TakaraTomy updated their YouTube channel earlier today with the Transformers GO! opening theme. The video shows off some awesome transformation sequences of both the combiner teams and individual robots. There's two versions of the opening theme included, presumably one for the Samurai chapters and one for the Shinobi chapters.
Check out the full video after the break. |

Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have tipped us off to a second set of iGear Con Air Raptor Squadron releases. This set of Attack, Elegy and Jet - or Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet - is based on the iGear F-22 Raptor design, reworked to include the traditional design features of the second set of conehead seekers. Each is advertised as coming with stands, long missiles and extra heads.
In other third party news, Big Bad Toy Store is also now stocking the Planet X Caelus unofficial Fall of Cybertron Swoop. |

The third of the Transformers Figure Subscription Service figures to be released to date is Circuit. Circuit is a homage to a 1991 Generation 1.5 Action Master toy. Like the original Circuit, this new Circuit is a redeco of the Decepticon Axor - this time out, the Hunt for the Decepticons Axor.
If there is one thing about Circuit which immediately leaps out, it is the bright and "loud" color scheme. He's primarily yellow with a vibrant crimson, orange and blue - and yes, this is all accurate to the original Circuit's deco! In fact, it is very impressive how well the Transformers Collectors Club managed to make this a true homage to the original's deco as well as making what was originally a non-transforming robot into a full Transformer without compromising the style of the deco in either mode. Ultimately this is one of those toys that will be either a love or a hate for fans. The use of the Movie series mold and the insanely bright deco means that you'll either love this one or dislike it - this fan falls into the love camp, and chances are if you like homages to that later era of Generation 1 toys where the decos were bright and unashamedly crazy, then this Circuit will be for you. Check out the gallery at the link below and see for yourself. Transformers Figure Subscription Service Circuit Gallery |

Here is something extraordinarily cool. During Beast Machines' second season, you might remember that Megatron had a gigantic flying fortress modeled after his head - the Grand Mal. You might also be aware that a toy was designed for the Battle for the Spark subline of Beast Machines toys, which was canceled from that line and ultimately released in the following Robots in Disguise line. You might also remember that toy being rather unlike the depiction of the Grand Mal from the series, featuring spider legs not featured in the show.
What we have here to share with you now by way of the Robot Points blog is a previously never-before-seen prototype of Megabolt Megatron - one which follows the on-screen design of the megahead fortress much more closely. The design of the alternate head form lacks the spider legs, and features the thrusters at the rear as on the original design. As with the release version, the toy transforms into a robot mode, this one with clear chest panels showing off moving gears. What is shown in this blog post is a resin prototype, and it is believed that this concept never progressed beyond this point. It is thought that the design was overhauled into the one that was released to maximise playability with the spider legs, and perhaps also because the gears in the chest were too expensive to implement. Check out the full story on the Robot Points blog and take a look at this rare piece of unreleased Transformers merchandise. |

September's Takara-Tomy releases have begun in earnest with the release of Transformers GT Maximus in Japan. GT Maximus is the fourth and so far final release in the Transformers GT series, as with the other three he's an Alternity Convoy remold featuring a unique head. He's also packed with a Race Queen like the rest of the Transformers GT series. Check out some in-package images by way of this Yahoo Japan auction.

For the Transformers Go! series, Takara-Tomy released the four non-show Predacons remolded and with new heads for the Japanese market. These four, Gaidora, Bakudora, Budora and Judora, are collectively known as the Predacon Four Oni, referencing the Japanese superstition that the number four is unlucky. Each of the four features new robot mode heads and sharp new decos with metallic finishes on some parts.
We've got a nice look of three of the four here for you today courtesy of our photo staff member SydneyY! Gaidora is a reuse of the Lazerback mold, looking very sharp with a metallic green-blue hide. Bakudora is a metallic blue version of Ripclaw, arguably enhanced by the fact that the head can now be turned to look to the side. The leader of the Four Oni is Budora, a striking red black and gold version of Grimwing who features new molding on both his robot mode head and his beast mode head. Overall the new decos and new molding takes what were already some good toys and really brings out the best in them. These are probably the best versions of the molds available - check out SydneyY's photos and see for yourself: Transformers Go! Gaidora Gallery Transformers Go! Bakudora Gallery Transformers Go! Alfes2000 has shared some in-hand images of the third and final member of the Transformers Go! Shinobi team member Sensuimaru on his Twitter and on his blog. Sensuimaru is a mechanical shark ninja, and with Gekisomaru and Hishomaru who have been released over the last two months can combine into three different large robots, Gogekiso, Gohisho, and Gosensui, based on who forms the upper body. Alfes has also shared some images of these combined forms - together the trio forms an excellent accompaniment to June's Samurai team.

