We were planning on it but didn't get tickets. They were sold out for Saturday and Sunday was 90% sold out when I checked on Thursday. Also, they only had e tickets that needed to be printed out and I haven't owned a printer since 2001.

Bit bummed we missed it but not too much.

I came into an extra SDCC Red Skull if anyone is interested? Might keep him and use them both as guards or some thing and kit bash a new Skull but that seems excessive. I don't want to be known for being a bit excessive when it comes to HYDRA figures.

I am looking forward to having a caster here in UK. I am having some stuff shrunk down and will send them to you. Also, will you be casting figures and parts in colour like Vort does so we don't have to paint joints. There are some caster sites full of advice and tips.

Just going to be concentrating on heads and a few weapons and accessories at the moment while learning the craft. Once I'm happy with how I do it, ill start doing clear and colour stuff

Fantastic, I know it takes a bit of learning. I saw a guy make a vibration table out of an old electric shaver and a small box for getting bubbles to rise when casting plaster. Would work great for resin as well.

So..... Details of the show please!!! Any pics?

When it comes to casting it is honestly all trial and error. I can tell you that I wasted so much stuff in the beginning and I still will make a mold that I didn't think about one little piece of it that should have been higher or the pour spout should have been on the other side, yada yada yada.

I commend you for taking it on Pilk, it really isn't too difficult. The basic things I would recommend you get are a lego base board, a bunch of 1 row legos, and some oil based clay, make sure it is the stuff that will not air dry so that you can use it over and over for 2 part molds.

That is the other part make sure you are making 2 part molds. You might get some good casts out of solid molds, but they are a pain to open up and there are always areas that you can't get to, in order to try and fix it.

I'm no expert, but very willing to help. Ask me anything and if I can assist I will.

I wasn't all that thrilled with it to be honest. It was just like a overpriced Carboot sale. Stuff I can get cheaper on ebay marked up £10-20 higher. There was one stall selling moc MI figures for 15 each or 2 for 25 and they are in sainsburys for £8 each. Loose figures in jiffy bags for £6-89 few cool cosplay costumes and a few that would take pics but alot where quite funny about asking for pics etc.

Thanks dude. I'll take you up on any advise given. I'm not casting to take anyhing away from anyone it's more for my self when doing customs etc but if I can help people out and it that cash pays for the materials then I'm cool with that

London was the same, they were selling the Knock-off Hulkbuster - the one I bought for £8 - for £20. Over-priced nonsense, movie figures for £4 more than I could find on eBay, and the heat making it impossible to think properly.

Thank you!!!!

My Doombot kit bashes came today! They look AMAZING! Doom is pleased. Even chucked in two dogs.... I have actually been looking for two dogs for more than year! I know you didn't know that, but you read my mind!!!!!!

They are for two HYDRA elite guards, the two guys on either side of Skull. They still need heads, but I will find some one day. Maybe just get some from Pilk when he is up.

This is a great community indeed!!

I think it looks pretty close to that picture. Too big too small just right, doesn't matter. It is what it is and that is good enough for me.

He is usually drawn with a big bastard head anyway. Plus he can change at will . If it is an issue I will pose with his arms out stretched and Rocket on them to balance out the look.

Besides, Northstar's head is too big but everyone is still getting him. Is it perfect, no. Is it the best kit bash option, I think so. If I could magically make one third smaller I would. Not paying £50 to ship twice, shrink, cast, paint. It will look good enough as is for our collection.

Sorry if that sounde narky, I had to deal with a bike crash from the lad in between editing to add pics. No blood, just scraped up knee pads. Still hurt him though.

Anyway, big shout out to The Longest Day for hooking us up with some some amazing custom figures and attack dogs for the HYDRA army. And for free to boot. Really good day for the collection and he has restored our faith in humanity! Thank you Ross.

Dude I would have made you a Groot and clear coated the joints to prevent rub using the other BAF head, all our stuff is for play not show so I have to make them knockabout proof.

speaking of which

just some detail to do and its finished

WOWWSIE!!

Really nice work Jimmyo

And UKMU I think the head is fine, I think the main issue with the pic you posted is actually the neck. It seems like the neck is almost an inch above the shoulders. Plus I feel you completely when it comes to the amount of effort needed to make a small adjustment, in hopes that it might look a little better.

Thanks Kdub, it means a lot.

time is never on my side, 12 hour work days and 6 day weeks make it hard to get anything done

Why don't we start a UK Toyark Facebook group? It'll be easier to get in touch, and we can trade and discuss without Toyark staring over are shoulders making sure we're on topic

TLD he was fine, he is all about bmx racing now and has the full kit. He could wreck on a moto bike doing 30 and be fine with all that gear!!! Thank you though.

That dinosaur does look great J. I have been kicking Groot ideas about for ages. Loved the super Tom, really like the Young Patriot version. Got this one kind of on a whim after stumbling on a deal and haggling with the seller.

I thought the neck too K. Could really help out the overall look. Got the StarLord Groot combo from a cat in Indiana as well. Made me think of you. I am seeing that toy guy this weekend about your Rick Grimes by the way. I will let you know by Sunday.

I am going to the post office again tomorrow to pick up your head Jedi. Have went three times and they were closed each time. Have it timed this go though.

People are always going on about the mods here and "staying in topic" but in 2 years time and 2000 plus posts I have never seen them say anything. Not even close. Fuck all in fact. Also, I got kicked off Facebook for using a false name. Arre Tist was me. As in artist,so I may have to start a MySpace page! as long as we don't kill anyone I am pretty sure we are fine here in our little corner of the ark. To quote David Walliams, " what makes Britain great is it is the greatest country in all Britain."

Hope your package arrives tomorrow Pilk. I so want to see what the Doom army looks like with 8 bots, K Dubs main Doom from his awesome diorama and the two new Terminator Dooms from TLD. Gonna be pretty epic!! Might not be the biggest Doom army but it has to have the most high profile figures in it! Also most have travel several thousand miles altogether. Lot of love in that lot of evil.
