Thanks to TFW2005 members JaY88 and mcluskyism for passing along some retail sighting news from the UK. Wave 4 of the Transformers Hero Mashers line has been spotted, which will contain Robots In Disguise versions of Optimus Prime, Strongarm and Clampdown. This is the first place that Clampdown has been made available in toy form!
This looks to be the first place worldwide that this assortment is available - like the previous assortment which has been turning up in Australia, Canada, the UK and Germany since February this year, these have yet to hit the USA. Make the jump to discuss the find and see the mirrored image. |

Earlier this week we reported Mastermind Creations announcement of Stuido OX Inspired Insecticons. At that time "Shrapnel" was being refined, but we've received an update showing off that particular prototype in full (images mirrored after the jump).
Potestas, Calcitrant, and Inflecto are all still in the prototype stage, but updates seem to be moving along at a good pace. Hit the discussion link below to continue the talk. |

Via Lost-Zzl on Weibo, we have some new images of the Masterpiece Generation 2 Bumblebee. A shiny redeco of the existing Masterpiece Bumblebee, this new version of Bumblebee swaps out the Exo-Suit that came with the regular release for a rocket pack, as used by Bumblebee in the classic Generation 1 two-part episode Dinobot Island. Check out the images attached to this post.

As fans, we always discuss various aspects of this wonderful franchise. There's love, there's hate. Agreements, arguments. This is why Transformers is one of the best franchises in the world. And then there's kids; one of the target demographics. So, what do they have to say about Transformers? That's exactly the question the producers of "Kids React" asked from this bunch of kids. The answers sure are eye-openers. Find out what they have to say...

Maketoys has updated their website with the announcement of another installment in their "Re:Master" series. This time we have the Visualizors team, a Masterpiece styled Reflector. According to their website the figures are 16cm tall, consist of Rangefinder, Monocular and Analyzer, and are schedule for a July release date. These figures seemed to have been ramped up in production/release over the first three announced Maketoys Masterpiece styled releases. Most likely to compete with 3rd party releases from Fanstoys and KFC.

The schedule for Botcon 2015 has now been made available. For those attending (and those following our coverage at home) you might want to take a look at this.
The key panels for news are on Saturday. Saturday 20 June from Noon-12:50 is the ubiquitous Hasbro Product Preview panel (aka, new shinies for you to put money aside for!). That's followed the same day at 3:00-3:50 with the Transformers Collectors’ Club Roundtable, where we just might see some 2016 fan club exclusives! Notably, neither IDW for Transformers comics or Hasbro Studios for the cartoons are represented, so guess for those, we're waiting for SDCC. There's also plenty more panels for those attending to check out. There's a "Behind the characters" session with Derrick Wyatt on the Friday, along with a "Birth of Transformers" panel, where we're hoping Kojin Ono might share some of his experience in creating the earliest toys that would become Transformers. Saturday brings us a G1 retrospective panel and a panel about the Japanese perspective, along with a panel about the online Transformers Fandom. Sunday has a panel about the art of Transformers, along with a script reading titled "The Return of Blurr", featuring the talents of Susan Blu, John Moschitta, Frank Todaro & friends. It's all in all a nice and varied convention panel selection, with more than just toys to look forward to. We hope all who are attending take the time to embrace the opportunity offered by these panels - and share their thoughts and feedback on our 2005 boards! Botcon 2015 is taking place in the Pheasant Run resort, in St. Charles, Illinois, over the weekend of 19-21 June. To find out more and pre-register, head on over to Botcon.com. |

UK Retailer Smyths Toys has revealed a brand new set of images featuring Transformers: Robots In Disguise Mega Optimus Prime. For the first time, we have a good look at a gimmick for the toy (probably paying homage to the Armada Optimus Prime); where the RID Minicon toys can be attached to the figures as additional armor.
Product Details Transformers Robots in Disguise Mega Optimus Prime can convert from mighty robot mode to semi truck mode in just 3 steps. You can unlock Mega Optimus Prime character in the Transformers Robots in Disguise app by scanning your figure’s badge into the app. (Device not included.) Decepticons will never be able to handle your fast-changing Mega Optimus Prime figure! Features

Thanks to TFW2005 boards member Alterator for reporting a purchase of an Age of Extinction Power Battlers Vehicon! This retail find, a first for US stores, was found at a local Ross in Central Florida for the grand total of $5.99.
At least one other sighting was reported on a Transformers Facebook group, Transformers Addicts. We're not sure if this is the same sighting or a different one, but either way we hope those that are looking for this Vehicon get their hands on one. Hit the discussion link below for more info. |

The Maketoys news continues as they've also updated their website with color images of Axle, their version of Groove! This figure which will come with the rest of the Protectobots in their "Guardia" combiner set. Scheduled release date on Maketoys' website is July, but take that with a grain of salt at the moment. The new pictures show Axle in various poses showing off his poseability and also include one shot of his motorcycle mode. It's extremely impressive looking so far.

More 3rd party news this morning from Maketoys, as their website has also revealed colored test shot images of Cupola, their version of a Masterpiece styled Generation 1 Chromedome. The head of the figure is unpainted at this time, but the rest of the figure gives us a clear indication of how this is shaping up thus far. The figure is scheduled for a July release.
Check out the images after the break. |
