Jim Sorenson has just put out a hefty update for the Transformers: Animated The Complete AllSpark Almanac on his blog, Disciples of Boltax. First up, we have the new cover itself, drawn by Marcelo Matere and colored by Josh Perez. Secondly, Jim confirms that the book will include The AllSpark Almanac Addendum which was assembled for the Transformers Collectors' Club magazine, and about ten pages of new content teasing more of what Season 3.5 might look like. Here's the full quote form Jim himself:
"It looks like The Complete AllSpark Almanac is just three short weeks away, with an ETA of February 18th at fine comic book stores everywhere. (Probably hitting Amazon shortly thereafter, available for preorder now.) Here's Marcelo Matere's beautiful cover for the book, with excellent Josh Perez colors. (Josh also lent his talents to some of the new bonus material inside the book.) For those of you who missed our Radio Free Cybertron interview, this is going to be a massive, 472 page tome that combines The AllSpark Almanac, The AllSpark Almanac II, The AllSpark Almanac Addenda we put together for the Transformers Collectors' Club, and ten-ish pages of new content teasing more of what Season 3.5 might look like. We worked closely with Derrick Wyatt to ensure that the book was as close to 100% canon as possible, with all new material carefully vetted (and a bit of old material tweaked or recontextualized.) I hope that you all get a big kick out of this one. V1 and V2 are insanely hard to find and fetch ridiculous prices on the secondary market, so it's very nice to get this material back in print where everyone can get a copy." The book will be available in three weeks, on February 18 - be sure to pick yours up! |

Third party group DX9 Toys have updated their Weibo with some new images of their next release in their "Micro World" series, a version of Generation 1 Cyclonus.
DX9's Cyclonus is to stand roughly the same height as a current Legends class toy from the Generations line. He comes with a blaster which seems to be modeled after Cyclonus' Targetmaster partner, Nightstick. Check out the new images after the break. |

Next up, we're on to the Voyagers in our series of galleries looking at the new Combiner Wars Transformers toys, and so, here's Silverbolt! The leader of the Aerialbots with the crippling fear of heights is the first of the Generation 1 combiner team leaders to be updated for the Combiner Wars line, and he's rather cool.
Silverbolt himself is a great and faithful update of the original, right down to the passenger jet alternate mode that looks close to his original concord alternate mode. The robot mode likewise nails the look of the original, with all the style of an updated design much as we have been seeing throughout the Combiner Wars line. Silverbolt comes with a pair of accessories - a long rifle and a shield, both of which can mount on the arms, though the rifle also fits into Silverbolt's hands. The two accessories combine into a huge weapon which can mount beneath the nose of the jet mode. It even features a fake wheel molded in to compensate for the fact it covers the landing gear when attached. The main draw of the Combiner Wars toys, though, is combining them into a single gigantic robot, and Silverbolt serves as the torso of the combination. Any four limbs can attach to form a gigantic and poseable combined mode - and make no mistake, the big guy, Superion, can hold poses well. Even simply combining the toys is a joy to do. Silverbolt is a great example of what the Combiner Wars line is all about. He's solid on his own, but comes into his own if you also have the Deluxe class toys to make the limbs for his combined mode. Well worth checking out - and on that note, check out our gallery at the link below: Combiner Wars Voyager Silverbolt Gallery |

Here's a pleasant surprise - a new Transformers toy we knew nothing about has arrived at retail! TFW2005 member Kaiser reports that he has found a Rescue Bots version of Blurr at retail in Hong Kong. Blurr is a flashy looking purple race car with the style and aesthetics of the other recent Rescue Bots releases.
He's been found alongside the new mold Optimus Prime, who is a new sighting at retail in Hong Kong. There's been no sighting of Salvage, though, who was also previously teased as coming soon - so perhaps Blurr has raced into the new assortment ahead of Salvage? |

