WTF? I think its funny and lame that if you were to spend $45,000, ebay only gives you $100 in ebucks. What a scam. Also, St. Peters is only about an hour drive from me, I wonder what this store was?

I've been to that store a while ago, it's in a mall, but I completely forgot the name of it. It was a pretty cool place.

Maybe someone who wanted to open a store, but honestly, this stuff will never sell. $45,000 is soooo much money.

I think this seller is "too high", they would have trouble selling that stuff for even $5000.

It averages to be $7.22 per item but that is not really fair , because it says some items are high end pieces. I do see way too many $4.00 star wars toys in the photos.

This is an inventory buy out. Not bad, but not great. Would've been a better offer if it wasn't just an inventory buy out and he was handing over ownership of the entire store and the lease to the space. That at least would shave a few dollars off the toys, otherwise we're still buying a lot of these items at least a little above cost. Owner is clearly trying to offload the items at a small profit or break even on the cost but isn't really a smart move if he has no alternative storage and it would be even worse if he had to pay for storage, it would ultimately shave off his profits on his lot. Probably cost 3 or 4hundred to store all of this. It's silly. It's like those eBayers who relist a toy only worth $10 for $25 each week. Nobody buys it and they end up having to pay listing fees on it again everytime it doesn't sell. One of the places I worked at years back sold collectible miniatures and every month that stuff didn't sell, we lost thousands in listing costs until they had to close it down.

This is probably some poor sap's ex-wife selling his collection she won in the divorce.

Or it could be an actual store that got foreclosed on, lock, stock and barrell.
Or stuff that found it's way out of a TRU stockroom by a disgruntled employee.

On this note: how cool would it be if you found all of this stuff in a storage locker auction (Yes...I've been watching Storage Wars).

Like you buy the unit for a grand...open up the boxes and VOILA......I might have a 22 year old heart attack right then and there.

It's a huge amount of figures. I only ever really looked at the Marvel stuff in depth. There is such a huge amount of Star Wars, I remember that because it covered an entire corner. The MU and Marvel Select stuff is mediocre at best. I don't recall anything I needed or wanted. However, the ML stuff is very nice. Lots of rare stuff too. Lots of variants and loads of early stuff and complete early series.

I'm not sure I've ever tried to judge $45,000 worth of toys as I'd never spend that much at once on anything toy related, so I can't even imagine ballparking if it's worth it or not. Especially since I don't know individual pieces and prices on non marvel figures! Sorry!

I wonder why these people don't just claim bankruptcy and sell the toys individually online if their business is doing so badly? It just seems idiotic to sit around waiting for someone to spend $45,000 on toys when the economy is this bad, and they obviously know how to use ebay. No wonder the place went under.
