Site sponsors Big Bad Toy Store and Robot Kingdom have both posted pre-order listings for a reissue of MP-10 Convoy. This looks to be a Japanese version release of Optimus Prime with the key difference to Hasbro's version being his darker blue tones. He otherwise seems the same as the first Japanese release based on descriptions. Check the sponsor listings below:

Concept artist Tom Stockwell has shared some artwork which he provided for Jagex for their sadly now closed Transformers Universe MOTA game. Tom, who was a senior artist for the project, has shared artwork including designs of Ratchet, Hound, a Transformers Prime inspired Arcee and a Megatron best described as Transformers Prime Megatron with a tank alternate mode. The artwork is awesome, and it is a shame we never got to see these designs fully realised.
Check out the artwork at Tom Stockwell's portfolio, Artstation (some non-TF pieces may be considered unsafe for work) |

Hasbro has stated that Silver Knight Optimus Prime will join the roster of characters for the Transformers: Age Of Extinction Mobile Game by DeNA.

However, certain elements from the update was kept in the final movie; such as the rocket boosters. Official Description: "Enemies make way for The Silver Knight, as he unleashes a devastating laser beam on anything in his path! Add him to your team in the Transformers: Age of Extinction app from DeNA, starting on 1/8.*" Android: Google Play Store, Amazon App Store. iOS: iTunes Store *Update may not be available for all countries straight away. Thanks to the Facebook page of third party group BadCube, we've got our very first images of the recently announced Warrior Wardog project! Warrior Wardog will continue BadCube's "mini-bot" toy line nicknamed the Old Time Series, which so far features the well received Brawny and Backland based on Generation 1 Brawn and Outback. Based on the test shot images we received this morning, Warrior Wardog should fit in nicely with your Masterpiece styled figures and certainly even nicer along side the rest of the Old Timer Series.
No price or release date info is up yet, but speculate away with the discussion link below! |

Hisashi Yuki's twitter page continues to be a terrific and fun source of Transformers news and information from the Takara side of our hobby. In addition to an in-package image of the Legends line Brainstorm, we've been shown a teaser image of Takara's Combiner Wars Superion! Titled as Unite 2015, the blacked out silhouette has already triggered many fans to speculate that the gestalt is comprised of 4 jet limbs, replacing the Alpha Bravo helicopter Hasbro has given us. It's truly hard to see or confirm definitively based on the silhouette, so you'll need to judge for yourself if Takara is in fact replacing the jet limb with a Slingshot figure. Hopefully we know for sure soon enough!
Make the jump and share your thoughts about the Combiner Wars teaser! |

Play With This Too have shared some images of a 3-D printed prototype of one of their Tech Drone figures. On show are images of the Tech Drone D-Throne, who is the companion for their Bloodbath figure. D-Throne like all the Play With This Too Tech Drones is designed to change into an accessory - in this case a backpack - to complement the main figure, as well as break down into a selection of accessories which can be used by any figure with a 5mm peg grip. The drone also features 5mm pegs of its own as well - so you can combine the various weapons as you desire, or indeed add in other accessories such as those from BMOG figures as is on show in some of these images.

2014 held a lot of big moments for Transformers, which we have covered previously in our 2014 in review article (check it out if you have not already)!
2014 was also a year where a lot of news was coming in the background as a new Transformers show began to emerge. It is titled Robots in Disguise (no relation to the original 2001 Robots in Disguise... or the recently retitled comic from IDW). The show is set to focus on Bumblebee leading a small, rag-tag team of misfits to recapture a ship full of escaped Decepticon prisoners which crash-landed on Earth. TFW2005 newsie SilverOptimus is particularly excited by this new show, so we bring you today a look back at how the new show Robots in Disguise has come together in a year of reveals. Read on for the full story! |

The iconic voice of Optimus Prime, the legendary voice actor Peter Cullen attended SacAnime 2015 and answered fan questions.
He stated that Transformers 5 and 6 to might be less darker in tone than the previous movies and will go back to its roots. "There is a sense that Transformers movies are going into a darker area" stated Mr. Cullen. "I think I brought the concern to the movie studio and certainly to the writers. Perhaps…Transformers 5 and 6 movies will go back more to its roots. There was an occasion where one line [in Transformers: Age Of Extinction] which Optimus Prime had, I did not want to say. It was my gut instinct and certainly my commitment to the character… not to say the line. But I was told to say. You can’t fight the big boys. I think you all know what that line was." |

