When asked in a recent MTV.com interview who his favorite Transformers were in his upcoming Revenge of the Fallen film, Michael Bay had a revealing response: none other than brothers Mudflap and Skids! Here's what he had to say:
"The twins are quite fun," Bay said of the comedy-relief duo, remembering his inspiration for including them. "I just kept thinking, 'What if we have two dumb Transformers that are young and dumb?' ... They are just irreverent, dumb Transformers." Read the entire interview from MTV.com here! |

TF08.net has updated with photos of two new Revenge of the Fallen helmets. There is a new voice-changer Optimus Prime helmet and a Bumblebee helmet with voice mixer capability. As a bonus, the back of the Optimus Prime packaging mentions an artifact well-known to longtime fans. To see what it is, click the title bar and zoom in on the photo!

Kotaku, IGN, & Joystiq were given a preview of the Transformers Revenge of The Fallen video game. Here is some of their initial impressions:
Luxoflux wanted to give gamers more control over the experience besides just choosing what faction you belong to. Yes, you will be able to play as both the Autobots and the Decepticons, but you'll have much more freedom to select characters and the game will apparently boast the biggest roster in any Transformers game to date. The overall mission structure has also been reworked to give players more control by making the experience non-linear. The demo master showed us how Starscream could hover between boats, blasting at planes and anti-air turrets. Of course, he could do the mission by flying around in jet form, landing, transforming, shooting and then going back into jet mode to reach another boat. But the hover ability will definitely be the key to a gold medal on this mission. Online multiplayer was mentioned only briefly and we were given an equally truncated glimpse of Optimus Prime battling Devastator, a Decepticon easily 8-10 times his size and built from construction vehicles. And with that it was a wrap. With an integrated medal system, leaderboards and plenty of unlockables -- as well as a full upgrade suite for the single-player experience -- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will hopefully be a huge step beyond the original game. If the multiplayer works well, this could be a seriously entertaining title. Click on the title bar to see new screen shots! |

A question and answer thread had been posted at Shout! Factory's message board clarifying some info about the upcoming DVD set of G1 Season One, the Complete Series boxset, and upcoming TF projects. The answers are coming from Brian Ward, Producer/Manager, DVD & Home Video. Ward gives us insights on the masters used, the audio, the packaging and the bonus features. In part:
Hasbro provided us with the same masters Rhino used for their releases. HOWEVER... There have been changes made. I, personally, went to New York, where the original broadcast one-inch masters are housed, and found each of the problem areas, in regards to animation. Before the question is asked, I'll answer it now. The one-inch masters have not physically held up well over the years. In some cases, they're nearly unwatchable. Therefore, instead of simply transferring and using masters of the one-inches, we found every instance of faulty animation demonstrated on a YouTube video or mentioned in a rundown we could find online (and even found some of our own) and corrected them, replacing the faulty digibeta master material with the best-quality one-inch source material. Finally, we color corrected everything to match--as best we could--the shots before and after. Surprisingly, unless you know specifically what you're looking for, you won't even notice many of the instances of slightly softer picture. It looks REALLY good. Read the entire thread here! |

2005 boards member Ricochet has given us information on the upcoming Transformers Henkei trade paperback, a compilation of ongoing serial comics appearing in Monthly Comic BunBun. This is not a collection of the insert comics that come with the Henkei toys, though the artist of those comics, Naoto Tsushima, is the same artist on this compilation.
This compilation is set for release in May, and will retail for 490 yen. Click on the thumbnail to the left to take a closer look at the cover! |

Time to get psyched.
Michael Bay has posted two and a half minutes of Revenge of the Fallen goodness. The actual video is what was shown at ShoWest 2009 and features a touching scene between Bumblebee and Sam, and then a bunch of robot-on-robot fighting. Also seen is the first footage of Devastator in action. What are you waiting for? *Exclusive* Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Footage from Bay Films/Michael Bay Dot Com on Vimeo. |

A new pre-order listing has appeared on Amazon.com for the novelization of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. The description includes an ominous tagline:
“THE FALLEN SHALL RISE AGAIN. . . .” This cryptic warning is ignored by the national security adviser who feels the ruthless Decepticon threat is no more. The allies are victorious, the enemy has been defeated, and the world is safe. Small attacks around the world have been contained, and the remaining pieces of the coveted Allspark are locked in an electromagnetic vault on one of the most secure Naval bases in the world. But nothing is at it seems, and there is a shift in the shadows. Things can change in an instant–and fragile peace will become all-out war. The novel will be released on May 19th, but why wait when you can read the first chapter courtesy of Del Rey online. Be warned, spoilers lie within! |
