Servoslag has posted an interesting interview with IDW artist Livio Ramondelli, regarding his work on Transformers Monstrosity and how it all fits into the wider mythology of Transformers that IDW is creating. There is also some talk of a possible third series to follow up this one, which it is suggested might be a full on war series if it happens.
Other key points revealed in the interview are how Monstrosity and Spotlight Shockwave reconcile with each other, how the Quintesson Pentius plays into the previous tease at the end of Spotlight Wheelie, and a tease of what to expect in the remainder of this digital-first series. Check out the full interview here! |

A temporary page has gone up for the next Transformers Legends game event by Mobage. Next up is "Day of the Dinobots Part 2", which sounds as though it will feature a whopping five bosses - all five Dinobots, Grimlock, Sludge, Swoop, Slug and Snarl. Episode characters are also implied to be Ratbat and Ramjet. The event is currently listed as running from 4 June to 11 June, but this might be subject to change.
Check out the temporary page here. |

With Mastermind Creations and Unique Toys both making unlicensed Predakings, does the world need a third not-Predaking? Well - a third one is coming, ready or not. TFC Toys throws their hat into the ring with their next combiner project after the completion of Uranos. Ares, named for the ancient Greek god of war, is their own version of Predaking, and today they have posted images of the first member of the set, a not-Razorclaw named Nemean. We have uncolored grey prototype images of Nemean in all three of his modes, robot, lion and gestalt body. You can check them out attached to this post.
(Fun fact - Nemean's name comes from the Nemean lion, a fearsome beast in Greek mythology which Hercules had to face as one of his twelve labors) |

Long before the licensed Camaros and Corvettes of the Transformers live action movie series, Hasbro was featuring real-life car designs in the Transformers line, with one of the very first being the Lamborghini, Sideswipe. Last year Takara-Tomy once again got the license to make a Lamborghini Sideswipe and thus Masterpiece Sideswipe, or Lambor as he is known in Japan, was born! The first of the "smaller scale" Masterpieces, Masterpiece Sideswipe does not fail to impress with the details or poseability, which both remain top notch as we have come to expect of the Masterpiece series.

Hisashi Yuki has tweeted an image of the upcoming Transformers Generations Ratbat and a flyer promoting Transformers Go's second combiner. Ratbat, thought to be based on his "senator" role in the pre-Earth parts of the IDW continuity, features a rich purple deco, although the lighting makes it hard to get a proper judge on him. He is stood on top of a flyer which will be distributed later this month to promote the new Transformers Go! line and its second combiner, the Ninja team, who have animal forms as opposed to the vehicle forms sported by the Samurai team.

Hollywood Reporter has some news on the filming of Transformers 4 - though not the kind you'd think! According to the article on Hollywood Reporter, parts of Transformers 4 will be filmed using Radiant Image's palm-sized Novo camera, which weighs in at just 3.2 ounces. The article linked above has some additional technical information on the camera and its capabilities - it's a far cry from the traditional depiction of large, stand mounted Hollywood cameras, although it can get closer to the action of a scene by virtue of its smaller size and lighter build.

Previously we saw the 15 second promo for next week’s episode of Transformers: Prime - Beast Hunters. Now it’s time to take a look at the 30 second promo for "Thirst" where "Knock Out and Starscream experiment with synthetic lead and threaten to take over the Decepticon ship and unleash an old enemy." Of course, as usual Megatron is not very pleased and initiates High Alert on this Decepticon-centric episode.
Special thanks to Generalbri of 2005 Boards for grabbing the Promo Video. |

Takara-Tomy have updated their Transformers Go! website with clear images of the toys of the three combined forms of the Samurai team. The Samurai, due out at the end of this month, can combine in three different formations for three different combiner modes based on which of the three forms the head and arms, torso and legs. The Ninja team, whose three members have a staggered release in July, August and September, are also shown with toy pictures of one of their three combined modes shown - the other two combined modes are blacked out silhouettes, to be unveiled later.
These images also finally confirm - by way of a close up of Gekisomaru's neck - that the Ninja team will be Autobots, not Decepticons as was once reported. Lastly the page banner has also updated showing Galaxy Force / Transformers Cybertron style CG models for the robots alongside traditional cel animated style humans. The humans are shown holding discs which resemble the Data Disk modes of the Fall of Cybertron Autobot and Decepticon minions for Soundwave and Blaster. Check out the updated page by opening this link! |

Concept artist Emiliano Santalucia has posted another concept work that he did for Hasbro during the development of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
"This time, we were exploring the concept of the Space Bridge. The idea make it to the movie, but it was executed in a completely different way. What is really interesting about this piece is that there is very little painted stuff in it. It was executed mostly as a collage. It was another learning experience, because mixing photos, real life elements and art is absolutely a common thing in movie concept work. I went on looking for various NASA bases and installations, I created the bridge out of temples churches and lot of other stuff, and finally, I used style guide pieces from the previous movies to create the millions of Decepticons crossing the bridge and attacking Earth." What do you think? Would you like this Space Bridge instead of what we saw on DOTM? |