Animation World Network had a chat with Scott Farrar; Visual Effects Supervisor & Second Unit Director for the Transformers Live Action Movies by Director Michael Bay.
Mr. Farrar states: "When I got there [Iceland], we had this whole setup of how the little dinosaur is going to run over and get the fish and run from the waterfall…there’s this whole big play with all these other dinosaurs out next to the stream bed. So we shot all that stuff. I’m looking at all this… and I go by what Michael goes by. Where does the light look good? Wait a minute. Look at this landscape back here, look at the birds hovering, look at the shadows on the cliff side. Let’s shoot that! That’s what I do. I shoot basically what’s cool or what speaks to me at a location. Even in the aerials, I’m looking around and thinking, “Well this is not what I had in mind but oh, this looks pretty good.” That’s what you’ve got to do. Make these decisions all the time. Your mind has to be open to new ideas, not a prior conceived idea that locks you up." Read what else he has to say at AWN. |

Over New Years, James Roberts shared the script for a scene which was deleted from the script of More than Meets the Eye #22. More than Meets the Eye #22 was the issue where we saw Rewind's documentary about life on the Lost Light, and this scene depicts an exchange between Ratchet and Drift that did not make the final cut.
According to James, the scene was never run by John Barber or Hasbro, so it's not canon - though it is very much so to James! The scene has now been brought to life by Josh Burcham, which he has shared in our Transformers Fan Art forum! Be sure to check it out! |

TFW2005 boards member novabeam10 has come to us this evening with new pricing information for some possible upcoming Transformers products. Thanks to his friend working at a Canadian Toys 'R' Us, we've learned from their listings that the "Transformers Generations Devastator" has a list price of $179.99 (Canadian) with the SKU 198274. In addition, a listing was also uncovered for the Insecticons as a Platinum set for $99.99.
With the previous rumors that we've heard, we can probably work out what the are for ourselves. The Devastator is most likely the Combiner Wars Devastator, with the hefty pricetag lending more credence towards it indeed being Titan class. As for the Insecticons, it is almost certainly the reissue set we had seen before. Unfortunately though, we have no news just yet of the additional Conehead set that accompanied that rumor. Discuss this new info on the boards! |

Take this with a heavy dose of skepticism, but Hasbro Studio's website has updated with pages for the various Hasbro Studios shows, including Transformers Rescue Bots and Transformers Robots in Disguise.
For Transformers Rescue Bots, it is mentioned that the show has 78, 22 minute episodes - doing the math, that works out at 3 seasons each with 26 episodes. That would imply that the currently airing third season of the show would be the last, owing to the series reaching the magic number of episodes (65) that allows a show to move into syndication. On the other hand, it is also possible that this page is simply showing the total number of Rescue Bots episodes that have been commissioned. On an aside, it is also mentioned that the new series, Transformers Robots in Disguise, will also run for 78 episodes, or three seasons, with the production of the show being mentioned as covering 2014-16. This might well be the ambition, but we think the show actually making it to this number of episodes will depend on how well the show goes across early on. In both instances, it is a case of wait and see. |

Here is our next Combiner Wars gallery, to round off our coverage of the first wave of the Deluxes! Combiner Wars Firefly is the modern reimagination of Fireflight, a flashy stunt plane who skews very close to the original in all the right ways.
Firefly is a great little figure. The colors are spot on to the original and look as sharp and dynamic now as they did back then. As with Skydive, the poseability is excellent - in fact, the transformation scheme is shared between both Aerialbots with a few minor changes. Firefly's weapon is a flamethrower, and a nicely detailed one at that, with molded details showing the gas tank and the lighter, among other details. Of the first assortment of Combiner Wars deluxes, Firefly is quite possibly the best. He's a sharp looking and fun figure, with a really nice deco which makes him stand out. You might say we've saved the best of this assortment for last! Check out the gallery at the link below and see what you think: Generations Combiner Wars Firefly Gallery |

TFW2005 member Autobot_82 has let us know that the Platinum Edition reissue set of the Generation 1 Insecticons has arrived at US retail at a Kmart in Commerce, CA. The set rereleases the three original Insecticons, Shrapnel, Bombshell and Kickback in a giftbox with some excellent artwork on the front.
The bad news though is that K-Mart is selling these at $79.99 - which is a little more than double what the trio went for the last time they were reissued in 2009. Granted, costs have also risen since then, but probably not to double that baseline. Happy hunting, one and all! |