Shogo Hasui has tweeted a pair of images showing off the next release in the Masterpiece line alongside the original Generation 1 toy. Check out these images showing Masterpiece Prowl - due out this month! - next to the original Generation 1 Prowl. As you can see, Masterpiece Prowl is looking like a very nice modern update of the original Generation 1 Prowl. Get excited, because he'll be out very soon, with Masterpiece Streak and Masterpiece Smokescreen following in October and December respectively.

There weren't any Transformers: Age Of Extinction News for an entire week. Things were all quiet. But some interesting discoveries broke the silence and time to open floodgates to speculate who this new robot is.
Yes, Flickr member cmarseye is sharing with us some set photos featuring a Clapperboard Robot and some rough CGI from Michael Bay’s Laptop. There is no idea as to who this new Cybertronian is, but he seems to have headlights on his chest and claws/paws on his shoulder. As for the CGI on Michael Bay’s screen, our member fathi_haziq has managed to clean up the photo a bit and is giving us a good look of a massive "something" in the middle of the road (use the vehicle on the photo to get a good size comparison). As our members point out, whatever in the middle seems to have a Triceratops head. To put fuel to the fire, member tonyformer has marked 5 Dinosaurs on the CGI. Check it out at the thread associated with this news post. What do you think? Are these the Dinobots? |

Amazon.com has also updated their listings for the next assortment of Transformers Generations releases! Generations IDW Comics Pack-In Wave 3 adds Autobot Skids, Dreadwing, Waspinator and Goldfire (aka Goldbug, an upgraded and rebuilt Bumblebee!) into the mix. These listings include new, non-photoshopped images of the four toys, and also include their bios. What is particularly pleasing is that Waspinator's packaging sports the Predacon logo with his bio referencing Beast Wars, and Dreadwing has the Generation 2 Decepticon logo on his packaging, in reference to the toy who he is homaging! Check out the new images after the break, and the bios reproduced below:
Goldfire His new armor may be resistant to the laser fire of the Decepticons, but beneath it, Goldfire is the same robot he’s always been. Once known as Bumblebee, he had the chance to lead Cybertron to a new golden age, but now it looks like that chance has passed. With all that he’s built seemingly collapsing around him, all Goldfire can do is keep fighting to save all that he can. Autobot Skids With no memory of his life before a few cycles ago, Autobot Skids finds himself with a rare opportunity. Not knowing who he is allows him to be anything he wants to be, and the firepower of his mysterious new blaster gives him the strength to follow through on any adventure he pursues. Waspinator Finding himself in a world thousands of years distant from the one he once knew, Waspinator did the only thing he could – found someone strong and put himself under their command. Sure, he’s being manipulated. And sure, he’s getting blown to pieces just as regularly as he used to. But at least the guy he’s working for now knows how to put him back together properly. Dreadwing Dreadwing long ago devoted all of the vast power at his command to the service of the Decepticons. So when Shockwave tells him about a critical experiment that will secure victory for the Decepticons once and for all, he follows without question – never suspecting the doom that awaits him. |

With the fourth figure in the Transformers Figure Subscription Service arriving in mailboxes now, let's backtrack and take a look at the second release in the Figure Subscription Service - Slipstream! Slipstream, also known as la femme Starscream or Susan, originated as a female Starscream clone in Transformers Animated and has since been established as a member of the Aligned Continuity by the Transformers Exiles novel by Alex Irvine. That is what this version of Slipstream represents - and appropriately, she uses a Transformers Prime Starscream mold as her base.
Slipstream as noted uses the First Edition Starscream mold. She's a retool meaning she got a new head, which makes her stand out a bit from the other versions of the First Edition Starscream mold. Her deco is excellent and spot on to the character's Transformers Animated roots. It's an unusual choice of colors rarely seen outside of the likes of Generation 2 Ramjet, but Slipstream rocks the deco without looking overly gawdy. Her poseability is excellent, though given the small footprint of her feet she does sometimes have trouble balancing, but not nearly as much as you might expect from looking at her feet. Overall Slipstream is a fun addition to the collection, and a fantastic reuse of a great mold. Check out our gallery and see what you think: Transformers Figure Subscription Service Slipstream Gallery |
