IDW have sent out their solicits for July 2015. July is set to bring us lots of great new books, including the debut of a comic based on the new Robots in Disguise animated series! This book joins the ongoing Transformers, More than Meets the Eye, and Windblade titles.
This month also features a Combiner Wars epilogue issue, titled Combiner Hunters. As well as being the issue where the Fan-Built Combiner will make their debut in the IDW universe, the cover art shows us Chromia, Windblade, and Arcee, all in alternate designs to their usual decos - could these three be hints at some possible upcoming toys? Check out the solicits after the break, with the respective covers attached to this post. |

It was announced recently that Transformers 5 is planned for 2017. Many have been wondering who would be directing, as it was confirmed last year that Michael Bay would not be directing Transformers 5. However, things change and money talks.
Deadline has reported that Michael Bay is hard at work developing Transformers 5. NOTE: This could mean he is just producing the movie, not directing it; he did the same thing last year for the Ninja Turtles movie. So while it's easy to assume that Bay is directing Transformers 5(given the context of the article), it may be too early to know(it's not outright stated that he's the director). At CinemaCon, Paramount's Vice President Rob Moore let out what Bay was working on: He also promised the theater owners that Michael Bay was hard at work developing a fifth Transformers movie since the first four have made an astounding $3.7 worldwide, music to the ears of this crowd which is ALL about box office. But first Bay is directing Thirteen Hours, a war movie set around a daring rescue mission in Benghazi that is already set for release on Martin Luther King weekend next January. It was previously reported that Bay would direct 13 Hours instead of Transformers 5. Stay tuned to our Transformers News for further updates! |

Via Taghobby, Masterpiece MP-26 has been revealed as Roadrage, a remold of the upcoming MP-25 Tracks. She looks to have a different head sculpt, but no word on what other differences this mold has as compared to MP-25.
I'm sure the specifics of Roadrage release date will be coming shortly as well as any other accessories that will be included with the figure. TFW2005 will keep you updated as new info comes out! For now, sound off after the jump! |

Also via Taghobby we have our first look at Transformers Adventure Lockdown. This reworked version of Transformers Animated Lockdown is looking sharp in a deco inspired by Movie Lockdown. You can also glimpse the Adventure version of Bombshell in this image, which is a scan from Figure King 207. Check out the image at left.

On the Talk Transformers Facebook page we have some images of the upcoming Hasbro Masterpiece MP-06 Bluestreak release.
It shouldn't be to much longer before this guy will start showing up in your local TRU store. This looks to be the same figure Takara released as MP-18. Post your comment in the thread linked below. |

Hasbro Australia has added the Hasbro Masterpiece Bluestreak to their website, and with it, some official images of the release including a look at the box. The box is the now-standard "large" Hasbro boxes, which suggests Bluestreak will be packaged in robot mode and there may be some "dead space" around the edge of the figure.
Check out the images attached to this post. (For those keeping track, Masterpiece Star Saber has also gone up for order. However, his box is the same as the Japanese release one, since he is being imported from that region for the Australian market.) |

Botcon have posted information on their Frank Welker VIP package. The event will be an extra $200 on top of the as-yet unrevealed cost of a Primus Package / Golden Ticket, and will only be open to members of the Transformers Collectors Club.
What it gives those participating is an autograph and photo opportunity with Frank Welker, plus an exclusive art print and a pin of Megatron. It also guarantees seating at Frank Welker's panel. For full details, check out the official Botcon homepage. |

The Combiner Wars Protectobots have been released in Asia and are making their way into the collections of early adopters everywhere, including yours truly. Like the second wave and the wave 1 repacks, the third wave of Combiner Wars Deluxes come with pack-in comic books, and these comics have extended bios on the backs of them.
You can check out the bios attached to this post, to learn more about the Combiner Wars Protectobots. There's some great backstory in there - such as how Blades honed his fighting skills in the pits of Kaon; or how Rook is a recent graduate of the Cybertronian Military Academy, expert in tactics but still green in field operations; or how Streetwise was once a spotter for a two-man sniper team, and joined the Protectobots in out of weariness for violence, in search of a better way to settle conflicts. In addition to images of the long bios, we also have attached to this post some images of the comic covers with their awesome artwork, and the Designer Desk sections from the backs of the comics, which include some cool insight into the design process including some ideas for how to equip your Rook with all four fist / foot parts - it seems that the "Hulk Hands" thing was intentional! Check it all out attached to this post. |