Transformers Rescue Bots Season 2 episode "Chief Woodrow" is set to air on 18 January, with a rerun on 21 January. This episode, like The Riders of Midwinter, was skipped over in the original airing of the second season of the show, but unlike that episode which was shown alongside season 3, this episode is being inserted into reruns of season 2.
Via Zap2it, we have learned that there will be an episode airing on the 18th and repeating on the 21st - and via LocateTV, we can confirm that the repeat on the 21st (and therefore the original airing from the 18th) will be the skipped episode. According to LocateTV, the episode will feature Chief Burns' oddball brother, Woodrow, taking up the reins while his brother is out of town. The episode is set to air at 7:30am EST on the 18th and 8:30am EST on the 21st. Be sure to tune in for this much-delayed new episode! |

On the back of the packaging we can see two more Titan Heroes figures; Bumblebee and Steeljaw. Update: Listings for Bumblebee and Steeljaw are also spotted on eBay. Previously, we've seen these three figures, but they were unpainted prototypes. By scanning the code of Titan Hero Optimus Prime, you can unlock Titan Hero Optimus Prime on the Transformers: Robots In Disguise Mobile Game. Titan Hero Bumblebee unlocks Titan Hero Bumblebee, while Titan Hero Steeljaw unlocks Titan Hero Steeljaw. |

Thanks to TV Tropes, we also have with us, the updated character name list for the Decepticon villains. Some of the earlier names from the Chinese broadcast have more appropriate names for the English speaking community. You can take a look at the Episode Synopsis, after the jump. |

MP-22 Ultra Magnus dropped late last year and we here at TFW2005 have a full high res gallery of him ready for you today! He is a massive figure, standing tall among his Masterpiece brothers. He doesn't transform like previous versions, instead keeping the cab and trailer connected. In each mode though, he looks like he should, a beefed up hybrid of the G1 toy and cartoon. We'll leave the reviews and feedback to the fans.
This sponsored gallery is coming courtesy of site sponsor TFSource, so we'd like to thank them for providing the figure to shoot! You can grab MP-22 Ultra Magnus from them right now; they are in stock and shipping! For some supah cleah high res images though, check out our full gallery here: TFW2005's MP-22 Ultra Magnus High Resolution Gallery. We've attached some key shots after the break, read on to check em and discuss on the forums! |

Even more evidence mounts for Generations Devastator! The ever-informative TFW2005 boards member D-Drive has stopped by to advise us of some new Transformers product listings and case breakdowns. It's important to note that these are Canadian case amounts and can sometimes differ from the US case quantities. These cases include...
TRANSFORMERS RID DECEPTICON HUNTER STAR WARSWORD BLASTER (4) TRANSFORMERS RID NERF MEGA 1-STEP OPTIMUS PRIME (3) TRANSFORMERS RID SUPER BUMBLEBEE (SFX)(2) TRANSFORMERS RID MINICONS DEPLOYERS (2) TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS DEVASTATOR (2) TRANSFORMERS RID MASKS ASST (6) TRANSFORMERS RID BUMBLEBEE BLASTER (4) TRANSFORMERS RID MINICONS (8) Also of note are what appear to be Robots in Disguise role-play items and gimmick figures, but interestingly, there are also some listings for Mini-Cons, which we had learned about recently via the show itself. Lastly, as D-Drive himself pointed out, Devastator will come in two per case like Generations Metroplex, perhaps lending even more credence towards the speculation that Devastator could indeed be a Titan class figure/set. Unfortunately, we still have no pictures of these items, but keep it tuned to TFW as we bring you news leading up to Toy Fair, where all these things will hopefully be fully unveiled. |

Thanks to the Facebook page of Autobase Aichi, we have some new images from the Japanese hobby show Super Festival 67 that took place last week.
Of interest first are images of the upcoming Transformers Generations Vol.2 2014 fan voted figure Goshooter and the Million Publishing Shouki (Trainbot), EX Gohkin's Unicron head model display, and we also have an image of the Super Deformed Optimus Prime and Rodimus figures (which we saw earlier this year as well). And, if you've ever wanted to be Pretender Starscream, a cardboard cutout was on display to have pictures taken in. Finally there were also some very cool original artwork and scripts from the Transformers: The Headmasters manga to see on display. Some close up shots are included in the attached images. Check out all the images after the jump. |
