News reaches us from TFW2005 members Prime Roller and Yobuster that the Robots in Disguise Kre-O sets have been released in Taiwan and Singapore. Amongst the sightings are the larger sets which feature vehicles and a selection of Kreons, and also the custom Kreon sets for Robots in Disguise. That is pretty much everything that we know of so far for Kre-O for this line on the shelves in Taiwan - so far we just have reports of the boxed building sets in Singapore.
Hopefully this release news means a US sighting of the line should not be too far off - please watch this space for more news. |

TFW2005 member Prime Roller has shared with us some images from a new Taiwanese Transformers catalog. While there is nothing shocking or new in this catalog, there are some nice spreads showing off some of the later Age of Extinction exclusives, Kre-O Battlechangers (with transformation instructions), Thrilling 30 branded Generations, and Angry Birds Transformers including a look at the wave 2 single packs Thundercracker, Megatron and Grimlock. Check out the images attached to this post.

Q1 is the Toy Fair Season. Of course as always UK Toy Fair by British Toy & Hobby Association is opening the countless fairs including Nuremberg, Australian, China and the biggest one of them all… New York. But unlike other Toy Fairs, the UK Toy Fair is closed for the general public and is only open to interested parties such as investors and potential licensees. They are especially careful after the G. I. Joe toy leaks in 2009.
At the UK Toy Fair, Hasbro is the biggest exhibitor on the show floor. This year, the main highlight is Transformers. Grant Gie; the European Franchise Manager of Hasbro spoke to the media recently regarding the Transformers presence at UK Toy Fair 2015. TFW2005 listens to what Mr. Gie has to say: Speaking about the Transformers toys in general he said "It was magical and let children essentially get two toys and two play patterns in one. However, the real magic was in the detail and execution of the product." "The iconography has become globally popular so our key characters such as Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, as well as the Autobot and Decepticon shields are instantly recognizable and translate onto products from all categories." Since licensees are very important to the brand, Mr. Gie stated "What we try to ensure is that our licensed partners strive to activate our brand DNA in all products. 'More Than Meets The Eye' – that can work well and provide consumers with a point of difference when executed on product". He then talked briefly about the past year."The toys over the last 30 years have changed very little… until 2014, when we completely re-designed the line. The Paramount movie showcased our characters in high-speed action sequences converting from robot to vehicle mode at the blink of an eye. Hasbro wanted to bring that same movie magic to our product line." Next he spoke about the upcoming Transformers: Robots In Disguise and the future of the Transformers Franchise. You can read all about it, after then jump. |

A new third party group has thrown their hat into the ring, with the announcement of an upgrade set for some of the new Generations toys. This new group, named "UltimateFansToys" (no relation to Fans Toys), have announced they will be making an add-on set that will give Generations Leader Jetfire new arms with articulated fingers, new arms for Generations Roadbuster with wrist swivels, and a selection of missile pods which can fit into any 5mm socket, such as the ones on the underside of Jetfire and the Combiner Wars Aerialbots' wings.
There's a few images of the resin prototypes of these addons accessories - check them out attached to this story. |

We're carrying on with our galleries of the Combiner Wars toys with a look at the new Generations Bombshell figure! Bombshell here is a Legends class figure in the Combiner Wars line who is an update of the Generation 1 Insecticon.
This new Legends class Bombshell is a great looking little figure. Right off the bat, his size and shape really evoke the look of the original Generation 1 figure, and Hasbro truly nailed the likeness to the original character with this one. He's got an excellent range of articulation, with the only thing that is missing being an articulated head. There's hints that at one point some kind of weapon mode might have been considered, like with Powerglide, given the gun-arms and 5mm peg knees, but nothing is mentioned in the instructions. Overall, Bombshell is great and another strong release in the first assortment of Combiner Wars Legends. He's great either stand alone, or as a companion piece to last year's Skrapnel figure - now all we need is a Kickback to round out the trio! Check out the gallery and see what you think of this Insecticon: Generations Combiner Wars Bombshell Gallery |

