-O Micro-Changer Menasor and Computron sets have been purchased at retail. These two have somewhat flown under the radar for Kre-O collectors as they've been purchased at some online stores, but this appears to be the first retail sighting, which was at a Marshall's store in New Jersey. Good news for Kre-O fans, happy hunting!

Here is quite possibly the wildest Transformers: Age of Extinction promotion yet. Word reaches us via 2005 Boards member prime roller that if you buy or sell your house through a particular realtor in Taiwan until August 31st, you can get a set of Transformers themed goodies including a laptop, computer speakers and a cooler that transforms into a table.
Yes, for real, we're not making this up! |

The Transformers Legends Blog has announced that this week's Transformers Legends game episode will be a rerun of the Me Grimlock, King event from two weeks ago. The reason given is that there was a bug affecting the event previously preventing players from earning the top rewards for the event.

Earlier today, Transformers movie score composer Steve Jablonsky updated his Facebook page with the following message regarding the Age of Extinction Score:
Wow, it looks like a lot of you went to see Transformers this weekend Thank you so much for all the love and support. I really appreciate all of the messages. We have prepared a little score teaser, kind of an appetizer while we finalize the album. Keep an eye on iTunes this week, it should be appearing very soon, or as soon as iTunes decides to go live with it. Shortly thereafter, Itunes went live with four tracks from the upcoming album. Check out "Hunted", "Lockdown", "Autobots Reunited" and "Tessa" and sound off on the 2005 boards! |

After a long 1.5 days of Botcon 2014, Vangelus finally records a podcast. On the sidewalk. 02 - A Hasbro Chat with Mark Weber - June 21 2014 A few hours after the Saturday Hasbro Panel at Botcon, Vangelus sat down with Mark Weber (Transformers Manager of Global Brand Development) to talk some Transformers, and reveal further insight into the legend of Clint Chapman's hat. 03 - Saturday - June 21 2014 A classically loud and occasionally explicit series of Botcon bar recordings ends with a lot of tired people standing in a circle and talking about the nature of unofficial independent transforming toy robots for about 45 minutes or so. 04 - Let's Artist Alley This interview compilation features 5 Artist Alley tables, from Rachel Cook, to Josh Burcham, swinging by Sarah Stone & Mairghread Scott's Fort Windblade, dropping in on Marcelo Matere, and finishing the tour by chatting Puggleformers with Cally Kari Shokka. 05 - Vinyl Action with The Loyal Subjects On the final day of Botcon 2014, Vangelus spoke with Jonathan Cathey of The Loyal Subjects about action vinyl, line evolution, and Phil Reed. 06 - D-Pads Unstuck with Jagex and DeNA The final interview compilation for Botcon 2014 features a pair of Transformers game conversations, one in the MOTA space, one in the mobile space. 07 - Sunday and Beyond In the late Sunday hours of June 22 2014, Vangelus grabs at whoever's standing near him to talk a little Botcon post-show. Then, he grabs at family. And finally, he grabs at the internet. Video versions of all the interviews are also available by clicking here! For those who want to see an interviewee's face while they're speaking! |

Soundworks Collection has posted a very insightful eight-minute long featurette talking about the process of creating the sounds and the sound editing process of Transformers: Age of Extinction. In this video we hear how the team went to great lengths to make sure that while Age of Extinction retained the signature audio style of the Transformers movies it was also kept fresh - check out the video embedded below:

"The score EP has gone live! This is just a teaser, it was the best way to get something out there quickly. These four tracks are exclusive to the EP, they are theme pieces I wrote early on. The score album will have different material (including variations on these themes), and will have more than four tracks. No official release date yet. If you check it out I hope you enjoy!" |

Hot off the heels of the rarely seen unreleased G2 Stunticon set that dropped last week, eBay member z75sales has some more unreleased G2 figures up for grabs. This time, we see a charity auction for G2 Autojetter and Autolauncher. These molds eventually made their way out in future lines, but were never released as they are here.
On top of these, there are also individual auctions for an unreleased G2 Jazz Laser Cycle on-card, and a G2 Breakdown from the Stunticon set, but by itself and on-card. Check out multiple images for each of those auctions by hitting the links above! If you're bidding on these uber-rare items, good luck! |
