Armor Knight Optimus Prime is to the regular Age of Extinction Leader Optimus Prime what Buster Optimus Prime was to the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime - a toy that takes the base Leader toy we got at mass retail and then improves on it, with remolded elements, new accessories, and a premium level of paint to become the definitive version. For Armor Knight Optimus Prime, this meant a lot of remolding including the chest, arms and head, the latter of which was also reworked to include a gimmick to allow Optimus' face to switch from a faceplate head to an unmasked one. The paint is also a step up and really helps to put this one over. If you've not got a toy of this new Movie Optimus Prime, right now, this is the definitive item.

The artwork suggests a few things to us. The reflection of Devastator in Arcee's meelee weapon and the fact that this is a boxed set may be an indication that this set will be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive, as the sets could be made to "face off" with each other. There are several notable details that suggest additional paint applications (such as the Autobot faction symbol on Arcee's face) that could indicate a "Premium" type of release, which would also be consistent with a SDCC exclusive release.

You have that meeting and plan out episodes according to that, but doing so in a way that tells the best possible stories. You’re not just cramming toys in there. You want to tell a cool story and help with what they’re doing as well. And it just runs from there.

It’s pretty rare that a brand will come back to you in the middle of your season and say, “By the way, we’ve come up with a new figure that will be on the shelves of the toy stores tomorrow. Get it into the next episode!” There’s not any time for things like that. So after that initial meeting, you’re well aware of what you want to do over the course of the season and how to make everyone happy. From there, you’re free to tell the coolest stories you can."

There's two art styles at work in this preview, with the Combiner sequences being done by Marcelo Ferreira and the sequences played out by "normal sized" giant robots by Corin Howell - both bring their own style to the book, and they create an interesting but not displeasing juxtaposition.
