2005 boards member SALI has found the Barricade with Decepticon Frenzy set from the Human Alliance subline of Revenge of The Fallen at a Walmart in California! Previously, this figure was available only overseas, and via etailers such as site sponsor BigBadToyStore. The latest Human Alliance figure is also the 1st Decepticon in the line! Could others such as Sideways follow?
Happy hunting! |

The E-Hobby Masterpiece MP-01B Convoy Black Version is now out and available for purchase! But, I hear you cry, was he not released late last year? It is true that Masterpiece Convoy Black Version was released late in 2009, however, that version came with a commemorative plaque and bag. This version, on the other hand, is the "true" E-Hobby release, which comes with an exclusive comic book, in the same vein as past E-Hobby exclusives such as Fire Guts God Ginrai.
Of course, it's the same great toy that has already been available. But if you have not yet got the black repaint of Masterpiece Convoy, and you have one pack in or the other in mind for your collection, you might want to contact the retailer to confirm if you will be getting a comic or a plaque. |

Veteran Japanese seiyuu (voice actor), actor and narrator Daisuke Gori passed away after apparently taking his own life in Tokyo on Sunday. Mr Gori's Transformers roles included Destron Pretender Dauros in Transformers Masterforce, Goryu & Dinoking in Transformers Victory, and perhaps most significantly Soundwave in the dub of Revenge of the Fallen. He is perhaps better remembered by anime fans for his roles as Robin Mask in Kinnikuman, Umigame and Mr. Satan in Dragonball, Dozle Zabi in Gundam, as well as providing the voice of big bad Heihachi Mishima in the Tekken series.
You can read an English language version of the article, posted originally on the Tokyo Shimbum paper, over at Anime News Network. On behalf of the staff of TFW2005, I offer my condolences to Mr Gori's family in this difficult time. |

TFW2005 has an early review on another Transformers comic! Today's review is for Bumblebee #2 by IDW Publishing, which will be released in comic book stores tomorrow - Wednesday, January 20th. Check out the review and a few new images from the issue by clicking on the Title Bar or thumbnail to the left.
Bumblebee #2 Credits Publisher: IDW Publishing Written by: Zander Cannon Art by: Chee Colors by: Moose Baumann Letters by: Chris Mowry Editor: Andy Schmidt Associate Editor: Denton J. Tipton Covers Cover A ā Art by Guido Guidi and Colors by Josh Burcham Cover B ā Art by Chee and Colors by Moose Baumann Retailer Incentive ā Art by Chee Review Bumblebee #2 takes place soon after where Issue #1 left off and immediately following Transformers Ongoing Issue #3. The start of the issue features Blurr on the run following the ambush by Skywatch that resulted in the capture of three Autobots while Bumblebee and his crew of Autobots are hunting him down following the ultimatum from Skywatchās rogue Colonel Horiuchi. Whereas the first issue of the Bumblebee mini-series appeared as if the four-issue set would be a self-contained story spinning off from the events of the ongoing series, Issue #2 definitely illustrates that the remainder of this series will likely intertwine itself with the events of the ongoing series over the next few months. With the recap of the ongoing series events in the first issue, Zander Cannon is able to dive right into the story and kick off the issue immediately with action. At the same time, Zander is able to tie in the events of the ongoing series quite easily and ensuring readers of both comics do not get confused between the stories written by two different authors. Bumblebee begins to step up to his newly elected title this episode, starting to drive the events of this issue instead of having the events guide him like seen in Bumblebee #1. An event from the first half of the issue results in Bumblebee evaluating the situation and determining that he, as elected leader, is responsible for the well-being of his crew. Bumblebee, as a result, takes the initiative, develops a game plan, and speaks eloquently to his crew without hesitation. A motivational speech delivered by Bumblebee moves his crew emotionally and any sign of dissent within the group is no longer evident. More so than any other recent Transformers comic, this issue does a terrific job at defining the spirit of both the Autobot and Decepticon causes. On that note, the issue is not devoid of Decepticon presence. Provided is more insight on Skywarpās mission and a surprise appearance that will carry into the next issue. Along with the positives in the writing mentioned above, there was an aspect of the writing that seemed to slow down the issue whenever that aspect was utilized. In an effort to simulate in writing how Blurr would talk (ala the Generation One cartoon), there are no spaces between the words (see preview images below) which in turn makes each speech bubble harder to read. While the trick is meant to simulate Blurrās super fast speech patterns, it causes one to read slower and think harder just to comprehend what Blurr is saying. Itās also an effect that was not used for Blurr in previous IDW comics until now. Cheeās art continues to provide another shock to the system, mostly in part because of the style featured in this mini-series continues to be quite different than that featured in the ongoing series. The art is very stylized, with a very washed out feel. The designs revert back to the traditional robots versions that long time fans are used to. The style does not illustrate facial emotions well, so emotion is generally shown through hand gestures and character actions. Bumblebee #2 is definitely worth the read, but one would need to read the first three issues of the ongoing series and Bumblebee #1 to completely understand the events that occur. Although the story does not seem to be headed towards one of the greatest battles or resolution in Transformers comic history, the story remains interesting and continues to make the reader wonder where itās heading. Plus, who can resist a likeable little guy who takes charge? |

