I noticed the vintage cardback Anakin figure has a version that says Anakin Skywalker on it, and occasionally another that just says Darth Vader. I was thinking about picking up the Vader one because the back of both figures still says Anakin, but I decided to share a photo on here first of them side by side to get more opinions/comments on it.

It is a running change variant, not and error. Started as Anakin, became Vader. Hasbro is cute.

Yeah, they almost fooled me too.

At that point in the movie he's already Darth Vader, so the second version is more accurate anyway.

I'm still considering picking it up just because the figure is pretty accurate, but those later SW movies weren't good enough to warrant figure purchases (although the Mace Sam Jackson figure is pretty sick, too bad I've never been able to get my hands on it).

I thought about it too, but one toy of that version of Anakin is enough for me. And thankfully he's the best toy version of him so far.

Dude, Mace is awesome. Head sculpt is dead on for Sam Jackson. Articulation isn't quite on Jedi Luke's level (long-sleeved robe prevents wrist hinge joints; still has wrist swivels tho).

Since they seem to be doing every version of Ben from the prequels, I'd love to see a Vintage version of him from ANH. It would look great next to wave 1 Vader. It would also give them a third mold they could cast in translucent blue plastic....

Did you ever pick up the mail order ghost Ben? I remember trying to order it online when I was a little kid (back when eBay was all about Pez dispensers) from some dude on a forum like this, and it showed up at my house COD and my mom told me flat out that she wasn't going to sign for it. That was a rough day. I did finally get my Mail in Boba Fett today, it is pretty freakin' cool. I can post pics if anyone is interested.

I got (and still have) the mail-away Ben from the '95 POTF (I actually have a lot of mail-away stuff from that era), but nothing recent.

In fact, at this point with Star Wars, I only have two interests: Getting the Vintage Jedi/Sith releases and staffing my AT-AT. It will be the first time I've ever actually tried to army build, but I'm stopping at 20 figures since I think that's all it will hold.
