Japan's Winter Wonder Festival continues to churn out Transformers news despite the lack of TakaraTomy being at the show itself, this time thanks to CM's Corp. As we've seen previously, CM's Corp is making a toy based on Minerva from Super God Masterforce as well as Ginrai from the same show in their Gutto Kuru line.
At their booth at WonFest we now additional pics of a resin prototype Ginrai and (a possible final version) Minerva, as well as an upcoming "Minerva Special Edition" figure based on the colors of Nightbeat (and the Minerva Night Beat special release in Japan.) Also shown off on the Minerva Special poster (as well as staring at the camera menacingly on display with the two Minervas) is an extra head based on Hi-Q from the Marvel Comics Transformers run that can be attached to the Gutto Kuru Ginrai's body. |

Well folks, here is the bad news that I think a lot of you feared was coming, but did not want to hear regardless. There's been some question to the fate of several upcoming releases left in the Transformers Dark of the Moon line - the sixth wave of Deluxes Wheeljack (aka Autobot Que) and Soundwave, the Target Exclusive two pack of Leadfoot and Twin Twist, as well as Human Alliance Soundwave. Well, by way of El Duque of Seibertron, we have an answer - they are cancelled. These toys are no longer planned for a US release. The same fate has befallen them as with previous assortments, including the Reveal the Shield Voyagers and final assortments of Transformers Animated - low retailer demand in anticipation of the new line.
As always, there is a slender chance that at least some of these - Wheeljack and both versions of Soundwave - might surface at Marshalls, Ross or other discount stores - but for the moment, all of these - including Leadfoot - have only seen a release in Japan. |

Each day over the last week, the Official Transformers Facebook page has revealed to us new official pictures of upcoming Transformer products. All in which, to promote Hasbro's presence at this weeks Toy Fair in New York and all of the goodies that were revealed to us this weekend. Shown at Toyfair was another look at Fall of Cybertron Bruticus, which has some color differences from the first picture we saw of the combiner. Today's last reveal also shows off these colors.
Take a look at the image after the break! |

The Oscar's are going down live in two weeks time and thewrap.com has posted an interview with Greg P. Russel. Who is Greg P. Russel? Well, Greg is one of several sound mixers nominated for an Oscar award this year. Nominated for his work on Transformers: Dark Of the Moon, the interview goes into depth about what exactly he does for films, what other films he's worked on and how he brought to life all those exploding sounds in Michael Bay's blockbuster. Greg has been nominated for an Oscar for all three Transformer's films.
Read the full interview at the link above and head over to the 2005 Boards to discuss. The 84th Academy Awards Ceremony will be shown on Sunday, February 26th on ABC. |

Snakas has updated his blog with an image of some prototypes of the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Arms Microns, on show at the Winter Wonderfest 2012. These small Targetmaster type figures are modelled on their owners - the mainline Optimus Prime and Bumblebee - and transform into their weapons. They will also be released as capsule toys in May 2012.

The official Transformers Facebook page has thrown us another nugget of news. Today, it's an in game shot of Fall of Cybertron Bruticus. According to our Toyfair coverage, forming Bruticus and playing as the character will be essentially like playing with "God-mode" and everything will be destructible.
Check out the big guy about to destroy everything he sees by clicking on the title bar! |

When it was originally announced, the upcoming Last Stand Of The Wreckers Hardcover Trade edition listed an additional 40 pages to what was released with the paperback. Thanks to some detective work from 2005 Board member Abrogate we now have a table of contents of what exactly the new features in the collection will be. All courtesy of an updated Amazon.com preorder.
In addition to what was included with the paperback of Last Stand of The Wreckers, the hardcover will also include the following:

This is it folks. It's official! Michael Bay himself confirmed the Release Date of Transformers 4.
June 29, 2014 "There has been a lot of speculation about what I'm going to do next and when or if I will do another Transformers. So let me set the record straight. I have just concluded a deal with Paramount to do two movies, but it won't be two Transformers. I will first do 'Pain & Gain' with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Then I will do the next Transformers for release on June 29, 2014. -Michael Bay" Stay Tuned With TFW2005 For The Fastest TF4 News On The Planet!

