The Business Journal reported a post, saying that the producers of the third installment of the "Transformers" movie franchise (Transformers 3)will be filming scenes in Milwaukee and are looking for "executive types" to serve as paid extras in the movie.
Hollywood director Michael Bay plans to use the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Tower Automotive site as locations for the shoot July 12-13, said Dave Fantle, vice president of public relations for Visit Milwaukee, the local convention and visitors bureau. A casting call for paid extras will be held June 26 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center in the Wright Ballroom. According to a press release, producers are seeking female and male "trendy executive types" and are asking prospects to "look their executive best." |

Higekumatoytoy Blog has posted Japanese language reviews of the Autobot Junior Officers, Jetfire and Jetstorm, as well as their combined form Safeguard. Unlike their US release, this pair are available both as a set (boxed set "G") and as individual carded releases. Their main differences from their US versions are shiny finishes on their chest and leg parts. Check out the reviews by clicking on the links above, or our choice of the best images by clicking on the title of this story. Jetfire and Jetstorm, along with Thundercracker, Skywarp, Soundblaster and the Safeguard two pack, are a part of the latest wave of Animated toys to be released in Japan by Takara-Tomy and are due to hit retail any day now.

TFW2005 Board Member Cyclonus86 brought us some images from a set of Transformers 3.
It seems as though the Ferrari 458 Italia Autobot will be working alongside the “new” Bumblebee. Hopefully, the red Ferrari will have some good screen-time. Also got an image of Optimus Prime’s vehicle mode. Here’s your chance to spot the “differences”. Hit the Title Bar or the Image to take a look at the additional Images. |

Hasbro has updated their site today with a little bit of news. It seems as though they are reporting that Masterpiece Grimlock will be available on American Toys R US shelves on July 1st.
Please note that this contradicts previous reports of Grimlock launching at San Diego Comic Con and then becoming a Toys R US exclusive thereafter. |

Higekumatoytoy Blog has updated again, this time with a look at Takara-Tomy's Animated Soundblaster! This color scheme, which was featured in the US on the Deluxe class Electrostatic Soundwave, is only going to be available to the Japanese market (and those of you who import via online stores, such as our sponsors). As the name suggests, it's a homage to Generation 1 Soundblaster from the Headmasters series. The toy itself is a redeco of the Animated Activators Soundwave. Check out the images by clicking on the link above.

Jim Sorenson has posted up a few sketches that did not make the cut for the Transformers Animated Allspark Almanac Volume 2 on his blog, Disciples of Boltax. The two images show a collection of cool concepts and other pieces of artwork that never made it into the series and unfortunately will not make it into the book either. The images include a sketch of the Japanese parable of the lion and the mouse (featuring Victory Leo and Packrat), a few unused background details from the episode "This is why I Hate Machines" including a Cybertronian artist's rendition of Captain Fanzone, plus a few character models that never got used - head models for a Generation 1 toy style Jetfire and Mirage, plus full color full body models for Kup and Wheelie! Please note that these character models were not designed by Derrick Wyatt and do not represent his vision for the Animated versions of the characters. Possibly the coolest of all the sketches though is Kremzeek dressed as a homage to the character Poochie from The Simpsons! Check out the full story by clicking on the link above.

Looks like it's not Bumblebee who's getting his top off. Thanks to YouTube user nando323, we now have a confirmation on the new model design of Corvette Stingray (Vehicle mode of movie Sideswipe). The "new" Convertible Sideswipe was spotted during a Transformers 3 filming in L.A, alongside his Autobot buddies; Bumblebee and the Ferrari 458 Italia. Hasbro will be happy. Since Mattel took the rights to manufacture toys based on the regular Stingray (which explains why we are getting Aston Martin DB9 shaped Sideswipe RPMs and Lotus Elise shaped Deluxe Sidearm Sideswipes), Hasbro now can own the rights to deliver toys based on the new model.

KOtoys has posted another Hunt for the Decepticons Scout toy gallery. This time it is Insecticon. Insecticon is loosely modeled on the tiny insects sent to search for Sam during the finale of Revenge of the Fallen. He is due to be released in the second wave of hunt for the Decepticons Scouts alongside Breacher and Oil Pan. Check out our mirror of the images by clicking on the title of this story.

We've got some mockups of a couple of new HeadRobots that are on the way named Gyro and Blood. We are being told that both come in the same pack, and that they are much more than just new heads.
Blood appears to be a new Bludgeon head, while Gyro looks very much like Whirl. Prototype hardcopy pictures will be coming sometime after BotCon, so stay tuned! |

Over a week ago we asked what system you were going with for the highly anticipated release of Transformers: War for Cybertron. The results were astonishing, as we amassed over 600 votes on the very first day of voting! Thank you for taking part in our community spotlight! So without any further waiting, here are the results!
For most of the voting period, the Microsoft X-Box 360 and the Sony Playstation 3 were neck-and-neck, only differing by a small handful of votes. But as time went by, the X-Box Live faithful slowly added to their lead, allowing them to take first place in the system of choice with 324 votes (39.71%). The Playstation 3 ended in second place, with 293 votes (35.91%). Being the lucky owner of both systems, I can only assume that the favor went to the X-Box 360 simply for the multiplayer interface with the X-Box Live software, making it easier to find your friends and start blowing up Transformers. The biggest surprise was the PC version in third place, or 90 votes (11.03%). After that, 46 of you (5.64%) want to get it for multiple systems. Not far behind was the family-friendly version, Cybertron Adventures for the Wii with 36 votes (4.41%). And laughably, 15 people don't want the game at all (1.84%) over getting the game on the DS (12 at 1.47%. starscream-99 is going to get the game on the Playstation 3, as he refuses to pay the online fee for the X-Box Live version. ShafikLight, who registered just to participate, is going to get it for the X-Box 360 because he knows he'll have a better online experience with a lot his online friends. And finally, OPMEGS1.0 thinks it'll be great on all systems, because it's TRANSFORMERS! Thanks to everyone who participated in our second Sound-Off! Keep your browsers on TFW2005 after BotCon 2010 for our next Sound-Off! debate! Transformers - War For Cybertron will be released Tuesday, June 22nd at all major video game retailers. Unless you went to Sears and bought it over the weekend. |

The-Arker.com has posted the In Package images of Voyager Class Battle Blades Optimus Prime.
From the bio of the figure, we can see that this voyager toy shares a storyarc with the Voyager Class Banzaitron. Bio of Voyager Class Battle Blades Optimus Prime... "OPTIMUS PRIME isn't famous for being a particularly skilled fighter - he relies mostly on raw power to secure victory. Unfortunately for DECEPTICON BANZAITRON, all that raw power actually masks decades of training. OPTIMUS PRIME is one of the most accomplished fighters ever produced by CYBERTRON. He may not be as flashy as the DECEPTICON martial arts master, but he's got more than enough skill to crush DECEPTICON BANZAITRON." We can imagine how this Optimus vs. Banzaitron battle ended... "Give me your face!!!". To take a look at the In Package Images, click on the Image or on the Title Bar of this news article. |