Jason Tolputt on Facebook via daimchoc on the 2005 Boards may have just given us our first look at the long-rumored Generations Combiner Wars Titan class Devastator from Nuremberg Toy Fair. Devastator appears to be very faithful to G1, lacking any influences from other continuities such as IDW, meaning no Prowl/"Prowlastator" here. TFW members have also noticed what looks to be his box right below him, showing six circles along its side, likely showcasing each separate component of the combiner
Also included in this image is the box of the Toys 'R' Us exclusive US release of Masterpiece Bluestreak who, from what we can tell, looks to be largely unchanged from his Takara release. There are also some other mystery items in the image that we can't quite make out yet, but keep an eye on this post for any future updates as TFW brings you all the latest news from Nuremberg Toy Fair! |

Unicron.com recently sat down with Jeff Kline, an executive producer for numerous Transformers projects of recent years including Transformers Prime, Rescue Bots, and most recently Robots In Disguise (2015). The interview provides some fantastic details about the Transformers Prime show and how it will continue its impact on Robots in Disguise. Most importantly, Mr. Kline has revealed/confirmed that season 1 of RID is complete and production for season 2 is already under way.
Jeff Kline: TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IS DISGUISE IS THE OFFICIAL NAME. RID IS CURRENTLY WRAPPING PRODUCTION ON 26 EPS. FOR SEASON 1… AND WRITING/RECORDING/BOARDING FOR SEASON 2. IT’S SLATED TO PREMIERE ON CARTOON NETWORK IN THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO, THOUGH I HAVEN’T YET HEARD A FIRM “PREMIERE DATE.” BUT, HONESTLY, MY CONTRACT WITH HASBRO ENDED IN DECEMBER, SO I MIGHT BE THE VERY LAST PERSON TO KNOW! (AFTER 5+ YEARS, FELT LIKE IT WAS TIME TO LIVE WITH MY FAMILY IN MAINE AGAIN…) Make the jump to read the full interview and get all of the details by Mr. Kline. Be sure to also comment in our discussion link below about RID season 2 (and 1, of course)! |

You can add this third party Dinobot to your collection shelves sometime this quarter as estimated by retailers. Check it out after the jump. |

Take a look at what's roaming the streets of China.
Courtesy of Baidu, we have a good look at a bus advertisement in China for Transformers: Robots In Disguise. The new show premiered there a while back and the success of the 4th Transformers movie may have led to a strong market for the Transformers figures. Premiere dates for France was announced not too long ago but we are yet to hear the US Premiere Date. |

The Transformers Collectors Club have been posting on Twitter, suggesting that the upcoming Collectors Club subscription figures Nacelle and Generation 2 Starscream will be the final two times that they make use of the mold:
From 2007-2015, we have provided 10 of the 31 versions of this now truly "classic" mold. Nacelle and G2 Starscream seem a fitting end. When TFSS 3.0 G2 Starscream ships, that may well be the final use of this mold. We have no future plans to use the Classics mold again. You'll note that, like when this was originally mooted at Botcon 2014 in California, there's a certain level of "not completely ruling it out" in the statements, but as it stands, it seems like with the 30th and 31st releases of the mold in the form of Nacelle and Generation 2 Starscream, the Collector's Club is retiring the use of the mold. |

Transformers Legends Swerve features a deeper shade of red in his deco to more closely match the colors of the Generation 1 original. His partner figure, meanwhile, has been completely redecoed to resemble the Generation 1 Micromaster Phaser, and now sports a white space shuttle deco rather than the US version's deep military blue deco.

Now some new information regarding Rescue Bots and a minor follow up from a story from yesterday! Yesterday, a new Rescue Bots Rescan Blurr was spotted, along with Rescan Optimus Prime, in Hong Kong. Which lead us to momentarily wonder what happened to Rescue Bots Salvage, as he had been previously shown to share a wave with the new Optimus. Well fear not, as 2005 Board member ShinHadouConvoy has found Salvage at his local Target in Dallas, TX. This Garbage truck bot will also join Hightide and Blurr among the new Rescue Bots characters. One remaining question remains is if Rescan Optimus is shipping with Salvage, just Blurr, or with both? This newsie is confident we'll find out the answer soon.
For now, click the title bar to discuss new Rescue bots and if they've been sighted in your area! |