The UK Toy Fair is due to kick off next week, but via an image posted on 4chan and reposted to imgur we have a look at a poster that is destined to decorate the Hasbro booth. The poster shows art from both Robots in Disguise and Combiner Wars - but among the familiar art, there are two new pieces shown.
The first one to draw your attention to is on the left of Robots in Disguise Grimlock. This robot, with a white head, is the combined mode of a redeco of Optimus Prime - compare the head design to Ultra Prime in the bottom right corner. It seems as though we are getting a white Voyager Optimus Prime redeco in our future. Could this be a new Ultra Magnus, or someone else given the fact that Ultra Magnus was previously rumored to be getting a Leader class toy? Next, look closer at the artwork of the white-headed Combiner, and you'll see that Combiner Wars Blackjack is getting a redeco or retool as Rodimus - and he'll serve as a chest for the white-headed Combiner (which by extension, might be Magnus after all - Lost Light crew combiner, anyone?) Lastly, take a look in the bottom left. This is some new artwork of the Classics Bumblebee design - suggesting the little bot might be getting a release somewhere - though it also would not be the first time for Hasbro to produce some new to promote a line using a character not getting a new release in the line. A big thanks to TFW2005 member Gearshift for the heads up! |

The news doesn't come as a surprise since we saw Steeljaw in almost every toy category for the new Transformers: Robots In Disguise, whereas his fellow Decepticons didn’t. We also saw him act as leader on various clips which went online recently. Now, Hasbro has announced the confirmation of Steeljaw as the new Decepticon Leader.
Hasbro stated: Decepticons Vs. Decepticons? Kids can scan the new Steeljaw toy into the awesome Transformers: Robots in Disguise app and take on the villains as the Decepticon leader! "Savor the daylight. Things are about to get rather dark." -Steeljaw- |

Third party group Giga Power have updated their Facebook feed with a whole bunch of new images of their unofficial Masterpiece scaled Dinobot Snarl, Guttur.
Guttur is a big guy - much like the character he is based on - as can be evidenced by images of him next to the MP10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Masterpiece Ultra Magnus. There are also plenty of images showcasing the detail and the other features in Giga Power's first release, including an alternate robot mode head and a clear plastic cover for the dinosaur head, mirroring how the orginal Generation 1 Snarl had clear plastic in this location. Guttur is expected to be released in March / April 2015, priced at approximately $199.95. According to the latest Facebook update, the first release will be limited, with 90% of the surface area painted and some bonus flame effect accessories included. In addition to the flame effect accessories, Guttur will also be available in two versions - a metallic colors version, and a chrome version, which will add chrome to the finished product in similar places to where it was found on the original Generation 1 Snarl. |

Via actoys member kidzhao, we have some new Transformers product information that emerged from a recent Hong Kong toy show, including details on Generations Titan Class Devastator, upcoming G1 reissues, and 2015 Masterpiece info. Cybertron.CA member xueyue2 was gracious enough to translate the text for us:
IDW Devastator is indeed Titan class, but because it's facing all the age groups, so single robot's transformation is not much. The demo versino is hand-made unfinished product, eblow can't move. There is a Defensor will be revealed in late of 2015, so far only Hotspot is showed, and just so-so quality. Scout class has Warpath. 日版:会有很多D级人物,都不是主线人物所以没细看,ps擎天柱和md老威不错但站立有些困难 。组合方面增 加电镀和还原单体成员G1配色。 Japanese version: (nothing important, I won't translate. MP: This year will release 5 MP. And the MP25 is the same one as the pre-ordered on Taobao (I remember that Ironhide/Tracker on Taobao? Might be Tracker) It comes with "洛尔" ( a human?) and Blaster. MP21G doesn't have Spike, but just a jetpad, the price will be lowered because of that. Discuss these new revelations and check out an alternate translation after the break! |
