Comic book website Bleeding Cool has announced some potentially very good news for collectors - they're reporting that this week, for the first time, Hasbro is making individual figures available to the direct market and Diamond. This could mean many things: if this goes to plan, it would be easier to acquire figures at your local comic book shop, because instead of having to always order a case, they could simply as many as they want of an individual character - which could perhaps also bode well for the media side as well, as healthy toy sales in many cases translates to the accompanying fiction as well. It may also mean the end of having to pay more for certain figures online. And last but not least, it should make army builders' lives a little bit easier.
This may be a smart business decision for Hasbro, making the more popular toys easier to acquire like this. It could also coincide with their increased emphasis on collectors that they displayed at Toy Fair this year. It should be noted that, for right now, this is only limited to the direct market and Diamond, and not big box retailers... at least, not yet. Hasbro could be testing the waters by doing this. Hopefully this plan is successful and works out well for Hasbro, so this idea can further flourish. Check it out and discuss after the jump! (Pictured: Transformers: Prime Robots in Disguise Deluxe Vehicon, a once-notoriously shortpacked and hard-to-find army builder.) |

The Transformers Columbia Facebook page has once again revealed some new products to us, and this time, it's Construct-Bots Dino Riders Galvatron and... well, we're not sure if this could potentially be a spoiler for the movie (though it may very well just be a toy-only thing), so we'll tag it just in case: Starscream!
Check it out after the jump. |

Thanks to 2005 Boards member daimchoc, we have our first look at the first offering from a new third party called Omnigonix: a Masterpiece scaled homage to Sunstreaker, called Spinout!
The design is apparently in the final stages, although the head sculpt is not yet complete, and there will be some kind of options to alter the accuracy of the homage to cartoon, toy, or comic. What do you think about this new offering? Sound off on the boards by hitting the discuss link! UPDATE: We now also have a look at the vehicle mode as well, looking spot on to Sunstreaker's modified Lamborghini design. Hit the jump to see the new pic! |

While the previously reported Amazon Japan listing for MP-20 Masterpiece Wheeljack showed us some official photos, the listing has been updated yet again with even more photos. Some of these have been seen in the Dengeki Hobby May 2014 magazine scan as smaller images, so now we get to view those up close. Mirrored here are the photos from the Amazon listing. Notably, we have a closer look at the launcher that Hasui-san showed us before. We also get a scale comparison shot with MP-10 Masterpiece Convoy. Also shown again is the anti-hypnosis device that's exclusive to the Amazon Japan orders.

If we call this "The Best Transformers Movie Promo Video… EVER!" that would be an understatement. This little video from Hasbro Kre-O will put all other Transformers: Age Of Extinction movie trailers to shame.

Detroit News is reporting that General Motors' Top Designer Edward T. Welburn will make a cameo appearance in Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
In a film clip shown to media on Thursday, the generally calm Welburn, appearing to be angry, points to the film’s star Mark Wahlberg and speaks the lines, “My office in 15 minutes. I think you know where that is.” Bumblebee was also mentioned: The leaner and meaner Camaro in the film originally was sketched by Jelani Aliyu, senior creative designer for the Camaro. Its base was a Camaro SS but it was modified in many spots. Aliyu said his sketch is close to the finished vehicle, or character as he sees it. He said he had to “give it a soul,” and the Camaro features a new face and “eyes.” He gave it a wider track and bigger tires. |

Third movie clip from Transformers: Age Of Extinction is out now. The clip features Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) having a conversation (more like an argument) about his recent purchase, with his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz) and his "business partner" Lucas (T. J. Miller).

GAC MOTOR, an automotive brand owned by Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) has issued a Press Release to give a detailed description regarding their involvement with Michael Bay's Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
"Several models of the GAC MOTOR, an automotive brand owned by Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC), made their appearance in the sci-fi film, highlighting the brand's cool and fashionable look: the avant-garde E-jet concept car, driven by the world's richest man, projects a powerful and heady aura; the black, sedate GAC MOTOR GA5, as representative of the Chinese government and military, has aroused enormous interest; the white and light-footed GAC MOTOR GA5 is the vehicle of choice for starring Chinese actress Li Bingbing, who, together with the world's richest man, is filmed in a car race with several of the world's other renowned luxury cars. The excellent sense of road control when at the wheel of the GAC MOTOR GA5 enables the two starring actors to escape while being chased by the Decepticons and arrive in Hong Kong safely. "We chose to be partner with Transformers 4 as GAC MOTOR and Transformers share the same definition of heroism and sense of culture by emphasizing justice, power, fortitude and wisdom, and more importantly, GAC wants to bring China's high-quality models to the world through an internationally acclaimed movie, providing overseas buyers with an insight into products with uniquely Chinese characteristics," Wu Song, general manager of GAC MOTOR, commented on their strategic goal of brand enhancement and overseas expansion at the debut ceremony." We are only a week away from the release of Transformers: Age Of Extinction and already, the big guys at Hasbro and Paramount are discussing the possible future of the Transformers Live Action Movie Franchise.
First to speak was Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures Rob Moore, correcting a statement by Paramount Pictures Senior Vice President Edward Ryan and mentioning that Transformers 5 will release on 2017 (as originally planned) instead of 2016. Next to speak was Transformers: Age of Extinction producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who said that Transformers 4 may not be a start of a new Trilogy. ""We're not planning on doing a trilogy," he told Roth. "We're not not planning on doing a trilogy. It's really a one-movie-at-a-time philosophy. It feels a little arrogant. Both [director Michael Bay] and I feel like it's a little arrogant of us to presume success each time. We know our fans are really out there and they're going to come, so we presume a certain amount of success. But all the energy will be thrown into the next movie, if we're lucky enough to get there." Of course, a lot of studios have been angling their respective franchises for spinoffs -- Disney's Star Wars, for example, or Sony's Spider-Man, Fox's X-Men, etcetera. However, while di Bonaventura and crew have talked about going that route with Transformers, that may not necessarily be the case for future installments, at least for now. "I think one of the things that people underestimate about the Transformers mythology is how rich it is," he continued. "If you actually look at the bible, if you would, there is an enormous number of characters; there's a helluva lot of storylines, etcetera. Honestly, there's been no discussion of it because we've been in the business of making it bigger and bigger. I think a lot of those spinoffs tend to happen when something's plateaued. We're not at that place yet, hopefully. We're going to find out with the audience."" |

Official Transformers Facebook Page has been updated with images and videos from the World Premiere of Transformers: Age Of Extinction in Hong Kong.
Michael Bay said he didn’t hurt Hong Kong “too much,” then giddily turned toward the skyline to point out the CGI damage he did to the city: “I totally destroyed that, I destroyed that, and I hurt the Bank of China a little bit…” The official Wrap-Up video is below, and you will find the Imagine Dragons Concert video and images mirrored from the official album, after the jump. |
