The sheer awesome madness of TFcon Toronto 2014 has begun! Early reports are coming in by the dozens from several TFW2005 members on Twitter. Most interesting to report at these early morning hours come from third party group FansProject who have two exclusvies for sale at the show: a Generation 2 homage to Breakdown named Kar Krash and a Diaclone inspired offering for LER-01 Columpio and Drepan (Dinobot "Sludge"). Photos come courtesy of crasis and Peaugh on Twitter.

We have very little information about these figures right now so keep checking back as we update you throughout the day!

- FansProject "Quickswitch"
- FansProject Lost Exo Realm "Sludge" and "Slag"
- Maketoys Pandinus ("Scorponok")

Hat tip goes out to Peaugh, FirebirdGT, Mumps, Crasis, and dogcades for sharing these images via Twitter of the awesome new reveals! Keep checking back at TFW for more updates!

Thanks to Fansformers on Facebook, we now have a first look at the recently revealed upcoming products in Fansprojects' Function X line. Shown here are X-6, X-7 and X-8. Which are respectively unofficial versions of Headmasters Hardhead, Apeface and Highbrow. We get our first look at these figures in robot mode, vehicle mode and beast mode (For Apeface). In the cases of Hardhead and Apeface, we get a good look at how the figures will transform. Intricate and clever Transformations is what the Function X line has become popular for and these figures look like they will not disappoint!

Each of these items has their own thread in our 3rd Party discussion forum. So after you click the title bar and bask in the new images, check the threads below to inject your opinion.

Oshkosh Defense recently held a "Meet Hound" event for its employees. On show at the event was the upcoming Platinum Series Autobots United five pack, which unites the Generations Voyager Optimus Prime and Hound along with the Deluxe Crosshairs, Drift and Bumblebee, all of whom have premium paintjobs. This is the first time we have seen how the five toys will be packaged within the window box. The five Autobots are displayed in robot mode with their accessories above them. The left and right corners of the box feature artwork of the five. Check out the image with thanks to TFW2005 member Ridngsxrs at left.

We've got a new sighting for you today. The Transformers Age of Extinction Mega One Step Changer Bumblebee - who as advertised transforms with one simple, smooth movement - has been spotted at US retail at a Toys R Us in Lancaster PA. This Bumblebee is one big bot - and accordingly, he retails for $29.99. A big thanks to Soundblaster1 for the heads-up.

Takara-Tomy have updated their Transformers prize campaign website with new images and details of the Transformers Dinobot Micron prize campaign.

The giveaway kicks off on July 19th, with the three Classics Mini-Cons Dinobots - and the dragon Mini-Con Nightscream - being available at various participating stores, in most cases being given away with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys.

Of the four:
  • Ivan, the orange T-Rex and redeco of Classics Terrorsaur, is a Toys R Us Japan exclusive, available with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys.
  • Paulie, the blue pteranadon and redeco of Classics Swoop, is an Aeon exclusive. This one is available with a purchase of either LA-01 Battle Command Optimus Prime, AD-01 Optimus Prime or AD-20 Black Knight Grimlock
  • Thunderlips, the purple triceratops and redeco of Classics Knockdown, is a Joshin Kids Land exclusive, available with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys.
  • Sling, the green and yellow dragon and redeco of Classics Nightscream, is exclusive to a whole bunch of stores and given away with a purchase with a purchase of 3,000 yen or more on Transformers toys. Participating stores giving away Sling include Edieon toy counter, Best Denki, Yamada Denki and Yodobashi Camera.
For those wondering "what's with the Rocky names on those Dinobots", during the production of Transformers: Age of Extinction, the Dinobots were given codenames - Grimlock was Ivan, Strafe was Paulie and Slug was Thunderlips. Evidently someone at Takara-Tomy liked those names enough to put them on their latest prize campaign figures.

As TFcon concludes today, we take a quick moment to round up some of the other third party items that were revealed this week but not shown off at TFcon:

Mecha Form, who are making one of the third party Skyfires, have thrown their hat into the dino robot ring and announced their own plans to make unofficial Dinobots. Kicking off are Gunk, Sneer and Plunge, who are unlicensed takes on Sludge, Snarl and Swoop. They will also be making a version of the character Paddles, a Pleisiosaur Dinobot from the compilation book Transformers Legacy.

