Does anyone else laugh at American "scalper prices" on Ebay because it's the equivalent of our retail? Tempted to get the Doom/Spidey Comic Pack from ebay, working out at just under £30...which is only a couple of pounds dearer than what FP would charge plus shipping. And is there any guarantee we'll see those comic packs at all?
Having to wait until at least October for the new MU stuff is uber lame. It'll be hitting US shelves next week no doubt and I'll be trying to get them as close to US retail as possible. Even if I get hit with a customs tax, it'll be cheaper than paying FP the £10 (assuming they don't hike the price again)

Yeah it is a pisstake, I had the beast wave pre-ordered with them but they bump back the date to end of september so I might just grab them from the bay.

Mandarin/silver centurion pack was supposed to arrive today from them but it went straight to sold out and no mail from them to say what is going on with a friends pre-order

I promise that I am not that guy in Scotland haha!

Everyone enforces the acceptance of scalping by wanting prices above retail for figures, citing "market rates" "ebay prices" and whatever else they use to justify charging above retail to fellow collectors. It's like smaller scale scalping

LOL,they can cite what they like,im citing GREED as the main reason for scalping
But in fairness,in my country the government have gone mad, they are taxing everything.thats why im afraid to buy anything over 25 euro from overseas, the fear of it getting seized by customs solely for the purpose of hitting me with several taxes.

I went over to the states and I wish I could live there because the prices are so damn good on the figures. I got 6 figures from a guy at Phoenix Comic Con, including the exclusive compound hulk for $80. That is a god damn BARGAIN.

I bought Compound Hulk on ebay for £30 but with 5 other figures, $80 is smashing!

Not necessarily eBay, but on Amazon I have my eye on an Iron Man 2 minimate 4-pack for £11.

Postage is nearly £21.

Needless to say, I'm not paying that.

Is that on Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com?

If that is postage in the UK, someone needs a slap.

It's on Amazon.co.uk. Toymomsattic, I think the seller is called.

In other news, just spotted FF set in Liverpool Forbidden Planet International for £24.99, along with two other sets - one is a repaint Thor, Red Hulk and Iron Man (looks like the Extremis armour) and the other is a Green Hulk and two other figures. £24.99 a pop.

Kapowtoys has wave 21 (Prof X, Blastaar and Jubilee) in stock! Plus Baghead Spidey and Ultimate Spidey.

They're a little high price wise, but considering they have them now its not bad.

I bought the two Spidey variants and a Professy.

And OrderSixtySix has the next wave up for pre-order, supposedly coming out on Monday. Ordered Kraven, Beast and Beta Ray Bill, I'm not interested in the Hulk and Spidey.

i gave up on amazon when i seen that scottish guys prices £29.99 for Johnny storm?really?i got the MLSD version on amazon for $5 dollars.shipping was $4
Toymomsattic is a joke for shipping, there is a guy based in florida on Amazon who was selling XMO figures and iM2 Figures for a great price and his shipping fees are brilliant.
i cant remember his store name but he is the only seller from florida<<<so thats what you should look out for.but look him up on Amazon.COM you wont find him on .Co.UK.
@Panthro was that the Classic avengers set that you seen with Green Hulk????

I was lucky when I brought MU Blade for $60 odd, it got through customs without any taxes. Sadly, that is not always the case when getting some deliveries to the UK.

$60 for an MU??? okay perhaps i can put things into perspective for you $50 for a sentinel BAF.which is the fairer deal?paying that kinda money for a star wars sized figure only encourages these pirates to carry on what they are doing.
hell even scroll back on this thread,Proteus had an amazing deal on Galactus.

I think the "pirates" selling Blade these days are other collectors looking to maximise their return.

I think Customs make their assessment based on size rather than the stated price most of the time

That's about the only time I've paid over the odds for a figure. Others I have always got when released and haven't paid much at all for them. Basically maybe just a few pounds more. And yes, this has even included getting the regular Vision at a decent price when it first came out.

in other words its profiteering,i seen guys on youtube selling off their MU collections, only a year after starting, and selling at 200% profit in some cases i just laugh when they try to pass themselves off as bonafide collectors.
i can agree to high end customs commanding high prices,i would pay good money for some of the stuff i have seen showcased here on the ark.
But $60 for a mainstream figure??? im not so sure.when i first came here i remember 1 guy was trying to sell one of those chinese Don cheadle WM's for about $25 and ive seen electros being quoted at $35.

Especially when the government *drops* the amount you can import without increasing the amount for over a decade (£18 to £15). That means people are going to get stung more than ever.

Laugh? More like cry, especially when they have shots of Target / Walmart shelves showing things like comic packs for $12... Sentinels for $20... and discounted comic-packs for $3!!!!!

"Would you like to take advantage of our buy one get ALL THE OTHERS free deal?"
"I dunno... $3 seems steep for toy..."

Coincidence of coincidences - just got stung today for £22 on an item with a value of £35. BARGAIN!!!! Nothing like paying a huge amount to have your item delayed by a week while they send you a card charging you to do what you've already paid for them to do - deliver it!

I still don't get how they can justify charging VAT on the *shipping* as well as the actual item... it doesn't seem right at all...

one of the reasons I won't use bbts or toywiz anymore is that they are not customs friendly and see the UK as an excuse to scalp us further on the shipping.

Yeah, I've looked at placing an order on BBTS, but the shipping is usually ridiculous and makes Ebay seem like a bargain.
Anyone ordered the new wave for anywhere and received a confirmation or whatever?

Ordered Professor X, Bagman Spidey & Ultimate Spidey yesterday lunchtime.

They arrived this morning! That's pretty good. My opinion of Kapow has improved.

I'll try and do a mini review tomorrow, but now I have to go to work...

I ordered the next wave from OrderSixtySix, and the release date still says Monday. Looking good so far. Beast & Kraven have now gone out of stock, but they still have Bill, Hulk & Spidey.

Does shipping from the UK to the US normally take so long?

i am awaiting two packages/envelopes from cobralord that have yet to arrive - almost a month to the date.

he sent four envelopes, of which two have arrived. he says he sent them "ground" which i guess translates to "forever."

he already received my package too, so what gives?

he's situated in Canvey Island, Essex btw.

If ground shipping is the cheapest one, it usually takes about 4-6 weeks to reach it's destination. That's from my experience of dealing with other sellers using the cheap option.

Kapow's price seems a little steep for me, personally. Between £15 and £17 per figure, when I want the entire wave, is outwith my set budget for them.
