Third party group Shapeshift Inc has updated their Facebook page with new images of their unofficial Legion sized versions of Fall of Cybertron Starscream and Ironhide, named Skysnake and Heavymetal respectively. The pair owe a great deal to the engineering of Hasbro's offerings, particularly the Starscream who seems a downsized version of Hasbro's own official Deluxe class toy. The pair also feature metallic paint. Check out the new images attached to this post.

Here is something which may be of interest, though there is no Transformers connection - yet.
Shout Factory, who has been putting out the Transformers shows on DVD and Blu Ray in the US for some time now, has recently announced the launch of their own multi-platform channel, Shout Factory TV. The channel is being billed as a place to watch cult classic shows and movies, plus original specials. While there is no word on Transformers, the implication with Transformers shows coming off Netflix is that this may well end up being the home for the shows. Watch this space for more news, and check out the announcement video below: |

Hisashi Yuki has updated his Twitter feed with an in package image of the Takara-Tomy release of Windblade, the Fan Built Bot who got her US release last year. Windblade's Japanese release features extra red trim on the wings as well as reworked paint applications on the face to more closely resemble how she looks in Sarah Stone's artwork in the Windblade miniseries.
There is also a shot of all three female Autobots - Windblade, Arcee and Chromia - next to their boxes for you to enjoy. |

Via Bleeding Cool News, we have a glimpse of the Free Comic Book Day 2015 Transformers comic - which will be our very first look at the new Robots in Disguise cartoon on the printed page! The four page preview (which includes the cover and a wonderfully succinct summary of the series premise) may be viewed on Issuu - alternatively, we've embedded it for you after the break. Check it out!

Non-Transformers, but this will excite all of you who have been fans of transforming robots in the 1980s. Via Taghobby / Cybergundam on Facebook, we have a look at a whole line of Soul of Gokin (high-end release from Bandai) versions of several Machine Robos, who many of you may remember from the 1980s as the GoBots! The selection of characters in the line definitely seems to have been inspired by GoBots as well as Machine Robo, the original Japanese version of the series. The lineup shown thus far includes:
Plus there are one or two others. It looks like Bandai is serious about bringing back the Gobots / Machine Robos as a whole line of high-end collector releases, to compete with the Masterpiece Transformers. Discuss this revelation in the discussion thread linked below, and for more non-Transformers toy news, be sure to visit our sister site, The Toyark! |

Also via the Cybergundam Facebook feed, we have a look at a possible follow-on to the high-end non-transforming Ultimetal Optimus Prime, an Ultimetal Ultra Magnus. The piece on display at the hobby show this image was taken at shows a white version of Ultimetal Optimus Prime, but illustrations behind the display show the Magnus armor, implying that the final release may come with a full set of outer armor - which will give the figure two layers of armor, given how the Ultimetal Optimus Prime this was based on already had removable parts to show the inner workings.

Following on from our look at Blackjack, TFW2005 boards member Shark Jumper has once again come to us with an in-hand look at Generations Combiner Wars Legends Huffer, providing us with some images as well as his thoughts:
"Huffer is an odd remold of Prime instead of his own mold. No idea if Hasbro will quadruple dip this mold and attempt a Pipes remold. Huffer is a very bright and pleasing shade of orange. The only thing he shares in common with his G1 counterpart is his alt mode, head (at least g1 animation), orange feet, and blue torso (kinda). Head looks a bit small, but the Primes had the same issue. Also his wheels and gun are a dark brown color similar to Blackjack (Hasbro bought brown plastic in bulk?). Interesting thing about Huffer, he's the last G1 Autobot ark member to get a modern toy if you don't count Power Core Combiners Huffer and Roadhauler (only appeared once in the G1 cartoon and only has an e-hobby toy). Overall, I'm satisfied with Huffer, but just wish we got a new mold that looked more like G1 Huffer. Huffimus Prime is okay and at least finishes off all the Ark Autobots without having to buy the botcon exclusives or using PCC Huffer who barely resembles the G1 character more so." Let us know what you think of this figure after the jump! |

The Transformers Combiner Wars figures from the Generations line has been a collector favorite in 2015 and today we've received our first in-hand report of the Generations Leader Class Megatron! The bulk of our in-hand images originated from a Taiwan Facebook group, Transformers Prime TFP, and show off the Generation 1 deco of Leader Class Megatron. We also have confirmation that the Armada version is also available, but unfortunately no in-hand images were provided.
Exciting news for fans of the Generations line! These figures should be hitting more store shelves shortly. Check it out after the break! |

While Alex Milne has been the regular artist for More than Meets the Eye, there have been a few fill-ins from time to time - Guido Guidi, James Raiz, and Atilio Rojo, to name a few. Now, it looks like we can add another artist to that stable. Famed Japanese Transformers artist Hayato Sakamoto has just tweeted that he will be doing the artwork for the upcoming Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #39. A glance at the PreviewsWORLD listing for the issue also confirms this.
Sakamoto became known for his artwork on the BotCon 2014 set's comic, Hoist the Flag. Discuss your thoughts on this revelation after the jump! |