Mecha Form Dino Mech Series

Beelzeboss will be releasing a Sword of Judgement keychain. Based on the sword Optimus Prime wields in Transformers: Age of Extinction, it can be taken off the keychain and used as a weapon for any Transformer with a 5mm handgrip.

Beelzeboss Sword of Judgement Keychain

X2 Toys were at TFcon, but have revealed some more on their version of the Impactor character, which they're calling Firing Pin, and an upgrade for Generations Orion Pax:

X2 Toys Firing Pin / Impactor and Orion Pax Upgrade Kit

Before and After have also shown off one more future project at TFcon - a jumbo "Action Master" Devastator, based on the Generation 1 cartoon animation model.

Mastermind Creations' Talon is nearing his release - and there are some in-hand images courtesy of Oscar Fung and Daimchoc.

We have a report from TFW2005 member CybertronStreak that the Age of Extinction Legends two packs are showing up at Singapore retail. These packs feature a Legion or Legends class toy from past movie lines or Transformers Prime's Cyberverse packaged with a larger toy. The packs include pairings such as Revenge of the Fallen Legends Optimus Prime with a redecoed Energon Cruellock as Grimlock and a Revenge of the Fallen Legends Sideways recolor as Stinger with a purple Beast Wars Neo Guiledart as Slug.

Hopefully this sighting in Singapore means these are not fair off a US release. A big thanks once again to CybertronStreak for the heads up.

For our next gallery update, we wish to share with you this gallery of Transformers Generations Roadbuster. The Wrecker made his debut in 1985 with a mold licensed from the Mugen Calibur from a series called Dorvack – now after a few redecos of other toys, he is here with his very own unique mold which pays homage to the original toy.

This new Roadbuster is a toy which is extremely fun to pick up and fiddle about with. He's got a simple transformation and a nice, striking deco, and good poseability (I found the hips a little obstructed sometimes though). For me the main draw were the six different weapons Roadbuster comes with, which can peg into different spots on both modes and each other to make new and bigger weapons. For those who like sticking up their Transformers, Roadbuster also sports a full sticker sheet, complete with a choice of Autobot or Wrecker faction stickers. He is, overall, a great addition to the Generations / Classics stable.

Check out the gallery below and see what you think:

Take this as a rumor for now. TFW2005 member Catz, who has never steered us wrong yet, has shared with us some listings for upcoming Platinum Edition releases in the Age of Extinction toyline. While some of the listings (like Autobots United) we've heard of before there are two new ones:
  • A First Edition Leader Optimus Prime with trailer, who comes with Stinger. Previously revealed in the Toys R Us computers, but this is the first we have heard of the mold choices... and Stinger.
  • A five pack of Dinobots in black and gray decos
Perhaps we shall learn more about these at the San Diego Comic Con?

(Pictured, Takara-Tomy's Black Knight Grimlock. Could the Dinobots five pack have a similar deco?)

Thanks to TFW2005 boards member daimchoc for sharing with us new colored images of third party group KFC's Sencho Barbossa (also known as Captain Shark of the Brave series).

The new images show off what will likely be very close to a final deco and reveals striking details in both modes as well as a very well done, clean paint layout that is sure to please many. In-hand reviews of this figure will be highly anticipated!

Check out the new images after the jump and let us know what you think with the discussion link below.

Previewsworld has posted up the October solicitations for IDW's comic book releases and 2005 board member, Sockie, has been nice enough to summarize them for us. Along with the regular books of More Than Meets The Eye, Robots In Disguise, and the new mini-series Primacy, we'll be getting the trade paper back of the popular Windblade mini-series!

Click the title bar to read the synopsis for each issue. But beware, since these issues are months down the road, spoilers may exist.

It's bad news for Kre-O fans - the second Age of Extinction Kre-O Microchnagers assortment (which is series six or seven overall depending on how you count the preview wave) are reported to not feature serial numbers stamped on the packages to help identify the contents. For those picking these up in stores this is a bit of a blow - the serial numbers were a great shortcut to identifying the figures in the bags to collect a whole set. This news comes to you via the Hobbybase Facebook page.
