I've been waiting for SOMEONE to pick up the Guyver license now that the Max Factory figures are out of production and ridiculously expensive. I thought Revoltech would grab it (which would lead to awesome interchangeable Aptom parts), but Figma will do nicely.

YESSSSS!!! Bring on the Guyver Franchise! Got most of the Max Factory ones, but I want some "toys" and not poseable statues like the Max Factory ones were intended to be!

HEY!!! My Image Head Guyver I isn't THAT statuesque.

And I swear, this Figma looks EXACTLY like it. Even the vibro blades look like the same removable ones.

Yeah, but if you touch them too much, the oil on them dries up and they start to crack. XD

Most likely because Max Factory worked on both.

The live-action movies? Man if so..dude watch the anime...way better!

Apparently the manga is pretty long-running and Makishima evolves into some super version of Guyver III...forgot what it was called.

I think $40+. 5.5" I think.

Oooo....never knew that! I might pick this up especially if GSC makes Makishima.

Well I want to, but I won't because I red all about the Guyver on wikipedia (boo and hiss) so that I know more about the character and etc. Well Guyver Dark Hero was abit better than the first film and I could see why. But who knows maybe down the road I could buy the anime series and watch it. Still I can't deny of how badass the Guyver is. And also was the super mode of Guyver called Gigantic or something.

I rented the live action movies after watching the anime and the movies were disappointing. I like Mark Hamill(LUKE SKYWALKER FTW!) but those movies were not as good as the anime.

The first movie was too watered down and the second was pretty much an ultra violent Power Rangers movie with David "Solid Snake" Hayter as the Guyver but a step in the right direction.

Don't get me wrong I watched the shit out of both of them when I was younger but I tried watching the second recently and it made me laugh a bit. Still enjoy the fight at the end though. Definitely give the animes a shot. The newer one is awesome.

Was the new one better than the old? I only watched a few episodes of the new one but raw, no subs.

I love both. The new one just has cleaner animation imo since it's newer and all.

Yeah, but I guess I like to be entertained no matter how crappy some movies are.

Dark Hero was sorta into the source material of the manga than the first film, but I do know they're both on DVDs...unfortuately I have the old school VHS tapes.

I am not a big fan of this current look. (I know it is just a prototype) But I do not care for the elbow joints (balls really?) and the hip (upper crotch to waist) looks elongated. My biggest gripe is that it looks too similar to the figure I already own. As much as I love Guyver figures, I think I will pass this up, unless they include some great accessories such as: Mega Smasher effect, gravity blast etc...(similar to what S.H. MonsterArts is doing with Godzilla) What I would truly love is for Max Factory/Figma to release this line in 1/6 scale (12") not to mention with the accessories above However I am glad they are keeping this line of figures alive. Not to mention some people are going to love to snag these especially if they missed out on the last set!

They're free on YouTube. I've been following the manga for a long time, and I love it. Currently, both Guyvers have their own gigantic armor.

A site called Japan-legend has all the manga up for viewing.

Did Guyver III turn bad in the manga?

it is a little more complex than good or bad. Agito has his own objective. His Objective, for a while, did run against Sho when they were sharing the gigantic armor. Now that they both have gigantic armors they're kind of on the same side. There is a new guyver 2 female. she works directly for SPOILER!

Richard Gyuot. He did survive Mt Minakami incident.