TFW2005 friend and site sponsor BigBadToyStore just put up preorder listings for ToyWorld's Gestalt Parts. You may recall this project started awhile back with their release of Grind Rod, a toy based on Throttlebot Rollbar. There was little secret that ToyWorld was also going to make this line of third party Throttlebots a combiner team, but updates have been few and far between.
Wait no longer as with the preorder listings and a Facebook update, the fully combined mode has been revealed! If you've stuck with this project from the start you can complete the line sometime during the second quarter when the figures based on G1 Freeway, Goldbug, and Wideload are released! Make the jump to check out the full details! Staff Edit: Tfsource has put up preorders for the new figures! |

Via @kamidukido on Twitter, we have a look at a limited run Transformers garage kit which is available at the Winter Wonderfest 2015 in Japan. This is a fully transformable resin kit of the Autobot Minerva from the Japanese series Chojin Masterforce. By accounts this will be quite a small figure, and it's one you need to assemble and paint yourself - therein lies the spirit of these limited run garage kits. She's also evidently got a great big mecha-longbow, which is definitely not from the original version!
Check out some images attached to this post and see what you think. |

Alan Moriguchi, the designer of the EM Gokin line for Art Storm, has posted some images of the color version of the EM Gokin God Ginrai. The highly stylized take on the ultimate form of the main hero of the Masterforce series is looking much improved over its early prototype images. The twitter post is tagged with "wf2015w", suggesting that the piece will either be showcased or sold at the Winter Wonderfest 2015.

Japanese translator Goktimus Prime has once again shared some more cool stuff with the fandom - this time sharing the instruction booklet cover art for Masterpiece Star Saber. While his involvement in the project is in producing the English language instructions for Star Saber's Australian market release, this booklet is for the Japanese release. Check out the artwork, which references the opening credits of Transformers Victory quite nicely!

Maketoys have released some images of their Remaster series Gun Dog, aka an unofficial Autobot Hound. Judging by these images, we can get a flavor for the size of this figure, which according to Maketoys stands at approximately 16.5 centimeters tall, or around 6 1/2 inches. Based on the size and the design, it's looking like the Remaster series truly is Maketoys moving into the market for unlicensed Masterpiece style Transformers. The figure also features two slightly different robot modes, modern and classic mode, which presumably means one is a more modern take on the design while the other is closer to the feel of the original Generation 1 Hound toy.

Maketoys have also released new images of their Remaster series Cupola, which is their Masterpiece flavored take on the Generation 1 Headmaster Autobot, Chromedome. This not-Chromedome stands 23cm tall, or just a shade over 9 inches - he's a big guy! The Headmaster is present, and the whole design is influenced not only by the Generation 1 toy, but also by the Japanese TV series, Transformers: The Headmasters, where Chromedome played a central role in the story.

Not to be outdone by Maktoys, TFC Toys have also released new images of their upcoming figure "Detective", which is their take on Generation 1 Autobot Hound, and is also through to be intended to fill in that Hound sized gap in your Masterpiece collections (at least until the official one comes along, Takara-Tomy willing).
These images show both the robot and alternate form of TFC's version of Hound. Additionally, courtesy of TFW2005 member Cheem the Rup, we have some useful comparison images of both the TFC and Maketoys takes on Hound. Check it all out attached to this post. |

Unicron.com has published the second part of their interview with Jeff Kline; the executive producer of Transformers: Robots In Disguise. On this interview, he mentions several things regarding the decision to move the show to Cartoon Network, the crew, the animation and the Premises of the show.
"The motivation behind moving robots in disguise to cartoon network was to put the series in front of more eyeballs right out of the gate; CN is on more cable systems across America than discovery family. But, I have yet heard what its timeslot will be." "Robots In Disguise is definitely a lighter, more comedic take on the transformers universe. There's no ancient war being fought, meaning we can actually take the time to set-up a joke, and not feel guilty about it. Bee is front and center. Optimus' status is more mysterious than sorrowful. And there's a younger, more inexperienced (aka less battle-weary) cast of characters. *** Lighter. Brighter. Even a little goofier. 'Cuz we've always viewed the Autobots (and Decepticons) as people, not machines. And people are funny!" "Visually, the series is absolutely pushing the boundaries of what is technologically possible when mixing 3D characters with 2D backgrounds. Once again, we're doing all the design work, all the storyboards, etc. In-house⦠but partnering with our pals at Polygon for the actual animation -- 'cuz those guys are the best there ever was..." "The bulk of the Robots In Disguise team is the same as the Prime team. And that's by design. I have a very small "circle of trust"..." Ypu can read the full interview with more details, at Unicron.com. |

A larger Elite Rescue Heatwave is also part of the wider ocerarching assortment, who has been previously spotted at retail. |