The latest wave of the Combiner Wars Deluxes (Wave 3, featuring the Protectobots) have begun to arrive in the hands of collectors, including yours truly. Two of the pack-in comics have strong hints hidden in them for upcoming releases - namely, a Combiner Wars Vortex and a possible Prowl.
What we have here are a possible remolding of First Aid as Prowl - lineart included in the designer desk section of the pack-in comic for First Aid shows First Aid's body with a distinctly different head. The head has the familiar crest of Prowl (or possibly Ratchet) on it - we're going with Prowl since he was listed in store computers a while back, and is a major player in Combiner Wars. Though it's been pointed out the crest lacks the division in the middle which is distinctively Prowl, so chalk that as one more point in the "potentially Ratchet" camp. In the Blades comic, there is extensive lineart of the helicopter mode. However, on closer examination, you can see the nose of the helicopter is more angular, the arms of the robot on the sides are different, with no missiles and "tubing" details, suggesting new arms, and the weapon mounted beneath the helicopter is very different to Blades' twin gatlings which he inherited from Alpha Bravo. It's this that got our attention, because the single gun below the helicopter nose is very reminiscent of the one on Generation 1 Blades. Evidently someone sneaky at Hasbro dropped these two advance looks in as a bonus to fans. Those who were collecting the earlier Generations around 2010-11 might remember Hasbro used to do a similar thing with the instructions. Check out the images showing the potential new Vortex and Prowl attached to this post. |

We have a small update on Warbotron's latest project, a new and improved version of everyone's favorite genius combiner, Computron.
Board member icemanff23 has provided us with the first colored test shots of Warbotron's Lightspeed and Nosecone. So far all we have to show you are the robot modes, but they very much evoke the source material and look great. These upcoming releases follow the highly acclaimed and very well received Turbo Ejector (Afterburner). So far there are no announced release dates or pricing information. Keep checking back for more information on this project as it becomes available. |

The next DeNA Transformers: Legends event; Best Of Episode - Assault On Iacon, is now live. This is a rerun of the original Assault On Iacon Event.
"The war for Cybertron has just begun and Megatron seeks a quick victory—believing that he can simply take what he wants, Megatron stages a full-scale assault on the Autobot stronghold in the city of Iacon. Onslaught and Dead End are tasked to breach the city’s defenses and pave the way for total domination! Autobots Warpath and Bumblebee are the first to rush to Iacon’s defense. Their odds don’t look good, but with all things in a Cybertronian war, there’s more to this battle than meets the eye… Beneath Iacon’s glistening surface rests one of the last Titans. As the city quakes and churns, it dawns on the Decepticon forces that the city isn’t collapsing, it’s changing! Rising from the debris, Metroplex—a city-sized behemoth—towers over the city, heeding the call of the last Prime. Metroplex will defend Iacon or die trying." |

Following on from our news from yesterday, TFW2005 boards member Type-R has supplied us with a clearer image of the MP-26 Masterpiece Road Rage prototype from Figure King magazine.
Also revealed is that the figure has a late October release - but unfortunately the specific date has not yet been revealed. The article also mentions the extensively retooled bodyparts and the "Plasma Discharger" G1-style rifle. The price has yet to be announced, but keep checking back, as we'll bring you the updates as they happen. Check it out after the break! |

No, we have not accidentally reposted the news about Windblade making her comic book debut. This is the Robots In Disguise cartoon we are talking about.
A while back, eagle-eyed TFW2005 Board Members spotted a faint silhouette of Windblade (our then winner of Fan-Built Bot contest) as a concept sketch in the background of an interview regarding [then upcoming] Transformers: Robots In Disguise. After that, her name appeared on a leaked RID Toy Listing. It so happens that USA Today has finally, officially revealed her presence in the cartoon. "People are more accepting now of women playing stronger roles in everything across the board, whether it's animation or television or film," says actress Constance Zimmer (Entourage, House of Cards), who voices young Autobot cadet Strongarm in the new Saturday morning Cartoon Network series Transformers: Robots in Disguise (6:30 ET/PT). And for the '80s generation now having their own children, especially dads with daughters, "it's very important for them to have strong female characters so that they can relate and bridge that love with their kids," adds Mairghread Scott, a writer for the animated series as well as IDW's Transformers: Windblade comics. In crafting Windblade on the comics page and debuting her in upcoming Transformers TV episodes, Scott focused on making the Autobot as real as possible even though she's a mechanized being. "Our female characters really do have faults," she says, "they have things that they aren't necessarily always good at and they have things they're trying to overcome, and that makes them real people with a real drive." You can checkout the video clip from the show showing Windblade in action... after the jump. |

THE FANS HAVE SPOKEN!!!
USA Today announced this morning the results of the Fan-Built Combiner Poll and many fans are going to be extremely pleased by the outcome: Victorion, a new "Combiner" Transformer comprised of six different female Autobots and a result of another recent fan-built poll, is rolling out in the July comic Transformers: Combiner Hunters and debuting in toy form in the near future. This should come as no surprise to anyone as the boards have been in an uproar these last few months over gender equality and equal representation in the franchise. Many fans have been extremely vocal in their preferences and have demanded the inclusion of more female characters in the Transformers universe and this is a monumental step in the right direction. We all look forward to these new characters joining the likes of classics such as Menasor and Superion and what these new characters mean to the growth of the franchise. Be sure to jump into the discussion about the importance of these characters over on our boards. |
