In addition to our earlier report on Auto Assembly's third party panel, we also have some new IDW comic details straight from the Transformers: More than Meets the Eye writer himself, James Roberts. TFW2005 member Mort reports on what he said - the upcoming Elegant Chaos story will be part three of the Chaos Theory/Shadowplay arc:
James confirmed at the MTMTE panel that Elegant Chaos will be part three of the Chaos Theory arc. It will feature Optimus and co; the Functionist council will play a central part. Sounded like it's going to be an all out, big 'hype' story. You can discuss this revelation after the jump! |

With the Kre-O brand focusing on AOE sets, it was a surprise to see Hasbro release a G1 Kre-O set at Comic Con 2014. The Hasbro SDCC 2014 Kreon Class of 1984 box set contains a best-of line up of G1 Transformers Kreons that were produced over the last few years, redesigned with new deco's and accessories. With 30 G1 Kreons, this box set is perfect for those who missed out on collecting the early Transformers Kre-O box sets, and allowed everybody to catch up with one purchase.

Over the weekend, TFW2005 board member Grimlockimus spotted a neat oddity at a local target: Lite Force Grimlock. This figure is meant to be a keychain of sorts and when you press down on his head a light up gimmick activates to represent flame breath. An Optimus Prime is also available with a light up shield gimmick. If you're interested in these, check out the trading card section of your retailer to see if they are available.

Amazon Japan has put up preorders for two interesting new Transformers items. The first is a Transformers Theme Song DVD "30th anniversary Music Matrix version". There's not a lot in the way of details on that one, but descriptive text suggests that the DVD collects the opening and closing clips of the various Transformers cartoons released in Japan over the series 30 years.
The second release is the Transformers Song Masterpiece which is a new four disc set collecting the full-length versions of every single Japanese Transformers opening and closing theme. According to the tracklist on Amazon, the series are on the CD in reverse order - in other words, the Transformers Go themes kick off the first CD, and the last track on the last disc is the Generation 1 closing theme, Peace Again. This set does notably include the songs from the Japanese dub of Transformers Prime including "I Believe in All" which to our knowledge previously had no full-length release. The first Transformers Prime Japanese intro song, Feeling by Big Bang, seems to have been excluded from this release, though. Both of these are due to be released on September 17, 2014 to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the first airing of More than Meets the Eye Part 1 - the first ever Transformers cartoon. |

GameApps.HK reports that there is a new Transformers mobile game in development. The game is being developed for the Japanese market by Hero Z in association with Takara-Tomy.
The game, titled Transformers Ultimate All Stars, is promoted by artwork showing a spread of Generation 1 characters in a variety of styles, from Marvel to Dreamwave to IDW and package artwork for Generations and Henkei. The artwork hints that there might be more at play here than "just" Generation 1 in all its incarnations - we spot Terrorsaur from Beast Wars in the crowd. There is not a lot of other information yet. It is reported that that the game is pre-registering players with some kind of in-game premium currency as a hook. Transformers Ultimate All Stars releases this Autumn. |

Facebook user Oscar Fung has posted some pictures of the Toys "R" Us exclusive Optimus Prime Evolutions 2-pack. The 2-pack includes a recolor of the Classics Optimus Prime from 2006 with a 1984 toy color scheme. The Evasion Optimus Prime is also recolored for the 2-pack. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to have the head remold with the faceplate. Hopefully we will be seeing this set in other countries soon.

These pics give us a nice look at the figure - Jhiaxus is a remold/redeco of Generations Starscream, with a new head, new wings, new cockpit, and new weapons. He is also very, very orange. He and the rest of his wave should be out soon, so keep an eye out!

The long-dormant third party group Headrobots return with a new customization set for the Botcon 2014 Scorponok. The ultimate goal of their Green King is to make a full-on Classics Scorponok out of the Energon mold, with this first kit - newly listed on sponsors Big Bad Toy Store - providing new claws and a neck connector port. Other kits will (presumably) follow to add other details shown in the photos attached to this story. But with full ground-up third party efforts from Maketoys and Perfect Effect on the horizon, is a "mere" customization kit enough any more? Share your thoughts after the break.
