The main complaint people had about season 2 was how little progress took place during the first half. I think they were trying to avoid that this time around.

it does feel a bit rushed so far though, maybe they will have some flash backs of the winter,I also think it will slow down once they reach woodbury.

Season 3 episode 2 was pretty good. It kept the vibe of the comic, but still found a slightly different way to excel the story.

New episode tonight, "Killer Within."
And damn... that... that was hard. That was the most intense episode of the series.

Yeah..... awesome, but much more like the comics in respect to the pace and character removal.

This series just gets better and better!
So many things I didn't see coming! Won't mention what to tread lightly on spoilers. But Rick's gone completely bats. Makes me wonder if he went crazy in the comics, too.

I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode. I hate Merle, but it is cool to have him back on the show. Kind of makes up for Shane's absence.

You know, I hate Merle (Or however his name is spelled), but his actor is soooooo good at it, that I find him fun to watch. He's one of those that you hate because you're supossed to, and because he's fun to hate.
He's the polar opposite of Daryl (Whom I've come to adore)

Yeah, I feel the same way. That actor is superb, and he pulls off that character flawlessly. I wish they would have kept the inmates around longer though, they were cool. I was kind of pissed when Oscar died.

I agree. Do wish the inmates had stayed around longer. (Their names haven't really had the time to imprint on my aweful memory).
I really liked the big black dude who got shot at woodberry. The small white dude, I hadn't quite figured out if he was nice, or creepy. Sometimes gentle niceness can come off as creepy, unintentionally. Either way, they both were trying hard to be a contributing and productive part of the group. I also wish that Tyrone and his group hadn't been driven off by Rick going completely batshit.

I love how the show is different from the comics. I was excited to see Tyrese show up at the prison and now he is with the Governor. Not what I had expected! Thats what makes the show great for the fans of the comics, you never know whats going to happen next.

I can agree with that - it is fresh enough for the comic fans, but retains the awesomeness of those comics so that the tv audience can enjoy the great story progression.

I think they would have to make the show a little different. If it was exactly the same, I doubt it would get more than a season or two if the audience already knows what's going to happen.

My dad didn't, until I started talking about Michone and the Prison, after season two ended. But I do personally dislike exact adaptations of comics to series (Comics to movies don't bother me as much). Makes animes really boring to me. Because if they don't make it almost word for word, then they probably end up leaving something out that makes one of thr other a vastly superior and more enjoyable experience. Something like this that uses themes and characters from the comics, and parts of storylines, but add it's own twist makes it much more enjoyable. You never know who's going to die, or live. Or when. For all we knew, Andrea could have killed the governor in the last episode.

Because he was used in one episode and one episode only a few years ago, and barily mentioned at all, after it.
And DFD does know and has used his name. -_-

The Morgan episode was one of the best written ones they've done, but it was hard to watch because I wanted him to join the group.
