The Evil Autobots Facebook page has been updated with a close up look at that new head on Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus. The new head is an interesting one - on closer inspection, it's a crystal skull with a cracked and warped version of the Optimus Prime helmet around it. It's two parts demonic Optimus Prime head and one part medieval war helmet. While it's not much like an Ultra Magnus head, it does a good job at being some kind of corrupted, dark reflection on a Prime - and perhaps that's the character behind this take on Ultra Magnus.
In any case, does this change your view on the toy? Does it make it easier for you to accept as a different character (or repurpose as someone else entirely in your collection)? Sound off on our 2005 Boards by hitting that discuss button! |

2005 Boards member bigspenders76 has shared some interesting images - in-hand images of upcoming Transformers Prime toys in package. These toys include the Deluxe Wheeljack, Cyberverse Commander Bulkhead, and Cyberverse Legion Bumblebee and Vehicon. These packages - the European multilingual packaging - suggest that we are getting bios on the packaging. Time will tell if this is for real.
In the meantime, enjoy these in-package images - it's worth noting that these come from the backroom of an Argos store, a UK catalog store chain who are launching their spring / summer catalog next Saturday. With these evidently in the stock rooms, could we be seeing an earlier than the advertised March release date for the Transformers Prime toys in the UK? Watch this space! |

Some new images of the Fans Want It leader Ironhide cannons and blades have been posted at ACToys. The new images demonstrate how the cannons and blades both have arm mounted and handheld options, plus the blades can also mount on the robot's back or combine into a larger double blade weapon.
The set is up for preorder at our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store and set for a release in February 2012. |

Takara-Tomy's Twitter account has provided some new images of five more campaign exclusive Microns, mostly based on recolored Power Core Combiner Mini-Cons. Of the five shown in this tweet, Autobot Peaceman is one we've seen before. The others seem to include a clear yellow and a solid gray version of Leadfoot's Pinpoint, a solid gray version of Blowpipe, and a clear green version of Universe Cyclonus' Targetmaster, Nightstick.
A further tweet confirmed that the clear yellow Pinpoint would be named "Firebolt Clear Yellow Version" and would be exclusively available at the New Generation World Hobby Fair 2012. Takara-Tomy recently updated their own website with information on this event, including details of how children would be able to vote for their favorite Transformers Prime character and would receive a Micron gift for doing so. While not named on the Takara-Tomy page, it's likely that this Firebolt Clear Yellow Edition is the exclusive Micron which they refer to. The solid gray version of Pinpoint in itself is interesting as it was used in the Generations 2011 comic strip as a Targetmaster partner for an as-yet unmade Classics Artfire. However given its name is Firebolt it seems that logically it might actually be intended as a companion piece to the upcoming United Rodimus Prime, whose 1987 Targetmaster toy had a partner named Firebolt. |

A new listing on auction site, Taobao, has revealed what appears to be a Mount St. Hillary playset possibly made by a 3rd party group. While the volcano playset is missing the Autobot's crashed shuttle, The Ark, this item does feature; a flip down Teletran-1 computer, is compatible with Legends, Cyberverse or Heroes of Cybertron Figures and opens up into a small base. No word on who is responsible for this set just now, but we'll keep you posted here on TFW.
Check out the images after the break. |

Do obscure references made by 3rd Party groups tickle your fancy? Good. Then Dr. Wu has something in store for you. A new picture has surfaced on website toyspie of their Metroplex eye accessory. This picture depicts Generations Scourge holding Metroplex's eye just like the character does, while possessed by Starscream, in the Generation 1 episode Ghost in The Machine.
Take a look at the image and then head over to the 2005 Boards to discuss this item! |

Mastershooter Collectibles have posted a couple of updates on Facebook - the first is that their next project after the Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr and Scourge Targetmasters is going to be the other six Targetmaster partners that originally went with Sureshot, Crosshairs, Pointblank, Misfire, Slugslinger and Trigger Happy. Some early CGI renders are attached to this post.
The second update from Mastershooter regards that first series of Targetmasters - they should be going up for preorder "within a couple of days". |

Sky.ap.teacup.com has posted an article which shows a Transformers Prime display from World Hobby Fair, held in Osaka. Curiously enough, a retooled version of Transformers Prime Voyager Optimus Prime was on display, with:
The panel in 6th picture says that this (or these?) weapon has a secret and it will be revealed in Korokoro comic magazine April issue (which will out on March 15th). I think (the)blade-like weapon is same as the one which is in teaser image with new mold voyager optimus. In any case, looks like come April, TakaraTomy has a more G1-inspired(deco-wise) Optimus on the way for the Transformers Prime line! Check out this "new" Prime for yourself after the jump! |

Our sister site Thundercats.ws is running a contest where you can win a modern Thundercats: Season 1 Episode 1 - The Sword of Omens Part 1 Script, signed by King Claudus (and original Lion-O voice actor) himself, Larry Kenney. Not only that, but this script is slightly different than the episode that aired! We normally don't cross-promote the contests like this, but a unique item of this nature is something worth checking out.
Check out the details HERE. |

Here's something a bit cool we thought was worth sharing with you all - Transformers artist extraordinaire Guido Guidi has posted up a "Neo-Seeker" design on his Deviant Art account. While not an official piece of work for a Transformers project - bolded that for emphasis to avoid confusion - it's just a warm-up piece Guido did while also experimenting with a more streamlined style, in the vein of the Transformers Animated / Transformers Prime look.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I think Guido's nailed the look pretty convincingly with this piece! Could this be a taste of the future evolution of Guido's art work for Transformers? Would it be a style you'd like to see more of? |

Chevrolet.com has added a photo gallery to their website promoting their latest "2012 Transformers Special Edition" Camaro, decorated to look much like one of those Transformers robots from the movies (care to guess which one?*). This gallery clearly shows that this new edition does take a few liberties in design (notably the rear spoiler) while still remaining faithful to its on-screen counterpart. There is also an optional upgrade package that consists of black ground effects and black 21" wheels that can be purchased separately. If you have ever wanted a chance to own a movie car, perhaps one of these Special Edition Camaro cars is for you, as there is still time enough to order one of these from you local Chevrolet dealer!

The official Transformers Facebook page has updated with a Q&A with one of the Transformers Prime character designers, Augusto Barranco. This Q&A brings forward some great background information on how some of the character's design features came to be, and is a fantastic read for those interested in what goes on in the design process of the Transformers Prime cast. Be sure to click on that link above and have a read of this latest Q&A.
