Good news, everyone! The new Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Voyagers have arrived at US retail! This first assortment includes Silverbolt and the big bot himself, Optimus Prime. They both feature the ability to transform into the core body of a larger combined super-warrior, wearing the Deluxe toys as limbs.
These are awesome toys - be sure to check them out should you get chance to! This sighting comes to you courtesy of TFW2005 member Daimao, who found these in a Target in Norfolk, VA. Happy hunting, everyone! |

Takara-Tomy's Hisashi Yuki has shared a bunch of new images of the Takara-Tomy Japanese release versions of Brainstorm, Swerve and Tailgate in the Japanese Transformers Legends line. Compared to the Hasbro Generations releases, all three feature paint schemes that skew closer to the original toys they are based on.
And for those who have these already, you win a bonus look at these new toys side-by-side with the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber for a size comparison. |

It's time for another installment in our series of gallery updates focusing on the new Combiner Wars line! Our latest addition is Alpha Bravo - the new member of the Aerialbot team.
Alpha Bravo is a fairly heavily armed looking military helicopter - and one that can become even more heavily armed with the addition of his weapons. His robot mode and his deco are inspired by Generation 1 Aerialbot Slingshot, whose position he takes on the team. In spite of the different alternate mode, he fits in well with the other Aerialbots. His poseability is good, though his hips tend to catch on his torso in some positions. His transformation is very similar to Firefly and Skydive - only without wings, his arms are just left by his sides. They disguise well, though. Overall, Alpha Bravo is a fun addition to the lineup of the new Aerialbots. He's a bold statement that Hasbro is willing to mix things up and not just slavishly update the original Generation 1 toys. And above all else, he looks great! Check out our gallery and see for yourself: Generations Combiner Wars Alpha Bravo Gallery |

2014 has come and gone, and what a glorious year it has been. The Thrilling 30th year of Transformers has seen a fourth live-action Transformers movie with more POW and kaboom than Warpath’s vocabulary, while the comics have continued to impress with ongoing series and miniseries which are all united by being some of the best written and most fun Transformers comics we have ever enjoyed. The toyline continues onward, of course, with Hasbro adopting an overtly “something for everyone” approach with the introduction of One Step Changers and Power Battlers alongside the traditional larger Generations toys.
Meanwhile in the fandom, Botcon celebrated its 20th year, and TFcon expanded into the US with TFcon Chicago… |

It seems to be a tradition now, any new Transformers movie is followed by a series of nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards, aka the Razzies. Movieweb reports that Transformers Age of Extinction has been nominated in several categories, including Worst Picture, Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Combo (for which it says "any two humans / robots"), Worst Director, and surprisingly, Kelsey Grammer gets a nomination for Worst Supporting Actor. Sophia Myles rounds off the list with a nomination for Worst Supporting Actress.
Do you feel these nominations are justified? Do you feel a strong sense of deja vu toward the grand majority of these nominations? Share your thoughts in the discussion thread. |

Michael Bay's web page was recently updated with a behind the scenes video of how he makes all of those actions shots he's so well known for. If you've ever wondered what's going on in Bay's head as he creates those massive explosions, here's your chance for a small taste of that! Check is out below.

The SDCC 2014 Dinobots set was a mix of new and old, giving us the Age of Extinction Dinobots in G1 colors along with a kick ass pop-up-book like Ark. There was only one problem, we only got 4 of the 5 original Dinobots. Not soon after, they announced that the 5th member of the team, Slog (aka Sludge) would be getting a matching paint job and be released separately through Amazon. He went up for pre-order pretty soon after that announcement, and he is now finally shipping 5 months later.
We've done up a gallery of Slog in action along with his SDCC brothers. Read on to check some key shots; you can view the entire gallery here: TFW2005's Age of Extinction G1 Slog Gallery If you'd like to complete your set, you can grab your own over at Amazon.com - they still have some in stock: Transformers Generation 1 Voyager Class Slog Action Figure. |

Apple's iTunes has uploaded a three page preview of IDW's Transformers #37. Issue #37's preview is really only two pages of the comic - the first page is a recap - but what follows is the very harbinger that something awesome is about to happen.
THE ONYX PROTOCOL! As PROWL confronts SPIKE over the human’s betrayal, the mystery of G.B. Blackrock and the Onyx Interface deepens. Meanwhile, Tokyo becomes a battleground as Arcee faces the Constructicons… and Galvatron! Transformers #37 is scheduled to be released next Wednesday, 14 January. Be sure to check it out when it hits stores! |

