The Last Supper | Simon and Kirby

Apparently he had it hanging on his wall.

the only thing that 'offends' me is Red Skull as Judas and only because the analogy breaks down. but I do like the 40s-50s era heroes just wish I knew who everyone was. I'd definitely buy one

Well, you;re a sensible guy- not, for example, the psychos that pressured Lowes to drop their commercials from that American Muslim program because it showed them as American as anyone.
And they call themselves Christians!

Not to derail the thread any further but yeah that is just WOW!

Simon did a lot of good for the comics industry and I don't just mean Cap but especially Cap

Yeah- his mark on the world lives on.

I assume we'll get some obligatory one page memorial in next month's Marvel Comics?

The Red Skull is not meant to be Judas. In the original Last Supper, Judas is the fourth from the left (going by the position of their heads; he's lower than the others and is holding a money bag). In Simon's painting, that spot is represented by the blond kid with the blue jacket with a yellow "S" in front of it.

Not sure who that is, but here is the list of who I was able to figure out from the painting:

01. ?
02. Red Skull
03. Captain 3-D or 3-D Man (I'm leaning towards the former, since it was a character created by Simon)
04. ?
05. ?
06. Captain Marvel (Shazam)
07. Captain America
08. Spider-Man
09. The Thing
10. ?
11. The Fly (Archie Comics ver.)
12. Blue Bolt
13. Fighting American
