Hey guys, I just wanted all of you to be aware that you have a GREAT set of resources at your disposal within our very own network here at ToyArk. Myself and many others over at TFW2005.com have been working relentlessly for years on the Tutorials section in Radicons Customs. While certainly many of you are aware of this resource, some of you may not be.

If you click this link, it will take you to TFW2005.com's Radicons Customs Tutorials Resource.

While very many of the tutorials are specific to the TRANSFORMERS brand of toys, there are certainly a number of resources that are not. Also, some of the tutorials contain tips and how-tos that discuss skills that can be applied to other projects as well.

Also, I'd like to note here that if you have a tutorial you'd like to share, feel free to make a post here, in Customs General Discussion. Such an addition could be added to the resource listed here as well as being featured here at ToyArk as well.

I would like to point out that this is an opportunity for you to get some double exposure, as a LOT of artists frequent both ToyArk.com and TFW2005.com. One of the many things that Radicons is well known for is its Tutorial resourcing, and that section is frequented by many.

Also, over at our other sister site, Hisstank.com, you'll find a slew of tutorials for making custom Joes:

Actually as a follow up to this - the advice given suggests using rubbing alcohol (IPA - Isopropyl Alcohol) which apparently is easily available in places like Walmart, but not quite so straight forward for those outside of the US.

In the UK I found that IPA is available from Maplin (a computer supplies store) for a fairly reasonable price and did the job nicely.

(Not sure whether it's worth/possible to update the article with that info.)

BigHank clued me onto Colorbond spray paint (made for car repairs to vinyl and plastic)- stuff is incredible for a primer coat- all my recent customs have a colorbond basecoat and every paint has stuck to it perfectly- acrylics are best, but Testors' enamels ar the best for metallic details, like on my Black Knight's gold details- super reflective.

For acrylics, get the smaller tube containers for like a buck each at Michaels arts and crafts- they carry a brand of acryllic metallic paint that blows me away- my Talon custom is and my repainted Iron Man customs are all one-dollar metallic colors.

By all means, you guys post tutorial helps here as well. I'm able to cross-promote such things both here and at TFW2005.COM in the Radicons Customs/Creative Forums.

I've been busy resourcing much more, so if you haven't stopped by recently, do eet!