The box set, featuring repaints of the Generation 1 figure Skids and Cross Cut into color schemes of Skids and Mudflap from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, was a mail order item available to those who purchased Volume 3 of the Transformers Generations 2009 book. There were 2000 sets produced and could be purchased for 7700 Yen. The set includes a mini-comic as well. The bios, for a change, are part of the back of the packaging instead of a separate card insert. Check out images of the box and a glimpse of the comic by clicking on the thumbnail to the left.

Three new Revenge of the Fallen RPMs battle packs have been released in the Philippines! We just got our first look at Enforcer Ironhide VS Mixmaster earlier today - together with the previously seen Optimus Prime VS Desert Long Haul and a previously unseen Jetfire VS Megatron set, they make up the Revenge of the Fallen RPMs Battle Packs Wave 5. As they are out at retail in the Philippines, a US release should not be far behind - although RPMs Battle Packs Wave 4 (consisting of Sideswipe VS Wreckloose, Nightwatch Bumblebee VS Patrol Barricade and Optimus Prime VS Bonecrusher) have yet to be sighted at US retail. Could both waves hit retail stores at the same time? Watch this space for more information.

Thanks to S250 and his anonymous source, we have two new images of an upcoming PowerCore Combiner figure. Although the name was not revealed, the figure is a Decepticon who turns into a rescue firetruck. The images also reveal that the smaller partners will be called Mini-Cons. In this case, the Mini-Con's name is Chopster and he has four modes of play. Chopster can be an individual robot, weapon (gun) for the partner's vehicle mode, weapon (ax) for the partner's robot mode, and power-up armor for the partner's robot mode. Although the identity of the figure is not revealed, the image of the robot mode clearly shows the word "Commander" below the robot. Check out the images of the figure by clicking on the thumbnail to the left and click on the Discuss button to speculate on the identify of the character!

Action Figs.com have posted official Hasbro images of Battle Ops Bumblebee! Also variously known as the fifth Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class toy and "Cyber Ops Bumblebee", these images reveal that in fact this new Bumblebee is something else entirely, packaged in a box which has a different style to the Revenge of the Fallen packaging and lacking the Revenge of the Fallen name. Could this be the packaging style for an upcoming line that will carry on the Movie franchise with more Movie style toys?
There are also out of package images showing both robot and vehicle modes for Bumblebee, which reveal a "try me" pull ring on the right arm that activates the lights and sounds, and his chain guns which are deployable in both robot and vehicle mode (there appear to be enough hinges for them to retract in vehicle mode in any case). |

Collection Station has put up new, official Hasbro images of the next two entries into the Transformers Animated Voyager assortment - Mudbuster Bulkhead and Thundercracker. These new images show off the robot and vehicle modes of these two new Animated toys, as well as in package images. As an added bonus, the bios have also been posted:
Mudbuster Bulkhead: Sneaking has never been one of the things at which BULKHEAD excels. He prefers to change directly into action, causing as much chaos as possible. When he discovers the CONTSTRUCTICONS⢠up to no good at a local construction site, thatās exactly what he does. Mud and debris spray up from his wheels as he speeds into the middle of the site, ready to smash DECEPTICONSĀ® with his wrecking ball. Thundercracker: STARSCREAMĀ® has a bad reputation for being arrogant, but his clone THUNDERCRACKER has perfected the art of being self-involved. Heās absolutely convinced that heās the best looking, most talented, most dangerous robot ever built. He refuses to work with most other DECEPTICONSĀ®, arguing that they just make him look bad. |