TVshowsondvd have updated their listing for Transformers Masterforce with new artwork for the cover of the DVD set. This just announced US release from Shout Factory is due for a May 1st Release this year, the second of the three previous Japanese-only Transformers cartoons. This series was previously only available in the larger trilogy pack. A description from the listing for the series is as follows;
A LONG-AWAITED CLASSIC TRANSFORMERS TITLE AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN N. AMERICA! This is essentially Season 2 of the Japanese series, where Season 1 was Headmasters. Following their victory over the DESTRONS (aka Decepticons) at the end of Headmasters, the CYBERTRONS (aka Autobots) depart Earth, leaving behind only a small group to protect the planet from any future menace. But when the powerful DESTRONS return to an unsuspecting planet, the CYBERTRONS must come out of hiding to defend their human friends once again - only this time they'll be unable to do it on their own. 42 episodes on 5 DVDs plus an art gallery. Original Japanese audio with all-new (and improved!) English subtitles. Will Victory follow next? Fans can certainly hope! Read on to discuss with your fellow fans. |

Superhero Hype brings word that a fourth installment in the CGI spectacular that is the live action Transformers movies is allegedly in the works for 2014. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura at an event for G.I. Joe Retaliation stated:
We'll be there in the summer of 2014 He also commented on how they can possibly follow on from the ending of Dark of the Moon, which left several major characters on the scrapheap - namely, it will be a partial reboot / sidestory, which is its own entity but set in the same universe: "Again, we're going to try to do a hybrid there where there will be some characters that come forward--we think, we're still in the process of figuring it out--and some characters that don't, but it will definitely be a different story." Update: More info pouring-in thanks to various sources. Michael Bay Is Returning. “Yeah Michael’s gonna direct and it’ll be releasing in the summer of 2014. We’re excited and I think the challenge there is we really are gonna do a reboot, and what that’s gonna be we don’t even know yet.” "But the truth is, it’s gonna be a whole new story. The characters that would certainly come along would be Optimus and Bumblebee I’m sure." Thanks to MTV we have a video of the interview. But the video is region locked. 2014 is of course also the 30th Anniversary of Transformers - so how cool would a new live action movie be in addition to whatever else is planned for the inevitable 30th anniversary toyline? |

Our sponsor Robotkingdom has just posted a preorder of the upcoming Transformers: Prime Entertainment Pack featuring both Bumblebee and Starscream. Notably, these are from the First Edition molds, of which many fans have been scrambling for due to the latest cancellation news of the First Edition toys. Both toys feature decos slightly different than their First Edition counterparts. Bumblebee has exchanged some of his black stripes for blue, and Starscream features a bit more purple in some of his detailed areas.
Also to note, the set comes with two MECH figures, one of which is the their leader, Silas. These are in much the same style that we have already seen of Raf from the 2011 NYCC exclusive set. You can place a preorder with Robotkingdom on their preorder page here. What do you think of these figures and their new decos? Be sure to share your thoughts in the ongoing discussion. |

Several 2005 Board members are reporting getting an e-mail from the Transformers Collectors' Club saying that their orders for the Collectors Club exclusive figures, Over-Run (aka Runabout) and Shattered Glass Drift are being shipped. So far, these e-mails are only being received by members who placed their order prior to Fun Publications' stopping preorders due to their credit card processor being overwhelmed.
Be sure to check your inboxes and then shortly after that, your mailboxes! |

3rd Party Group, Corbot V, have udpated their website with official images of their Carnage Axe. The Carnage Axe was produced in lower numbers compared to their original War Axe, so the group recommends picking it up soon before it sells out! Among their official pictures are various Transformers holding the axe, including a stunning shot (in this news posters opinion) of Generations Sky Shadow wielding the weapon.
Corbot V also teases us with an axe that is completely silver. Upcoming product? We'll see! Check out the new images after the break and then head over to the 3rd Party discussion forum to discuss all things 3rd Party! |
