Amazon now has Pre-Orders up and a trailer for Transformers: The Covenant of Primus; which gives us a brief look inside the book.
Book Description: The Covenant of Primus delves into the depths of Transformers mythology to reveal the backstory that’s previously only been hinted at. Encased in an interlocking Autobot emblem that when pulled open emits Transformer sounds, this tome is a gift to humans from Alpha Trion, one of the ancient Thirteen Primes—the first of the Transformers. Little is known about Alpha Trion, and the rest of the Thirteen Primes have been shrouded in mystery—until now. The Covenant of Primus reveals the stories of these ancient heroes for the first time. It chronicles the saga of Optimus Prime and Megatron and covers the full history of the Transformers. Never-before-seen illustrations depict battles, portraits of the Thirteen Primes, and detailed scenes of the Transformers’ world. Offering insight into their origins, the Golden Age of exploration, the great civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons, and much more, this book is the definitive in-world history of the Transformers. Looking forward to the upcoming Transformers Generations Hoist figure based on the IDW incarnation of Hoist? To ease the wait, here's some new images of a translucent test-shot courtesy of toyssir8982009! Compared to Trailbreaker(which Hoist is an extensive remold of), Hoist has what appears to be a new melee weapon.
Read on to check it out. |

We are now proudly sharing with you a gallery of the recently released Transformers Generations "Thrilling 30" Autobot triple-changer, Sandstorm! Sandstorm is a heavy remold of the previous wave's Springer, and we do mean "heavy remold" in every sense of the expression, thanks to a lot of remolded parts and a complete new backpack section with a new tailfin and the toy's signature VTOL fans. It is, quite possibly, the single most ambitions remold seen on a Transformers toy yet.
Sandstorm's three modes are all very well realized. VTOL Aircraft mode is a complete different mode from Springer's helicopter; the twin fans give the vehicle a unique look (plus, it's not the kind of alternate mode we often see on a Transformer, which is a plus). Dune Buggy mode makes use of those fans as huge rear wheels and the new tailfin gives the cab a bit of an armored look, which makes for an interesting car mode. Robot mode is the one that most closely resembles Springer - if you ignore the twin fans giving Sandstorm a rather impressive backpack. While nice looking, the fans do cause a few issues with stability - though to the designer's credit, Sandstorm can still hold most poses fairly easily. The tailfin officially sticks up, behind the head, in homage to how the Generation 1 toy was designed - but in a stroke of genius design, you can easily fold this part down into a more discrete backpack if you don't care for the choice. In short, everything about Sandstorm comes up trumps, with the sole negative point being the way the backpack makes it a little hard to balance the toy occasionally. The deco is well-realized and nicely homages the original, the vehicle modes are both fun and interesting, he feels like you're buying a new toy rather than a remolded Springer, and you get a fairly substantial Autobot for your money. To top it all off, he was designed by the awesome Transformers comics artist Nick Roche! Open the link below to check out our gallery: Generations Voyager Sandstorm Gallery |

The two full interactive walk-around characters from Universal Studios' Transformers the Ride arrived to advertise the "Summer of Survival" which is taking place at the park to promote Transformers the Ride. HobbyArk posted on Facebook that there will be some black deco versions of a couple Transformers Go! releases. They mention a Black Samurai Team for about $67 USD, and it will be a Toys R Us Japan exclusive. Along side that, there will be a Black Ninja Team exclusive to AEON Japan for the same price. And to round it out, a Black Beast Hunters Optimus Prime (Voyager) which is exclusive to Cybertron Satellite Shop for $51 USD. All are due in November.
No pictures as of now, stay tuned. |

This just in from Botcon 2013... Not 100% confirmed, but our very own Sol Fury is already at Botcon in San Diego, and he has seen the official shirt for this years show. The shirt features Megaplex and Skywarp from the set, along with Thundercracker and Starscream redecos from the HftD Terradive mold.
Whether these guys get released as the show exclusives isn't known for sure, but it's a pretty safe bet. Stay tuned through the weekend for breaking Transformers news and images! |

Youtube user Mendenhall512 posted a video showing his 1965 and 1969 GTOs being loaded onto a Paramount Pictures flatbed truck. In the description he states that Paramount is renting them for Transformers 4, and that they will be used as Mark Wahlberg's personal cars throughout the movie. If true, they go along with the vintage 67 Camaro Stealth Bumblebee, so it seems we have a mix of new and old rides shaping up for 2014. There is also the possibility these are just being used in set pieces as several on the forums suggested, so only time will tell.

Thanks to the TFCC and Tempting Toys for letting us know that the Botcon 2013 customizing class figure is a Blastcharge Strika Clone. The figure is based off of the Generations Warpath mold, which is being used for the set's Strika figure. It sports a yellow and orange camo deco giving homage to Beast Machines Blastcharge. UPDATE: Tempting Toys let's us know that they've given everyone in the class a raffle ticket. It gives you a chance to win something at the end which has yet to be revealed. Stay tuned |

A video on Youtube shows a convention goer at the Tokyo Toy Fair discussing Metroplex with what looks to be a representative of Takara Tomy. While overall it's just a basic video where we get to see the Japanese Metroplex deco in action, one thing stood out. While describing the Japanese version, highlighting the paint applications and two guns - the Takara Tomy representative stated that it was "same as the comic con version".
Could this be the reason Hasbro has been holding out revealing a Transformers only SDCC exclusive? Will we get confirmation this weekend at Botcon? Stay tuned! |

Entertainment Earth released a new look at upcoming Generations IDW Cover deluxes. Included here are shots of the figures and the comic cover it will come with. The pic is a bit small, but you can get a feel for what they will look like at retail as opposed to their hand painted versions from Toy Fair. Included are Orion Pax, Megatron, Trailcutter (Trailbreaker) and Bumblebee in their updated alt forms.

We got this one in right before leaving for Botcon 2013, and we couldn't wait to share! TFW2005 is happy to present a detailed gallery of the Transformers Collectors Club Subscription Service RID Scourge. The first of the subscription figures to ship, RID Scourge is a repaint of Reveal The Shield G2 Prime. The original Scourge from Robots In Disguise (2000/2001) was a repaint of the original G2 Laser Optimus Prime. So it was a natural fit, and one I personally, and many of the fans have been asking for since the original RtS Prime was released.
The club figure features a very Scourge-like deco, mixing up the Japanese Black Convoy upside down G2 Symbol on the door and the red windows from the US Scourge release (the Japanese one had pink plastic). The sword, depending on the light, can be pink or red, further tying that all up. Check out some key shots attached to this story, and view the entire gallery here: TFCC RID Scourge Gallery. And if you want to refresh your memory on the forgotten era of Transformers, check out our side project over at RIDForever.info. |

This may not be a huge news, but Chinese Officials (for the movie) have made some statements regarding what sort of filming that will take place in China for Transformers 4. These statements come in light of the recent rumors of popular Chinese buildings being destroyed on screen. However, officials made sure to dismiss the rumors immediately. Speaking to entertainment website Coming Soon, Marc Ganis; president of production company Jiaflix Enterprises said, "The film has a great deal to do with China. Effectively, China is a character in it."
"So much of the movie takes place in China and the character [Li Bingbing] plays is a Chinese national. So it's a very natural position for her to have." he added. Perhaps this statement might have been made because of all the negative criticism Iron Man 3 received for shoehorning China in; which resulted negative feedback even from the Chinese viewers. |