Moving from one flashy red sports car released exclusively for the Japanese market to another, tonight's new gallery update is Transformers GT's Super GT Prime with his GT Sister partner Misaki. All four Transformers GT releases are based on the same mold - Alternity Convoy - and all four feature significant remolding to their alternate modes to give them the rally car design. As the "flagship" release in the new series, GT Prime is a real gem of a toy. He sports an incredible sharp deco with many sponsor details lovingly recreated and a true premium finish on his red painted elements. Everything about this toy screams that he's a proper high end release like the much-loved Binaltechs of old.
GT Prime like all Transformers GT releases comes with a "GT Sister" partner figure, a "race queen" in the vein of the partner figures that were bundled with the Binaltech Asterisk releases. In this case though they use the modern Microman body type, which means the GT Sisters are too large in comparison to the cars, but as a trade off gain the incredible poseability that Micromen are known for. GT Sister Misaki, who comes with GT Prime, sports a very nice shiny red finish on her clothes that goes well with Prime himself, as well as recreating the image of the kind of outfit a real life race queen might find herself wearing. She's a nice extra for the set, though the main event is of course GT Prime himself. Overall this is a very sharp looking set. Definitely one to check out if you are a fan of the Alternators and Binaltechs of old, and definitely one worth investing in if you like your Transformers high-end and shiny. Check out this gallery, provided for your enjoyment by TFW2005 Photo Staff member SydneyY, and see what you think of this new release. Transformers GT Super GT Prime with Misaki Gallery |

Courtesy of Transformers Live Action Movie Blog, we have with us some new Transformers 4 spy images from Pflugerville and Manor area (in Central Texas).
The images feature 2 buggy like Off-Road Vehicles black in color. According to the blog, the vehicles are not identical but similar. The site also states it is not clear whether the two cars will represent government vehicles or Decepticons (or they might just be Camera Cars). Update: 2005 Boards Members DrLee and Albershide identified the vehicles as Rally Fighters. Hopefully, Michael Bay’s Official Website might shed some light on the matter soon. |

News has reached us from the Twitter account of the 2D Comics Fest - the Northern Ireland Comics Festival held in Derry / Londonderry in Ireland over the past weekend that Simon Furman will be penning an additional issue of Transformers Regeneration 1, a special "issue zero" complete with five pages of art by Transformers art legend Geoff Senior!
Simon Furman announces @IDWPublishing #transformers regeneration one issue 0 on panel at #2dcomicsfest five pages of art by @geoffsenior Further information from the Transformers Regeneration 1 Facebook page suggests that this issue will take place and expand on scenes that will transpire in Regeneration 1 issue 94 - scenes and exposition that will echo throughout the rest of the series. Geoff will be doing 5 pages of a special Zero issue. There are more artists to be announced... It is a step sideways following some dramatic events of 94 with BIG implications for 95 and beyond... RG1 will still end at issue 100. And no, there is no Wildman art in this one but a host of amazing Trans art legends Click the discuss link below to talk about this story on our 2005 Boards! |

The companion pieces to Kabaya's Transformers Gum wave 7, Gaia Scramble, have been revealed. As speculated Gaia Scramble are the limbs for the three gestalt leaders in Wave 7 - however what has been revealed here is that Gaia Scramble will not be six limbs, but all twelve, with each kit including enough parts to be assembled into two different robots. They will all also come in two different colorations. The sets and pairings are as follows:
1 Fireflight and Skydive 2 Air Raid and Slingshot 3 Dead End and Breakdown 4 Drag Strip and Wildrider 5 Vortex and Blast Off 6 Brawl and Swindle It is an ingenious approach that utilizes the fact that many of the Scramble City limbs shared transformations. Cleverer still is that six may also form a combined mode all of their own, in addition to forming their traditional gestalt forms. This gestalt needs an Aerialbot and a Stunticon to form the core, but then any other four can form the arms and legs. This was revealed by way of online retailer Toy Santa. Their listing also reveals that the assortment is due for a release in August. |

Maketoys have posted on their website a pair of teaser images of another upcoming project with the tagline "an angel is coming". The images shown hint at an unlicensed Nova Prime / Nemesis Prime from the IDW comics. The project is already at a prototype stage, and the prototype images shown indicate that the figure will consist of a core robot plus armor. The armor is an extensively reworked version of the Maketoy Battle Tanker, the core figure is a complete new design to interact with the armor though.
The text accompanying the update indicates that it will be a limited run item available exclusively through Maketoy's own store, with more details to follow. The update also indicates that this release will be coming later this month. |