Via Japanese retailer Red Mercury, we have a look at the upcoming Robots in Disguise Kre-O sets in package. The packaged images of the sets are much in line with past Age of Extinction Kre-O offerings, with a large battle scene adorning the front of the boxes, with artwork of the "main" Kreon in the set to the right. Here for you are in box images of the first five sets - Bumblebee Disc Demolisher, Sideswipe Roadway Rundown, Underbite Jetpack Takedown, Strongarm Capture Cruiser and the Optimus Prime Beast Blaster

Hasbro.com has uploaded seven new video clips from the new Robots In Disguise cartoon. That's right, seven! The videos include some great dialogue and action scenes between the Autobot and Decepticon casts (if you're trying to be completely surprised for this new show, skip the videos just to be safe). The clips include the following:

Warbotron has updated their Facebook with images of one of their next unofficial Technobots. The as-yet unnamed WB-03C is a take on the Technobot Nosecone, who transforms into a drill tank. The robot mode seems a fairly faithful take on Nosecone, and there seems to be a weapon concealed within the drillbit. The drill tank mode may be one that divides opinion - unlike the original Nosecone, whose drill was flat against the front of the tank, this Warbotron Nosecone has the drill on an arm which can be angled - arguably more of a realistic approach to the design, though a departure from the classic Generation 1 design we know and love.

Coming way via the Weibo account of third party group Mega Steel, we have brand new colored test shot images of their Granville figure, inspired by the Decepticon leader Megatron. These new images show off the figure in Megatron's recognizable grey and black color scheme, as well as some minor changes including the chest detailing that has been removed from the prototype we saw images of earlier. No pricing or release date information is available at this time, but the project seems to be closing in on completion.

The Hasbro Transformers website has now fully updated to reflect the new show that is coming our way in February, Robots in Disguise! The site now features video clips (reported earlier), a section to talk about the characters complete with one-line bios, a toys section (including a dedicated Combiner Wars section with some sweet Superion artwork), and last but not least, a Comic Creator.
The Comic Creator is an interesting one - it's basic, but it gives a look at some different stock art of the various characters. The way text is handled is by selecting quotes from a list. Some of the quotes seem suitably ominous - "I sense the Allspark is near" being a big one. "Citizens of the human-hive, prepare for destruction" is another. If these two lines are actually in the series, and not just something Hasbro made up for this, there's some interesting things ahead. On the toys front, there is not much in the way of new reveals - except - on the images linking to the Hero Mashers sections, you can see a glimpse of the Robots in Disguise Hero Mashers Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Steeljaw. Be sure to check out the new-look Transformers.com |

Zap2it has updated with details of the next four episodes of Tranformers Rescue Bots. There are no air dates as yet - common thought is these will be airing in February on Discovery Family Channel - but we have the titles and the one-line descriptions of what each of these new installments of Transformers fun is all about.
Season 3, episode 11 - Did You See What I Thaw?: The Bots discover a caveman preserved in ice and attempt to help him adjust to modern life. S3 E12 - The Attack of Humungado: Monsters from Kade's favorite movie materialize; it's up to the Dino Bots to corral the Kaiju. S3 E13 - Thieves Like Us: The Bots must contend with thieving miniature souvenir replicas of themselves. S3 E14 - Time After Time: A renovated clock tower causes Cody to relive the same morning over and over. |

The Combiner Wars have arrived this week, and Seth Buzzard & Vangelus want to talk about it. It's a meaty plastic Transformers sandwich, with a top slice of movies and a bottom wedge of $9.99.

Just in are new images of TakaraTomy's upcoming Masterpiece G2 Bumblebee and the leader class Legends Megatron. The battle mask previously exclusive to Amazon will come with this new version of Bumblebee. In addition the figure is painted in gold as an homage to the original G2 figure. Swappable faces are still included. A jetpack is included in lieu of Exosuit Daniel.
Legends Megatron doesn't seem to be that much different(deco-wise) compared to Hasbro's Generations Leader Megatron. Images are from the Planet Iacon Facebook page. Read on to see both images. |

Via Hisashi Yuki on Twitter, we have some new images of Takara-Tomy's Transformers Legends versions of the Generations Swerve and Tailgate figures. These new images show the pair in their box, along with some nice comparison images with the generation 1 toys, demonstrating the pains Takara-Tomy has gone to in order to color-match these with the originals. Check out the new images attached to this post.
