Welcome to the Ark! Do you collect anything else other than Marvel?

This is what really annoys me about Hasbro UK/UK Toyshops. "Hmmm, this line is going to be popular let's order loads". Do they not realise that if they ordered different waves then they'd get repeat customers!?

FP had the movie wave in stock a while back, I wanted Loki (but only for his weapon), so for the sake of a pound I thought I'll wait until Entertainer or the Disney Store gets them. Still waiting!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I don't strictly collect anything. I do a lot of customs so I buy bits of everything. My main things have been SW and GI Joe. Although my son likes his Transformers.
Sinc I saw The Avengers though I've been dabbling with Marvel stuff. I've got a custom of Hawkeye that requires a head badly .

Welcome Sector15! Double Entendres & rude jokes are the best way to make an entrance!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to OrderSixtySix's newsletter Hasbro UK will NOT be getting wave 3 of the Avengers. So that means no Widow, no Hawkeye and no Skrulls.

I'd love this to be wrong, but it sounds so, so familiar that I can't see it being wrong. I'm now scouring the Bay for a not ridiculously priced Widow. No luck yet...

Hopefully we will get wave 4 or 5 (if there is one) which may have repacks. Fingers crossed.

You guys really should get involved in the MU Appreciation thread, all the guys on there are awesome, and will have no problems with hooking you up with figures you want, once they get to know you. yesterday i did deals for a GI JOE ret. Zartan,an X-Force Wolvie and an MU Spidey, all from different guys(one of whom picked up the Zartan especially because he had seen i wanted one)none of the guys there will rip you off,in fact several of them do 4 for $20 on loose MU/Avengers/Cap/Iron Man etc which if you check the exchange rate is awesomely cheap for us!!

This is true! Today, I shipped something to a man in Scotland. Shipping will be the most expensive thing you pay most times.

I was that guy. I've bought and sold items on this board to all over the world and more often than not, it works out cheaper. Cost+Shipping from our American friends tends to be cheaper than UK Costs + Shipping/Travel Costs to the nearest Forbidden planet

Shipping is an interesting subject, how much exactly does it cost to ship to Scotland and UK.ive seen some Amazon sellers quoting shipping costs of 30 pounds for a 10 dollar figure, yet i seen guys stateside quoting shipping for around 10 dollars, and in some cases less than 10 dollars.i want to start purchasing from america and Canada but i am a bit put off by the shipping costs because of the variation in prices.

Well, it depends on how quickly you want your item. Generally, for the standard 10-14 day option, some Amazon and Ebay sellers tend to rip-it with over-priced shipping to make more money from you. Most of the guys here are only doing it cost/ only making a few bucks on it, so it is generally cheaper.

With regards to actual cost, it recently cost me $18 for a MU 3 pack to be shipped MOC; for loose items it should only be a couple of bucks

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Then again, I did pick up the Black Widow/Hawkeye Minimates for less than the people on eBay think they're worth direct from a US supplier, so maybe I'll strike lucky and get a 3.75 movie BW the same way.

And welcome to Sector15.

18 dollars seems a bit excessive to me i recently received the ironman/nick fury 4 pack shipping was less than 10 pounds,i sent a package to America that included a Book and a MOC "Meg Mucklebone" movie maniacs figure, cost me less than 10 quid to send it via registered post.i order stuff from China, the shipping is free even if it does takes several weeks to arrive.

My last order from Luke's Toy Store came to about £15 in total, including postage. bargain.

Just done the FPI rounds - nothing new. Got an Art of The Avengers though.

Forbidden Planet still have them listed as coming in August, so they might be available in the specialist shops. It does suck that general Stores won't be getting them. You know, figures of characters that haven't been warming the shelves for years and are guaranteed to fly off of them. But you know, Hasbro/store logic.

I know this is off MU topic, but does any UK arkers know if Toys R Us are still doing Marvel legends? and at £14.99 or with a deal on? I'm tempted to get a few and since i'm nowhere near a Toys R Us I didn't want to get to one and there be nothing there.

My local hasn't restocked since I got Steve Rogers and Extremis Iron Man. They have a lone Hope Summers for £14.99, though.

It would surprise me that they weren't going to be selling the complete movie team of Avengers over here, but this isn't the first time this has happened...

I've seen a single box of Legends in my TRU, when I asked if they were getting more '6 inch Marvel Legends' figures in, they kept saying "are you sure you don't mean the Avengers figures?" and then just fobbing me off with, "we should get some soon". I had to keep telling them that I'd bought a couple from that very store, I think they thought I was making it up...

Getting back on track, I know I really should ask some of the US arkers if they wouldn't mind finding stuff for me, but I don't like imposing on anyone and I really hate importing stuff. My heart keeps telling me to wait, maybe they'll show up, where's the thrill-of-the-hunt in just ordering it online? Then my brain smacks it around in a vain attempt to make it learn.

Can we just ask in the appreciation thread or should we be making B/S/T type things asking for stuff? I'm a total noob when it comes to forum etiquette.

I'd ask in a private message to someone who's spotted stuff, or just mention in the thread that you're from the UK and have no luck finding stuff and if anyone would be kind enough to pick up and forward figures.
I've never done it on this forum, as of yet. I've done it on other forums though.

So bored today so had a stroll down to TrU at lunch. Bought 2 IM2 Air Assault Drones and a Whiplash. I saw the Green Goblin from the new Spiderman line and was very tempted. Maybe tomorrow.

Sending as a gift does save money. Also, it saves some on the hassle. I'm in Seattle so it not only was it shipping overseas, across to the UK, but also across the United States. Theres your extra 3 dollars.

so essentially a store in NYC would more likely have cheaper shipping than a store on the west coast.i should ask my local PO about cost's to ship to the west coast, just to see if there is a price hike over on our end.

All so very true. Actually I was in your local FP today (I've got family in Stirling), better than the store in Cardiff but still the same depressing selection of wave 1 Avenger figs.
